1 A nd the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

Y vino Palabra del SEÑOR a mí, diciendo:

2 S on of man, set thy face against Jerusalem, and drop against the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,

Hijo de hombre, pon tu rostro contra Jerusalén, y derrama palabra sobre los santuarios, y profetiza sobre la tierra de Israel;

3 a nd say to the land of Israel, Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, and I will draw forth my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.

y dirás a la tierra de Israel: Así dijo el SEÑOR: He aquí, que yo estoy contra ti, y sacaré mi espada de su vaina, y talaré de ti al justo y al impío.

4 S eeing that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of its sheath against all flesh, from the south to the north;

Y por cuanto talaré de ti al justo y al impío, por tanto, mi espada saldrá de su vaina contra toda carne, desde el mediodía hasta el aquilón:

5 a nd all flesh shall know that I Jehovah have drawn forth my sword out of its sheath: it shall not return any more.

y sabrá toda carne que yo, el SEÑOR, saqué mi espada de su vaina; no la envainaré más.

6 S igh then, thou son of man; with breaking of the loins, and with bitterness sigh before their eyes.

Y tú, hijo de hombre, gime con quebrantamiento de tus lomos, y con amargura; gime delante de los ojos de ellos.

7 A nd it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore dost thou sigh? that thou shalt say, Because of the tidings, for it cometh; and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall languish, and all knees shall melt into water: behold, it cometh; it is here, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Y será, que cuando te dijeren: ¿Por qué gimes tú? Dirás: Por la noticia que viene; y todo corazón se desleirá, y toda mano se debilitará, y se angustiará todo espíritu, y toda rodilla se irá en aguas; he aquí que viene, y se hará, dijo el Señor DIOS.

8 A nd the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

Y vino a mí palabra del SEÑOR, diciendo:

9 S on of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith Jehovah: Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished.

Hijo de hombre, profetiza, y di: Así dijo el Señor DIOS: Di: La espada, la espada está afilada, y aun acicalada;

10 I t is sharpened for sore slaughter, it is furbished that it may glitter. Shall we then make mirth, The sceptre of my son contemneth all wood?

para degollar víctimas está afilada, acicalada está para que relumbre. ¿Hemos de alegrarnos? Viene menospreciando a la vara de mi hijo como a todo árbol.

11 A nd he hath given it to be furbished that it may be handled. The sword,—it is sharpened, and it is furbished to give it into the hand of the slayer.

Y lo dio a acicalar para tenerlo en la mano; la espada está afilada, y está acicalada, para entregarla en mano del matador.

12 C ry and howl, son of man; for it shall be against my people, it shall be against all the princes of Israel: they are given up to the sword along with my people: smite therefore upon the thigh.

Clama y aúlla, oh hijo de hombre; porque éste será sobre mi pueblo, será él sobre todos los príncipes de Israel. Temores de espada serán a mi pueblo; por tanto, hiere el muslo;

13 F or the trial; and what if even the contemning sceptre shall be no ? saith the Lord Jehovah.

porque él será prueba. Y qué sería si no menospreciare la vara, dijo el Señor DIOS.

14 A nd thou, son of man, prophesy, and smite thy hands together; for the sword shall be doubled the third time: it is the sword of the slain, the sword that hath slain the great one, which encompasseth them privily.

Tú, pues, hijo de hombre, profetiza y bate una mano con otra, y dóblese la espada la tercera vez, la espada de muertos; ésta es espada de gran matanza que los penetrará,

15 I n order that the heart may melt, and the stumbling-blocks be multiplied, I have set the threatening sword against all their gates: ah! it is made glittering, it is whetted for the slaughter.

Para que el corazón desmaye, y las ruinas se multipliquen; en todas las puertas de ellos he puesto espanto de espada. ¡Ay! Que es hecho para que relumbre, y es aderezado para degollar.

16 G ather up, go to the right hand, turn thee, go to the left, whithersoever thy face is appointed.

Ponte a una parte, ponte a la diestra, o ponte a la siniestra, hacia donde tu rostro se determinare.

