1 A nd He said to me, Son of man, stand upon your feet and I will speak to you.

El mi-a zis: „Fiul omului, stai în picioare şi-ţi voi vorbi!“

2 A nd the Spirit entered into me when He spoke to me and set me upon my feet, and I heard Him speaking to me.

Când mi-a vorbit, a venit un vânt spre mine şi m-a făcut să stau în picioare; şi am ascultat la Cel Ce-mi vorbea.

3 A nd He said to me, I send you, son of man, to the children of Israel, two rebellious nations that have rebelled against Me. They and their fathers have transgressed against Me even to this very day.

El mi-a mai zis: „Fiul omului, Eu te trimit la israeliţi, la aceste neamuri răzvrătite care s-au ridicat împotriva Mea! Atât ei, cât şi strămoşii lor s-au răzvrătit împotriva Mea până în ziua de azi.

4 A nd the children are impudent and hard of heart. I send you to them and you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord God.

Fiii la care te trimit Eu au feţe aspre şi inimi împietrite. Tu însă să le spui: «Aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn!»

5 A nd they, whether they will hear or refuse to hear—for they are a rebellious house—yet shall they know and realize that there has been a prophet among them.

Atunci fie că vor asculta, fie că nu vor asculta, – căci sunt o Casă răzvrătită –, vor şti totuşi că în mijlocul lor se află un profet.

6 A nd you, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words; though briers and thorns are all around you and you dwell and sit among scorpions, be not afraid of their words nor be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house.

Cât despre tine, fiul omului, să nu te temi nici de ei, nici de cuvintele lor! Chiar dacă spinii şi mărăcinii cresc lângă tine şi chiar dacă locuieşti printre scorpioni, să nu te temi de cuvintele lor şi să nu te înspăimânţi de feţele lor, căci ei sunt o Casă răzvrătită.

7 A nd you shall speak My words to them whether they will hear or refuse to hear, for they are most rebellious.

Să le vorbeşti cuvintele Mele, fie că vor asculta, fie că nu vor asculta – căci ei sunt nişte răzvrătiţi.

8 A s for you, son of man, hear what I say to you; be not rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you.

Totodată, fiul omului, ascultă ce am să-ţi spun! Nu fi răzvrătit ca această Casă răzvrătită! Deschide gura şi mănâncă ceea ce-ţi voi da!“

9 A nd when I looked, behold, a hand was stretched out to me and behold, a scroll of a book was in it.

M-am uitat şi am văzut o mână întinsă spre mine, iar în ea am văzut sulul unui document.

10 A nd He spread it before me and it was written within and on the back, and written on it were words of lamentation and mourning and woe.

El l-a desfăşurat înaintea mea. Sulul era scris pe ambele părţi, fiind plin de plângeri, bocete şi vaiete.
