1 W hy, Jehovah, standest thou afar off? hidest thou thyself in times of distress?

2 T he wicked, in his pride, doth hotly pursue the afflicted. They shall be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

(22)Чрез гордостта на нечестивите сиромахът се измъчва; Те се хващат в лукавствата, които <ония> измислюват.

3 F or the wicked boasteth of his soul's desire, and he blesseth the covetous; he contemneth Jehovah.

(23)Защото нечестивият се хвали с пожеланията на душата си; И сребролюбецът се отрича от Господа, <даже Го> презира.

4 T he wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, He doth not search out: all his thoughts are, There is no God!

(24)Нечестивият, от гордостта на лицето <си казва: Господ> няма да издири; Всичките му помисли <са, че> няма Бог.

5 H is ways always succeed; thy judgments are far above out of his sight; all his adversaries, he puffeth at them.

(25)Неговите пътища всякога са упорити; Твоите съдби са твърде високо от очите му; Той презира {Еврейски: Духа срещу.} всичките си противници.

6 H e saith in his heart, I shall not be moved; from generation to generation I shall be in no adversity.

(26)Казва в сърцето си: Няма да се поклатя, От род в род няма <да изпадна> в злощастие.

7 H is mouth is full of cursing, and deceit, and oppression; under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.

(27)Устата му са пълни с проклинане и угнетяване и насилство; Под езика му има злоба и беззаконие.

8 H e sitteth in the lurking-places of the villages; in the secret places doth he slay the innocent: his eyes watch for the wretched.

(28)Седи в засада в селата, В скришни места, за да убие невинния; Очите му са насочени тайно против безпомощния.

9 H e lieth in wait secretly, like a lion in his thicket; he lieth in wait to catch the afflicted: he doth catch the afflicted, drawing him into his net.

(29)Причаква скришно като лъв в рова си, Причаква за да грабне сиромаха; Грабва сиромаха, като го влачи в мрежата си.

10 H e croucheth, he boweth down, that the wretched may fall by his strong ones.

(30)Навежда се, снишава се; И безпомощните падат в ноктите му {Или: Под силата му.}.

11 H e saith in his heart, God hath forgotten, he hideth his face, he will never see.

(31)Казва в сърцето си: Бог е забравил, Скрил е лицето Си, никога няма да види.

12 A rise, Jehovah; O God, lift up thy hand: forget not the afflicted.

(32)Стани, Господи; Боже, издигни ръката Си; Да не забравяш кротките.

13 W herefore doth the wicked contemn God? He hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require.

(33)Нечестивият защо презира Бога, И казва в сърцето си: Ти няма да <Го> издирваш?

14 T hou hast seen, for thou thyself beholdest trouble and vexation, to requite by thy hand. The wretched committeth himself unto thee; thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.

(34)Ти си <го> видял; защото гледаш неправдата и притеснението, За да <ги> хващаш в ръката Си; На Тебе се поверява безпомощният; На сирачето Ти си помощник.

15 B reak thou the arm of the wicked, and as for the evil man, seek out his wickedness thou find none.

(35)Строши мишцата на нечестивия; Издири нечестието на злия човек, <докато> не намериш <вече от него>.

16 J ehovah is King for ever and ever: the nations have perished out of his land.

(36)Господ е цар до вечни векове; Народите са изчезнали от земята Му.

17 J ehovah, thou hast heard the desire of the meek, thou hast established their heart: thou causest thine ear to hear,

(37)Господи, послушал си желанието на кротките; Ще утвърдиш сърцето им; Ще направиш внимателно ухото Си,

18 T o do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed one, that the man of the earth may terrify no more.

(38)За да отсъдиш за сирачето и угнетения, Тъй щото човекът, който е от земята, да не застрашава вече.
