1 T hen I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven, robed in a cloud, with a rainbow over his head; his face was like the sun, and his feet (legs) were like columns of fire.

Am văzut un alt înger puternic care cobora din cer învăluit într-un nor şi având deasupra capului un curcubeu. Faţa lui era ca soarele, picioarele îi erau ca nişte stâlpi de foc,

2 H e had a little book (scroll) open in his hand. He set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land,

şi în mână avea un sul mic, care era deschis. Şi-a pus piciorul drept pe mare, piciorul stâng pe uscat

3 A nd he shouted with a loud voice like the roaring of a lion; and when he had shouted, the seven thunders gave voice and uttered their message in distinct words.

şi a strigat cu glas puternic, aşa cum rage un leu. Când a strigat el, cele şapte tunete şi-au făcut auzite glasurile lor,

4 A nd when the seven thunders had spoken (sounded), I was going to write, but I heard a voice from heaven saying, Seal up what the seven thunders have said! Do not write it down!

iar când cele şapte tunete au vorbit, eram gata să scriu, însă din cer am auzit un glas zicând: „Pecetluieşte ceea ce au spus cele şapte tunete şi nu scrie!“

5 T hen the angel whom I had seen stationed on sea and land raised his right hand to heaven (the sky),

Îngerul pe care l-am văzut stând pe mare şi pe uscat şi-a ridicat mâna dreaptă spre cer

6 A nd swore in the name of (by) Him Who lives forever and ever, Who created the heavens ( sky) and all they contain, and the earth and all that it contains, and the sea and all that it contains. that no more time should intervene and there should be no more waiting or delay,

şi a jurat pe Cel Ce trăieşte în vecii vecilor, Care a creat cerul şi ceea ce este în el, pământul şi ceea ce este pe el şi marea şi ceea ce este în ea, că nu va mai fi nici o amânare,

7 B ut that when the days come when the trumpet call of the seventh angel is about to be sounded, then God’s mystery (His secret design, His hidden purpose), as He had announced the glad tidings to His servants the prophets, should be fulfilled (accomplished, completed).

ci în zilele când al şaptelea înger va suna din trâmbiţă, se va împlini taina lui Dumnezeu, aşa cum le-a vestit El robilor Săi, profeţii.

8 T hen the voice that I heard from heaven spoke again to me, saying, Go and take the little book (scroll) which is open on the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.

Glasul pe care l-am auzit din cer mi-a vorbit din nou şi mi-a zis: „Du-te şi ia sulul deschis din mâna îngerului care stă pe mare şi pe uscat!“

9 S o I went up to the angel and asked him to give me the little book. And he said to me, Take it and eat it. It will embitter your stomach, though in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.

M-am dus la înger şi i-am zis să-mi dea acel sul mic. El mi-a zis: „Ia-l şi mănâncă-l! Îţi va amărî stomacul, dar în gură îţi va fi dulce ca mierea.“

10 S o I took the little book from the angel’s hand and ate and swallowed it; it was as sweet as honey in my mouth, but once I had swallowed it, my stomach was embittered.

Am luat sulul din mâna îngerului şi l-am mâncat. În gura mea a fost dulce ca mierea, dar când l-am mâncat, stomacul mi s-a făcut amar.

11 T hen they said to me, You are to make a fresh prophecy concerning many peoples and races and nations and languages and kings.

Atunci el mi-a zis: „Trebuie să profeţeşti din nou despre multe popoare, neamuri, limbi şi regi!“
