1 W hen Jehovah thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and shall cast out many nations from before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou,

Когато Господ твоят Бог те въведе в земята, в която отиваш да я притежаваш, и изгони много народи от пред тебе, хетейците, гергесейците, аморейците, ханаанците, ферезейците, евейците и евусейците, седем народа по-големи и по-силни от тебе,

2 a nd when Jehovah thy God shall give them up before thee and thou shalt smite them, then shalt thou utterly destroy them: thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them.

и когато Господ твоят Бог ги предаде на тебе та ги поразиш, тогава ги изтреби, като <на Бога> обречени; да не правиш договор с тях, нито да ги пожалиш;

3 A nd thou shalt make no marriages with them: thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor take his daughter for thy son;

да се не жениш между тях, и да не даваш дъщеря си на сина му, нито да вземаш неговата дъщеря за своя син;

4 f or he will turn away thy son from following me, and they will serve other gods, and the anger of Jehovah will be kindled against you, and he will destroy thee quickly.

защото ще отвърнат синовете ти от да Ме следват, за да служат на други богове, и така ще пламне против вас гневът на Господа, който скоро ще те изтреби.

5 B ut thus shall ye deal with them: ye shall break down their altars, and shatter their statues, and hew down their Asherahs, and burn their graven images with fire.

Но така да им направите: жертвениците им да разорите, кумирите им да изпотрошите, ашерите им да изсечете и изваяните им идоли да изгорите с огън.

6 F or a holy people art thou unto Jehovah thy God: Jehovah thy God hath chosen thee to be unto him a people for a possession, above all the peoples that are upon the face of the earth.

Понеже вие сте люде свети на Господа вашия Бог; вас избра Господ вашият Бог да бъдете Нему собствен народ измежду всичките племена, които са по лицето на земята.

7 N ot because ye were more in number than all the peoples, hath Jehovah been attached to you and chosen you, for ye are the fewest of all the peoples;

Господ не ви предпочете нито ви избра, за гдето сте по-многочислени от всичките <други> племена; защото вие сте най-малочислени от всичките племена.

8 b ut because Jehovah loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath Jehovah brought you out with a powerful hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

Но понеже ви възлюби Господ и за да опази клетвата, с която се е клел на бащите ви, <за това> Господ ви изведе със силна ръка и ви изкупи от дома на робството, от ръката на египетския цар Фараона.

9 A nd thou shalt know that Jehovah thy God, he is God, the faithful God, who keepeth covenant and mercy to a thousand generations with them that love him and keep his commandments;

И тъй, да знаеш, че Господ твоят Бог, Той е Бог, верният Бог. Който пази до хиляда поколения завета и милостта към ония, които Го любят и пазят заповедите Му;

10 a nd repayeth them that hate him to his face, to cause them to perish: he delayeth not with him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.

а на ония, които Го мразят, въздава им в лице и ги изтребва; няма да забавя <наказанието> на онзи, който Го мрази, но ще му въздаде в лице.

11 A nd thou shalt keep the commandment, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which I command thee this day, to do them.

За това, пази заповедите, повеленията и съдбите, които днес ти заповядвам, за да ги вършиш.

12 A nd it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these ordinances, and keep and do them, that Jehovah thy God will keep with thee the covenant and the mercy which he swore unto thy fathers;

И ако слушате тия съдби и ги пазите и вършите, Господ твоят Бог ще пази за тебе завета и милостта, за която се е клел на бащите ти;

13 a nd he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee, and will bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy ground, thy corn and thy new wine, and thine oil, the offspring of thy kine, and the increase of thy sheep, in the land which he swore unto thy fathers to give thee.

и ще те възлюби, ще те благослови и ще те умножи; ще благослови и плода на утробата ти и плода на земята ти, житото ти, виното ти и маслото ти, и рожбите от говедата ти и малките от овците ти, в земята, за която се е клел на бащите ти да я даде на тебе.

14 T hou shalt be blessed above all the peoples; there shall not be male or female barren with thee, or with thy cattle;

Ще бъдеш благословен повече от всичките племена; не ще има неплоден или неплодна между вас или между добитъка ви.

15 a nd Jehovah will take away from thee all sickness, and none of the evil infirmities of Egypt, which thou knowest, will he put upon thee; but he will lay them upon all them that hate thee.

Господ ще отстрани от тебе всяка болест и няма да докара върху тебе ни една от злите египетски болести, които познаваш; но ще ги наложи върху всички ония, които те мразят.

16 A nd thou shalt consume all the peoples that Jehovah thy God will give up unto thee; thine eye shall not spare them, and thou shalt not serve their gods; for that would be a snare unto thee.

За това, да изтребиш всичките племена, които Господ твоят Бог ти предава; окото ти да ги не пожали; и на боговете им да не служиш, защото това ще ти бъде примка.

17 I f thou shouldest say in thy heart, These nations are greater than I; how can I dispossess them?

И ако речеш в сърцето си: Тия народи са по-многочислени от мене, как ще мога да ги изгоня? -

18 f ear them not; remember well what Jehovah thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all the Egyptians;

да се не уплашиш от тях; да помниш добре що направи Господ твоят Бог на Фараона и на всичките египтяни;

19 t he great trials which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the powerful hand, and the stretched-out arm, whereby Jehovah thy God brought thee out: so will Jehovah thy God do unto all the peoples whom thou fearest.

големите изпитни, които очите ти видяха, знаменията и чудесата, силната ръка и издигнатата мишца, с които Господ твоят Бог те изведе. Така ще направи Господ твоят Бог на всичките племена, от които ти се плашиш.

20 M oreover, Jehovah thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and they that hide themselves from thee, are destroyed.

Още Господ твоят Бог ще изпрати и стършели върху тях, догде бъдат изтребени останалите, които са се скрили от тебе.

21 T hou shalt not be afraid of them; for Jehovah thy God is in thy midst, a God great and terrible.

Да се не уплашиш от тях, защото Господ твоят Бог е всред тебе, Бог велик и страшен.

22 A nd Jehovah thy God will cast out those nations from before thee by little and little; thou shalt not be able to make an end of them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.

И Господ твоят Бог малко по малко ще изгони тия народи от пред тебе; не бива да ги изтребиш изведнъж, за да се не умножат върху тебе полските зверове.

23 B ut Jehovah thy God will give them up before thee, and will confound them with great consternation, until they are destroyed.

Но Господ твоят Бог ще ти ги предаде и ще ги разстройва с голямо разстройство, догде се изтребят.

24 A nd he will give their kings into thy hand, and thou shalt put out their name from under the heavens; no man shall stand before thee, until thou hast destroyed them.

Ще предаде и царете им в ръката ти, и ще заличиш името им под небето; никой не ще може да устои пред тебе догде не ги изтребиш.

25 T he graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire; thou shalt not covet the silver and gold on them and take it unto thee, lest thou be ensnared therein; for it is an abomination to Jehovah thy God.

Кумирите на боговете им изгаряйте с огън; да не пожелаеш да вземеш на себе си среброто или златото, което е върху тях, за да се не впримчиш в него, понеже това е мерзост пред Господа твоя Бог.

26 A nd thou shalt not bring an abomination into thy house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.

И да не внасяш в дома си никаква мерзост, за да не станеш обречен <на изтребление> като нея; съвършено да я мразиш и съвършено да се отвращаваш от нея, защото е обречена <на> изтребление.
