1 N ow when Jesus had finished saying these things, He left Galilee and went into the part of Judea that is beyond the Jordan;

După ce a terminat de rostit aceste cuvinte, Isus a plecat din Galileea şi a venit în regiunea Iudeii, dincolo de Iordan.

2 A nd great throngs accompanied Him, and He cured them there.

L-au urmat mulţimi mari de oameni şi acolo El i-a vindecat pe cei bolnavi.

3 A nd Pharisees came to Him and put Him to the test by asking, Is it lawful and right to dismiss and repudiate and divorce one’s wife for any and every cause?

Nişte farisei au venit la El, ca să-L pună la încercare, şi L-au întrebat: – Are voie un bărbat să divorţeze de soţia lui din orice motiv?

4 H e replied, Have you never read that He Who made them from the beginning made them male and female,

Isus le-a răspuns: – Oare n-aţi citit că de la început Creatorul „i-a făcut bărbat şi femeie“ ?

5 A nd said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be united firmly (joined inseparably) to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh?

Şi apoi a zis: „De aceea bărbatul îşi va lăsa tatăl şi mama şi se va uni cu soţia lui, iar cei doi vor deveni un singur trup“.

6 S o they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder (separate).

Aşa că nu mai sunt doi, ci un singur trup! Deci ceea ce Dumnezeu a unit, omul să nu despartă!

7 T hey said to Him, Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce and thus to dismiss and repudiate a wife?

Ei au zis: – Atunci de ce a poruncit Moise ca bărbatul să-i dea soţiei o carte de despărţire şi s-o lase să plece?

8 H e said to them, Because of the hardness (stubbornness and perversity) of your hearts Moses permitted you to dismiss and repudiate and divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been so.

Isus le-a răspuns: – Din cauza inimilor voastre împietrite v-a dat voie Moise să vă lăsaţi soţiile, însă la început nu a fost aşa.

9 I say to you: whoever dismisses (repudiates, divorces) his wife, except for unchastity, and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Eu însă vă spun că cel ce divorţează de soţia lui, în afară de cazul în care este vorba de adulter, şi se căsătoreşte cu altcineva comite adulter.

10 T he disciples said to Him, If the case of a man with his wife is like this, it is neither profitable nor advisable to marry.

Ucenicii I-au zis: – Dacă astfel stau lucrurile cu soţul şi soţia, nu merită să te căsătoreşti!

11 B ut He said to them, Not all men can accept this saying, but it is for those to whom it has been given.

Dar El le-a răspuns: – Nu toţi pot primi cuvântul acesta, ci numai aceia cărora le-a fost dat.

12 F or there are eunuchs who have been born incapable of marriage; and there are eunuchs who have been made so by men; and there are eunuchs who have made themselves incapable of marriage for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let him who is able to accept this accept it.

Căci există eunuci care s-au născut aşa din pântecele mamei lor, există eunuci care au fost făcuţi eunuci de către oameni şi există eunuci care s-au făcut eunuci de dragul Împărăţiei Cerurilor. Cel ce poate să primească cuvântul acesta, să-l primească! Isus şi copilaşii

13 T hen little children were brought to Jesus, that He might put His hands on them and pray; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them.

Atunci au fost aduşi la El nişte copilaşi, ca să-Şi pună mâinile peste ei şi să se roage pentru ei, dar ucenicii i-au mustrat pe cei care i-au adus.

14 B ut He said, Leave the children alone! Allow the little ones to come to Me, and do not forbid or restrain or hinder them, for of such is the kingdom of heaven composed.

Isus însă le-a zis: „Lăsaţi copilaşii să vină la Mine şi nu-i opriţi, pentru că Împărăţia Cerurilor este a celor ca ei!“

15 A nd He put His hands upon them, and then went on His way.

Apoi Şi-a pus mâinile peste ei şi a plecat de acolo. Isus şi tânărul bogat

16 A nd behold, there came a man up to Him, saying, Teacher, what excellent and perfectly and essentially good deed must I do to possess eternal life?

