1 A nd the children of Israel, the whole assembly, came into the wilderness of Zin, in the first month; and the people abode at Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.

И в първия месец дойдоха израилтяните, цялото общество, в Цинската пустиня; и людете останаха в Кадис. Там умря Мариам, и там бе погребана.

2 A nd there was no water for the assembly, and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.

А вода нямаше за обществото, тъй че те се събраха против Моисея и против Аарона.

3 A nd the people contended with Moses, and spoke, saying, Would that we had died when our brethren died before Jehovah!

Людете се скараха с Моисея, като говореха казвайки: О да бяхме измрели и ние, когато братята ни измряха пред Господа!

4 A nd why have ye brought the congregation of Jehovah into this wilderness, that we should die there, we and our beasts?

Защо изведохте Господното общество в тая пустиня да измрем в нея, ние и добитъкът ни?

5 A nd why have ye made us to go up out of Egypt, to bring us to this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates, neither is there any water to drink.

И защо ни изведохте из Египет, за да ни доведете на това лошо място, което не е място за сеене, ни за смокини, ни за лозя, ни за нарове, нито има вода за пиене?

6 A nd Moses and Aaron went from before the congregation to the entrance of the tent of meeting, and fell upon their faces; and the glory of Jehovah appeared to them.

Тогава Моисей и Аарон отидоха от присъствието на обществото при входа на шатъра за срещане, гдето и паднаха на лицата си; и Господната слава им се яви.

7 A nd Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

И Господ говори на Моисея, казвайки:

8 T ake the staff, and gather the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes, and it shall give its water; and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock, and shalt give the assembly and their beasts drink.

Вземи жезъла и свикай обществото, ти и брат ти Аарон, и пред очите им говорете на канарата, и тя ще даде водата си; така ще им извадиш вода из канарата, и ще напоиш обществото и добитъка им.

9 A nd Moses took the staff from before Jehovah, as he had commanded him.

И тъй, Моисей взе жезъла, <който беше> пред Господа, според както Той му заповяда;

10 A nd Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said to them, Hear now, ye rebels: shall we bring forth to you water out of this rock?

и, като свикаха Моисей и Аарон обществото пред канарата, той им каза: Чуйте сега, вий бунтовници! да ви извадим ли вода из тая канара?

11 A nd Moses lifted up his hand, and with his staff smote the rock twice, and much water came out, and the assembly drank, and their beasts.

Тогава Моисей дигна ръката си и с жезъла си удари канарата два пъти; и потече много вода, та обществото и добитъкът им пиха.

12 A nd Jehovah said to Moses and to Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to hallow me before the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land that I have given them.

Но Господ каза на Моисея и Аарона: Понеже не Ме вярвахте за да Ме осветите пред израилтяните, за това вие няма да въведете това общество в земята, която им давам.

13 T hese are the waters of Meribah, where the children of Israel contended with Jehovah, and he hallowed himself in them.

Това е водата на Мерива {То ест: Каране.}, защото израилтяните се препираха с Господа, и Той се освети всред тях.

14 A nd Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom, Thus says thy brother Israel: Thou knowest all the trouble that hath befallen us,

След това Моисей изпрати посланици от Кадис до едомския цар <да му кажат>: Така говори брат ти Израил: Ти знаеш всичките трудности, които ни сполетяха,

15 h ow our fathers went down to Egypt, and we dwelt in Egypt a long time, and the Egyptians evil entreated us and our fathers;

как бащите ни слязоха в Египет, и живяхме дълго време в Египет, и <как> египтяните се отнасяха зле към нас и бащите ни,

16 a nd when we cried to Jehovah, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and brought us forth out of Egypt; and behold, we are at Kadesh, a city at the extremity of thy border.

и <как>, когато ние извиквахме към Господа, Той чу гласа ни, и изпрати един ангел та ни изведе из Египет; и ето ни в Кадис, град в края на твоите предели.

17 L et us pass, I pray thee, through thy country; we will not pass through fields, or through vineyards, neither will we drink water out of the wells: we will go by the king's road; we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy border.

Нека минем, моля, през земята ти. Няма да минем през нивите или през лозята, нито ще пием вода от кладенците; но ще вървим през царевия друм; няма да се отбием ни надясно ни наляво, докато не преминем твоите предели.

18 B ut Edom said to him, Thou shalt not pass by me, lest I come out against thee with the sword.

Но Едом му отговори: Няма да минеш през <земята> ми, да не би да изляза с нож против тебе.

19 A nd the children of Israel said to him, We will go by the high way; and if we drink of thy water, I and my cattle, then I will pay for it: I will only, without anything else, go through on my feet.

А израилтяните <пак> му рекоха: Ние ще минем през друма; и ако аз и добитъкът ми пием от водата ти, ще я платим; остави ме само с нозете си да премина и нищо друго.

20 A nd he said, Thou shalt not go through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand.

А той <пак> отговори: Няма да преминеш. И Едом излезе против него с много люде и със силна ръка.

21 T hus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his territory; and Israel turned away from him.

Така Едом отказа да пусне Израиля да мине през пределите му; за това Израил се отвърна от него.

22 A nd they removed from Kadesh; and the children of Israel, the whole assembly, came to mount Hor.

И така, израилтяните, цялото общество, отпътуваха от Кадис, и дойдоха при планината Ор.

23 A nd Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron in mount Hor, on the border of the land of Edom, saying,

Тогава Господ говори на Моисея и Аарона на планината Ор, при границите на Едомската земя, казвайки:

24 A aron shall be gathered unto his peoples; for he shall not enter into the land that I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my commandment at the waters of Meribah.

Аарон ще се прибере при людете си, защото няма да влезе в земята, която съм дал на израилтяните, понеже не се покорихте на думата Ми при водата на Мерива.

25 T ake Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up unto mount Hor,

Вземи Аарона и сина му Елеазара и изведи ги на планината Ор;

26 a nd strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron shall be gathered, and shall die there.

и съблечи от Аарона одеждите му, и облечи с тях сина му Елеазара; и Аарон ще се прибере <при людете си> и ще умре там.

27 A nd Moses did as Jehovah had commanded, and they went up mount Hor before the eyes of the whole assembly.

И Моисей стори, според както Господ заповяда; те се качиха на планината Ор пред очите на цялото общество.

28 A nd Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there upon the top of the mountain; and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain.

И Моисей съблече от Аарона одеждите му и облече с тях сина му Елеазара; и Аарон умря там на връх планината; а Моисей и Елеазар слязоха от планината.

29 A nd the whole assembly saw that Aaron was dead, and they mourned for Aaron thirty days, the whole house of Israel.

И като видя цялото общество, че Аарон умря, то целият Израилев дом оплакваха Аарона за тридесет дена.
