1 A nd Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, towards the south.

Така Аврам излезе от Египет, той, жена му и всичко що имаше, и Лот с него, <та замина> към южната страна.

2 A nd Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

Аврам беше много богат с добитък, сребро и злато.

3 A nd he went on his journeys from the south as far as Bethel; as far as the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai;

И от южната страна той минаваше постепенно дори до Ветил, до мястото, гдето от по-напред беше поставена шатрата му между Ветил и Гай,

4 t o the place of the altar that he had made there at the first. And there Abram called on the name of Jehovah.

до мястото, гдето първоначално беше издигнал олтара; и там Аврам призова Господното име.

5 A nd Lot also who went with Abram had flocks, and herds, and tents.

Също и Лот, който придружаваше Аврама, имаше овци, говеда и шатри.

6 A nd the land could not support them, that they might dwell together, for their property was great; and they could not dwell together.

И понеже земята не ги побираше да живеят заедно, тъй като имотът им беше много, и не можеха да живеят заедно,

7 A nd there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram's cattle and the herdsmen of Lot's cattle. And the Canaanite and the Perizzite were dwelling then in the land.

появи се спречкване между Аврамовите говедари и Лотовите говедари. (По това време ханаанците и ферезейците населяваха тая земя).

8 A nd Abram said to Lot, I pray thee let there be no contention between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen, for we are brethren.

Тогава Аврам рече на Лота: Да няма, моля ти се, спречкване между мене и тебе и между моите говедари и твоите говедари, защото ние сме братя.

9 I s not the whole land before thee? Separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if to the left, then I will take the right; and if to the right, then I will take the left.

Не е ли пред тебе цялата земя. Моля ти се, отдели се от мене; ти ако <идеш> наляво, то аз ще ида надясно; или ако ти <идеш> надясно, аз ще ида наляво.

10 A nd Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of the Jordan that it was thoroughly watered, before Jehovah had destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah; as the garden of Jehovah, like the land of Egypt, as one goes to Zoar.

Лот, прочее, подигна очи и разгледа цялата равнина на Иордан <и видя>, че беше добре напоявана доде се стигне в Сигор, (преди да беше разорил Господа Содома и Гомора), като Господната градина, като Египетската земя.

11 A nd Lot chose for himself all the plain of the Jordan; and Lot went toward the east. And they separated the one from the other:

За това Лот си избра цялата Иорданска равнина. И Лот тръгна към изток и се разделиха един от друг.

12 A bram dwelt in the land of Canaan; and Lot dwelt in the cities of the plain, and pitched tents as far as Sodom.

Аврам се засели в Ханаанската земя; а Лот се засели между градовете на <Иорданската> равнина, и преместваше шатрите си <докато стигна> до Содом.

13 A nd the people of Sodom were wicked, and great sinners before Jehovah.

А Содомските мъже бяха твърде нечестиви и грешни пред Господа.

14 A nd Jehovah said to Abram, after that Lot had separated himself from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art, northward and southward and eastward and westward;

И Господ каза на Аврама, след като се отдели Лот от него: Подигни сега очите си от мястото гдето си, та погледни към север и юг, изток и запад;

15 f or all the land that thou seest will I give to thee, and to thy seed for ever.

защото цялата земя, която виждаш, ще дам на тебе и на потомството ти до века.

16 A nd I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth, so that if any one can number the dust of the earth, thy seed also will be numbered.

И ще направя потомството ти <многочислено> като земния прах; така щото, ако може някой да изброи земния прах, то и твоето потомство ще изброи.

17 A rise, walk through the land according to the length of it and according to the breadth of it; for I will give it to thee.

Стани, обходи дължината на земята, защото на теб ще я дам.

18 T hen Abram moved tents, and came and dwelt by the oaks of Mamre, which are in Hebron. And he built there an altar to Jehovah.

Тогава Аврам премести шатрата си, дойде и се засели при Мамриевите дъбове, които са в Хеврон; и там издигна олтар на Господа.