17 A nd I myself will smite my hands together, and I will satisfy my fury: I Jehovah have spoken.

Y yo también batiré mi mano con mi mano, y haré descansar mi ira. Yo, el SEÑOR, he hablado.

18 A nd the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

Y vino Palabra del SEÑOR a mí, diciendo:

19 A nd thou, son of man, set thee two ways, by which the sword of the king of Babylon may come—out of one land shall they both come—and make thee a signpost, make it at the head of the way to the city.

Y tú, hijo de hombre, señálate dos caminos por donde venga la espada del rey de Babilonia; de una misma tierra salgan ambos: y pinta un ejército; en el principio del camino de la ciudad lo harás.

20 A ppoint a way for the coming of the sword to Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and to Judah at the fenced of Jerusalem.

El camino señalarás por donde venga la espada a Rabá de los hijos de Amón, y a Judá contra Jerusalén la fuerte.

21 F or the king of Babylon standeth at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he shaketh arrows, he inquireth of the teraphim, he looketh in the liver.

Porque el rey de Babilonia se paró en una encrucijada, al principio de dos caminos, para tomar adivinación; acicaló saetas, consultó en ídolos, miró el hígado.

22 I n his right hand is the lot of Jerusalem to appoint battering-rams, to open the mouth for bloodshed, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering-rams against the gates, to cast mounds, to build siege-towers.

La adivinación fue a su mano derecha, sobre Jerusalén, para poner capitanes, para abrir la boca a la matanza, para levantar la voz en grito, para poner ingenios contra las puertas, para fundar baluarte, y edificar fuerte.

23 A nd this shall be a false divination in their sight, for them that have sworn oaths; but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.

Y les será como adivinación mentirosa en sus ojos, por estar juramentados con juramento a ellos; mas él trae a la memoria la iniquidad, para prenderlos.

24 T herefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye make your iniquity to be remembered in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins appear; because ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.

Por tanto, así dijo el Señor DIOS: Por cuanto habéis hecho venir en memoria vuestras iniquidades, manifestando vuestras traiciones, y descubriendo vuestros pecados en todas vuestras obras; por cuanto habéis venido en memoria, seréis tomados con la mano.

25 A nd thou, profane, wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, at the time of the iniquity of the end,

Y tú, profano e impío príncipe de Israel, cuyo día es venido en el tiempo de la consumación de la iniquidad;

26 — thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Remove the mitre and take off the crown; what is shall be no. Exalt that which is low, and abase that which is high.

así dijo el Señor DIOS: Depón la tiara, quita la corona; esto no será más así; al bajo alzaré, y al alto abatiré.

27 I will overturn, overturn, overturn it! This also shall be no, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it.

Del revés, del revés, del revés la tornaré; y no será esto más, hasta que venga aquel de quién es el derecho, y yo se lo entregaré.

28 A nd thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus speaketh the Lord Jehovah concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach; and thou shalt say, A sword, a sword is drawn; for the slaughter is it furbished, that it may consume, that it may glitter:

Y tú, hijo de hombre, profetiza, y di: Así dijo el Señor DIOS sobre los hijos de Amón, y su oprobio. Dirás pues: La espada, la espada está desenvainada para degollar; acicalada para consumir con resplandor.

29 w hilst they see vanity for thee, whilst they divine a lie unto thee, to lay thee upon the necks of the wicked that are slain, whose day is come at the time of the iniquity of the end.

Te profetizan vanidad, te adivinan mentira, para entregarte con los cuellos de los malos sentenciados a muerte, cuyo día es venido en el tiempo de la consumación de la iniquidad.

30 R estore to its sheath. I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy birth.

¿La volveré a su vaina? En el lugar donde te criaste, en la tierra donde has vivido, te tengo que juzgar.

31 A nd I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow upon thee the fire of my wrath, and give thee into the hand of brutish men, skilful to destroy.

Y derramaré sobre ti mi ira; el fuego de mi enojo haré soplar sobre ti, y te entregaré en mano de hombres temerarios, artífices de destrucción.

32 T hou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt not be remembered: for I Jehovah have spoken.

Del fuego serás para ser consumido; tu sangre será en medio de la tierra; no habrá más memoria de ti: porque yo, el SEÑOR, he hablado.
