1 W hy boast you of mischief done against the loving-kindness of God, O mighty man, day after day?

Viteazule, ce te lauzi cu răutatea ta? Ce te lauzi, tu, care eşti toată ziua o ruşine pentru Dumnezeu?

2 Y our tongue devises wickedness; it is like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

Numai dezastru plănuieşte limba ta! Este ca un brici ascuţit, viclean ce eşti!

3 Y ou love evil more than good, and lying rather than to speak righteousness, justice, and right. Selah!

Tu iubeşti mai degrabă răul decât binele şi minciuna decât cuvântul drept. Sela

4 Y ou love all destroying and devouring words, O deceitful tongue.

Tu iubeşti numai cuvintele nimicitoare, limbă înşelătoare.

5 G od will likewise break you down and destroy you forever; He will lay hold of you and pluck you out of your tent and uproot you from the land of the living. Selah!

Dumnezeu te va doborî pe vecie; te va apuca şi te va smulge din cortul tău; te va dezrădăcina din pământul celor vii. Sela

6 T he righteous also shall see and be in reverent fear and awe, but about you they will laugh, saying,

Cei drepţi vor vedea şi se vor teme; vor râde de el:

7 S ee, this is the man who made not God his strength (his stronghold and high tower) but trusted in and confidently relied on the abundance of his riches, seeking refuge and security for himself through his wickedness.

„Acesta este omul care nu-L lua pe Dumnezeu drept refugiu al său, ci se încredea în marile lui bogăţii şi creştea în putere distrugându-i pe alţii.“

8 B ut I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in and confidently rely on the loving-kindness and the mercy of God forever and ever.

Eu însă sunt ca un măslin verde în Casa lui Dumnezeu, căci mă încred în îndurarea lui Dumnezeu pentru veci de veci.

9 I will thank You and confide in You forever, because You have done it. I will wait on, hope in and expect in Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your saints (Your kind and pious ones).

Te voi lăuda mereu pentru că ai lucrat; voi nădăjdui în Numele Tău, căci este binevoitor faţă de credincioşii Tăi!