Şi iată că un om a venit la El şi L-a întrebat: – Învăţătorule, ce lucru bun să fac, ca să am viaţă veşnică?

17 A nd He said to him, Why do you ask Me about the perfectly and essentially good? There is only One Who is good —God. If you would enter into the Life, you must continually keep the commandments.

Isus i-a răspuns: – De ce Mă întrebi despre „ce lucru bun“? Cel Ce este bun este Unul singur! Dar dacă vrei să intri în viaţă, împlineşte poruncile!

18 H e said to Him, What sort of commandments? And Jesus answered, You shall not kill, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness,

– Care? L-a întrebat acesta. Isus i-a răspuns: – „Să nu ucizi“, „Să nu comiţi adulter“, „Să nu furi“, „Să nu depui mărturie falsă“,

19 H onor your father and your mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

„Cinsteşte-i pe tatăl tău şi pe mama ta“ şi „Să-l iubeşti pe semenul tău ca pe tine însuţi“.

20 T he young man said, I have observed all these from my youth; what still do I lack?

Tânărul I-a spus: – Pe toate acestea le-am împlinit. Ce-mi mai lipseşte?

21 J esus answered him, If you would be perfect '> have that spiritual maturity which accompanies self-sacrificing character], go and sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven; and come, be My disciple.

Isus i-a răspuns: – Dacă vrei să fii desăvârşit, du-te, vinde-ţi averile şi dă săracilor, şi vei avea astfel o comoară în ceruri. Apoi vino, urmează-Mă!

22 B ut when the young man heard this, he went away sad (grieved and in much distress), for he had great possessions.

Când a auzit cuvintele acestea, tânărul a plecat întristat, pentru că avea multe posesiuni.

23 A nd Jesus said to His disciples, Truly I say to you, it will be difficult for a rich man to get into the kingdom of heaven.

Isus le-a zis ucenicilor Săi: – Adevărat vă spun că cu greu va intra cel bogat în Împărăţia Cerurilor!

24 A gain I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go into the kingdom of heaven.

Şi vă mai spun că este mai uşor să treacă o cămilă prin urechea acului, decât să intre cel bogat în Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu!

25 W hen the disciples heard this, they were utterly puzzled (astonished, bewildered), saying, Who then can be saved '> from eternal death]?

Când au auzit lucrul acesta, ucenicii au rămas foarte uimiţi şi s -au întrebat: „Atunci cine poate fi mântuit?“

26 B ut Jesus looked at them and said, With men this is impossible, but all things are possible with God.

Isus i-a privit ţintă şi le-a zis: – Lucrul acesta este imposibil pentru oameni, dar pentru Dumnezeu toate lucrurile sunt posibile.

27 T hen Peter answered Him, saying, Behold, we have left all and have become Your disciples. What then shall we receive?

Atunci Petru I-a zis: – Iată, noi am lăsat totul şi Te-am urmat. Noi ce vom avea?

28 J esus said to them, Truly I say to you, in the new age '> Messianic rebirth of the world], when the Son of Man shall sit down on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones and judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

Isus le-a zis: – Adevărat vă spun că la reînnoirea tuturor lucrurilor, când Fiul Omului va sta pe tronul slavei Sale, voi, cei care M-aţi urmat, veţi sta, de asemenea, pe douăsprezece tronuri şi le veţi judeca pe cele douăsprezece seminţii ale lui Israel.

29 A nd anyone and everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands for My name’s sake will receive many times more and will inherit eternal life.

Şi oricine îşi lasă case sau fraţi, sau surori, sau tată, sau mamă, sau copii, sau ogoare de dragul Numelui Meu, va primi de o sută de ori mai mult şi va moşteni viaţa veşnică.

30 B ut many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.

Dar mulţi dintre cei dintâi vor fi cei din urmă, iar cei din urmă vor fi cei dintâi.
