1 A nd it came to pass when Jabin king of Hazor heard, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,

А асорският цар Явин, като чу това, прати до мадонския цар Иовава, до симвронския цар, до ахсафския цар

2 a nd to the kings that were northward in the mountains, and in the plain south of Chinneroth, and in the lowland, and on the upland of Dor on the west,

и до царете, които бяха на север в хълмистата и в полянската земя на юг от Хинерот, и в долината, и в Нафат-дор {Или: Дорските височини.} на запад,

3 t o the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and to the Hivite at the foot of Hermon in the land of Mizpah.

и до ханаанците, които бяха на изток и на запад, и до аморейците, хетейците, ферезейците и евусейците в хълмистата земя, и до евейците под Ермон в земята Масфа.

4 A nd they went out, they and all their armies with them, a people numerous as the sand that is on the seashore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.

И те, и всичките им войнства с тях, люде много, по множество както е пясъкът, който е покрай морето, излязоха с твърде много коне и колесници.

5 A nd all these kings met together, and came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.

И като се събраха всички тия царе, дойдоха и заедно разположиха стана си близо при водата Мером, за да се бият с Израиля.

6 A nd Jehovah said to Joshua, Be not afraid because of them; for to-morrow about this time will I give them all up slain before Israel: their horses shalt thou hough, and thou shalt burn their chariots with fire.

Тогава Господ каза на Исуса: Да се не убоиш от тях; защото утре, около тоя час, Аз ще ги предам всички избити пред Израиля; и ще прережеш жилите на конете им, и ще изгориш с огън колесниците им.

7 A nd Joshua, and all the people of war with him, came upon them by the waters of Merom suddenly, and fell upon them.

Исус, прочее, и всичките военни люде с него, отидоха внезапно против тях при водата Мером, и ги нападнаха.

8 A nd Jehovah delivered them into the hand of Israel, and they smote them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and to Misrephoth-maim, and to the valley of Mizpah eastward, and smote them until none were left remaining to them.

И Господ ги предаде в ръката на Израиля; и те ги поразиха, и гониха ги до големия Сидон и до Мисрефот-маим, и до долината на Масфа на изток, и поразяваха ги догдето не оставиха от тях остатък.

9 A nd Joshua did to them as Jehovah had said to him: he houghed their horses, and burned their chariots with fire.

Исус им стори, според както Господ му заповяда: преряза жилите на конете им, и изгори с огън колесниците им.

10 A nd Joshua turned back at that time, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword; for Hazor was in times past the head of all those kingdoms.

В същото време Исус, като се върна, превзе Асор и уби царя му с нож; защото по-напред Асор държеше първенство между всички тия царства.

11 A nd they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, destroying them utterly: there was not any left to breathe; and he burned Hazor with fire.

И колкото души имаше в него, убиха с острото на ножа и ги изтребиха като обречени; не остана нищо, което дишаше; и изгори Асор с огън.

12 A nd all the cities of those kings and all their kings did Joshua take; and he smote them with the edge of the sword, destroying them utterly, as Moses the servant of Jehovah had commanded.

Исус превзе и всичките градове на ония царе, и всичките им царе хвана и ги уби с острото на ножа; изтреби ги според както бе заповядал Господният слуга Моисей.

13 O nly, all the cities that stood still upon their hills Israel did not burn, save Hazor alone, Joshua burned.

Но Израил не изгори никой от градовете, които стояха върху хълмовете си, освен един Асор; него Исус изгори.

14 A nd all the spoil of these cities and the cattle the children of Israel took as prey to themselves; only, they smote all the men with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them: they left none that breathed.

Всичките користи на тия градове и добитъкът израилтяните плениха за себе си, а всичките човеци убиваха с острото на ножа, догдето ги изтребиха; не оставиха нищо, което дишаше.

15 A s Jehovah had commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua: he let nothing fail of all that Jehovah had commanded Moses.

Както Господ беше заповядал на слугата Си Моисея, така заповяда Моисей на Исуса, така и стори Исус; не престъпи нищо от всичко, което Господ бе заповядал на Моисея.

16 A nd Joshua took all that land, the mountain and all the south, and all the land of Goshen, and the lowland, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and its lowland;

Така Исус превзе цялата оная хълмиста и цялата южна земя, и цялата Гесанска земя, равнината и полето, хълмистата и равна земя на Израиля,

17 f rom the smooth mountain, which rises toward Seir, as far as Baal-Gad in the valley of Lebanon, at the foot of mount Hermon; and he took all their kings, and smote them, and put them to death.

от нагорнището Халак, което отива към Сир, до Ваалгад в Ливанската долина под планината Ермон; и хвана всичките им царе, порази ги и ги уби.

18 J oshua made war a long time with all those kings.

Дълго време воюваше Исус против всички тия царе.

19 T here was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites who dwelt at Gibeon; they took all in battle.

Нямаше град, който сключи мир с израилтяните, освен евейците, които живееха в Гаваон; те превзеха всичките с бой.

20 F or it was of Jehovah that their heart was hardened, to meet Israel in battle, that they might be utterly destroyed, and that there might be no favour shewn to them, but that they might be destroyed, as Jehovah had commanded Moses.

Защото от Господа стана да се закоравят сърцата им та да излязат против Израиля на бой, за да ги обрече <Исус> на изтребление, за да не им се покаже милост, но за да ги изтреби, според както Господ беше заповядал на Моисея.

21 A nd Joshua came at that time and cut off the Anakim from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountain of Judah, and from all the mountain of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly, with their cities.

В онова време дойде Исус и изтреби енакимите от планинската земя, от Хеврон, от Девир, от Анав, и от цялата Юдова хълмиста земя, и от цялата Израилева хълмиста земя; Исус ги обрече на изтребление заедно с градовете им.

22 T here were none of the Anakim left in the land of the children of Israel; only at Gazah, at Gath, and at Ashdod there remained.

Не останаха енакими в земята на израилтяните; някои от тях останаха само в Газа, Гет и Азот.

23 A nd Joshua took the whole land, according to all that Jehovah had said to Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions, by their tribes. And the land rested from war.

Така Исус превзе цялата земя, според всичко що Господ беше казал на Моисея; Исус я даде на Израиля за наследство според както бяха разделени по племената си. И земята утихна от война.
