1 A nd again I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, four chariots came out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of firm, immovable bronze.

Mi-am ridicat din nou ochii, m-am uitat şi am văzut patru care ieşind dintre doi munţi; erau nişte munţi de bronz.

2 T he first chariot had red or bay horses, the second chariot had black horses,

La primul car erau nişte cai roşii, la al doilea car erau cai negri,

3 T he third chariot had white horses, and the fourth chariot had dappled, active, and strong horses.

la al treilea car erau cai albi, iar la al patrulea car erau nişte cai tărcaţi, toţi cai puternici.

4 T hen I said to the angel who talked with me, What are these, my lord?

L-am întrebat atunci pe îngerul care vorbea cu mine: – Ce înseamnă acestea, stăpânul meu?

5 A nd the angel answered me, These are the four winds or spirits of the heavens, which go forth from presenting themselves before the Lord of all the earth.

Îngerul mi-a răspuns: – Acestea sunt cele patru vânturi ale cerurilor, care ies de unde le era locul, de lângă Stăpânul întregului pământ.

6 T he chariot with the black horses is going forth into the north country, and the white ones are going forth after them, and the dappled ones are going forth toward the south country.

Caii cei negri au pornit înspre ţinutul din nord, cei albi au pornit după ei, iar cei tărcaţi au pornit înspre ţinutul din sud.

7 A nd the strong went forth and sought to go that they might patrol the earth. And said to them, Go, walk to and fro through the earth and patrol it. So they walked about through the earth.

Când caii cei puternici au ieşit, erau dornici să meargă să străbată pământul. Îngerul le-a zis: «Duceţi-vă şi străbateţi pământul!» Şi ei l-au străbătut.

8 T hen He summoned me and said to me, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted My Spirit and have caused it to rest in the north country.

Apoi el m-a strigat şi mi-a vorbit astfel: – Priveşte, cei care se îndreaptă spre ţinutul din nord vor face ca Duhul Meu să se odihnească în acel ţinut!“ Promisiunea regelui-preot care va reconstrui Templul

9 A nd the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

După aceea, Cuvântul Domnului a venit la mine şi mi-a zis:

10 A ccept donations and offerings from these exiles, from Heldai, from Tobijah, and from Jedaiah, who have come from Babylon; and come the same day and go to the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah.

„Să iei argint şi aur de la exilaţii Heldai, Tobia şi Iedaia. Să te duci tu însuţi în ziua aceea şi să intri în casa lui Iosia, fiul lui Ţefania. Toţi aceştia au venit din Babilon.

11 Y es, take from them silver and gold, and make crowns and set upon the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest,

Să iei argint şi aur, să faci cu ele o coroană şi s-o pui pe capul marelui preot Iosua, fiul lui Iehoţadak.

12 A nd say to him, Thus says the Lord of hosts: behold (look at, keep in sight, watch) the Man whose name is the Branch, for He shall grow up in His place and He shall build the temple of the Lord.

Apoi să-i spui următoarele: «Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Oştirilor: ‘Iată-l pe omul, al cărui nume este Vlăstarul; el va da mlădiţe din el şi va zidi Templul Domnului!

13 Y es, it is He Who shall build the temple of the Lord, and He shall bear the honor and glory and shall sit and rule upon His throne. And He shall be a Priest upon His throne, and the counsel of peace shall be between the two.

Da, el va zidi Templul Domnului şi va avea parte de măreţie! El se va aşeza pe tronul lui şi va împărăţi! Totodată va fi şi preot pe tronul lui, existând armonie deplină între cele două îndatoriri!’»

14 A nd the crown shall be to Helem (Heldai), to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to the kindness and favor of Josiah the son of Zephaniah, and shall be in the temple of the Lord for a reminder and memorial.

Coroana va fi pentru Heldai, pentru Tobia, pentru Iedaia şi pentru Iosia, fiul lui Ţefania, ca o aducere aminte în Templul Domnului.

15 A nd those who are far off shall come and help build the temple of the Lord, and you shall know (recognize and understand) that the Lord sent me to you. And shall come to pass if you will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

Chiar şi cei de departe vor veni şi vor zidi Templul Domnului! Şi veţi şti astfel că Domnul Oştirilor M-a trimis la voi. Aceasta însă se va întâmpla dacă veţi asculta cu atenţie de glasul Domnului, Dumnezeul vostru.“
