1 A reed was then given to me, like a staff, and I was told: Rise up and measure the sanctuary of God and the altar, and those who worship there.

Mi-a fost dată o trestie asemenea unui băţ şi mi s-a spus: „Ridică-te şi măsoară Templul lui Dumnezeu, altarul şi pe cei ce se închină acolo!

2 B ut leave out of your measuring the court outside the sanctuary of God; omit that, for it is given over to the Gentiles (the nations), and they will trample the holy city underfoot for 42 months (three and one-half years).

Curtea exterioară a Templului s-o laşi la o parte şi să n-o măsori, pentru că ea a fost dată neamurilor, care vor călca în picioare Cetatea Sfântă timp de patruzeci şi două de luni.

3 A nd I will grant the power of prophecy to My two witnesses for 1, 260 (42 months; three and one-half years), dressed in sackcloth.

Le voi da celor doi martori ai mei autoritatea să profeţească o mie două sute şaizeci de zile, îmbrăcaţi în sac.“

4 T hese are the two olive trees and the two lampstands which stand before the Lord of the earth.

Aceştia sunt cei doi măslini şi cele două sfeşnice care stau înaintea Domnului pământului.

5 A nd if anyone attempts to injure them, fire pours from their mouth and consumes their enemies; if anyone should attempt to harm them, thus he is doomed to be slain.

Dacă cineva vrea să le facă rău, din gurile lor iese foc care-i mistuie pe duşmanii lor. Deci, dacă vrea cineva să le facă rău trebuie să fie omorât în acest fel.

6 T hese have power to shut up the sky, so that no rain may fall during the days of their prophesying (their prediction of events relating to Christ’s kingdom and its speedy triumph); and they also have power to turn the waters into blood and to smite and scourge the earth with all manner of plagues as often as they choose.

Ei au autoritatea să închidă cerul, ca să nu mai cadă ploaie în zilele profeţiei lor. Ei au autoritate peste ape, ca să le transforme în sânge, şi să lovească pământul cu orice fel de urgie, cât de des doresc ei.

7 B ut when they have finished their testimony and their evidence is all in, the beast (monster) that comes up out of the Abyss (bottomless pit) will wage war on them, and conquer them and kill them.

Când îşi vor fi terminat de depus mărturia, fiara care se ridică din Adânc va purta război cu ei, îi va învinge şi-i va omorî.

8 A nd their dead bodies in the open street ( a public square) of the great city which is in a spiritual sense called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

Cadavrele lor vor zăcea pe strada marii cetăţi, care, în mod figurat, este numită „Sodoma“ şi „Egipt“, unde a fost răstignit şi Domnul lor.

9 F or three and a half days men from the races and tribes and languages and nations will gaze at their dead bodies and will not allow them to be put in a tomb.

Oameni din orice popor, seminţie, limbă şi neam se vor uita la cadavrele lor timp de trei zile şi jumătate şi nu vor da voie ca acestea să fie puse în mormânt.

10 A nd those who dwell on the earth will gloat and exult over them and rejoice exceedingly, taking their ease and sending presents to one another, because these two prophets had been such a vexation and trouble and torment to all the dwellers on the earth.

Locuitorii pământului se vor bucura de ei, vor sărbători şi îşi vor trimite daruri unii altora, căci aceşti doi profeţi îi chinuiseră pe locuitorii pământului.

11 B ut after three and a half days, by God’s gift the breath of life again entered into them, and they rose up on their feet, and great dread and terror fell on those who watched them.

Dar după trei zile şi jumătate, o suflare de viaţă de la Dumnezeu a intrat în ei, şi ei s-au ridicat în picioare; şi o mare frică i-a cuprins pe cei ce i-au văzut.

12 T hen heard a strong voice from heaven calling to them, Come up here! And before the very eyes of their enemies they ascended into heaven in a cloud.

Apoi ei au auzit un glas puternic din cer, care le-a spus: „Suiţi-vă aici!“ Şi ei s-au suit în cer, într-un nor, în timp ce duşmanii lor se uitau la ei.

13 A nd at that hour there was a tremendous earthquake and one tenth of the city was destroyed (fell); seven thousand people perished in the earthquake, and those who remained were filled with dread and terror and were awe-struck, and they glorified the God of heaven.

Chiar în ceasul acela a avut loc un mare cutremur şi s-a prăbuşit a zecea parte din cetate. Şapte mii de oameni au murit în acel cutremur, iar cei care au rămas s-au înfricoşat şi au dat slavă Dumnezeului cerului.

14 T he second woe (calamity) has passed; now the third woe is speedily to come.

Al doilea „vai“ s-a dus. Iată că al treilea „vai“ vine repede. A şaptea trâmbiţă

15 T he seventh angel then blew trumpet, and there were mighty voices in heaven, shouting, The dominion (kingdom, sovereignty, rule) of the world has now come into the possession and become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ (the Messiah), and He shall reign forever and ever (for the eternities of the eternities)!

Al şaptelea înger a sunat din trâmbiţă. Şi în cer s-au auzit glasuri puternice care ziceau: „Împărăţia lumii a devenit Împărăţia Domnului nostru şi a Cristosului Său; iar El va împărăţi în vecii vecilor!“

16 T hen the twenty-four elders '> the heavenly Sanhedrin], who sit on their thrones before God, prostrated themselves before Him and worshiped,

Cei douăzeci şi patru de bătrâni care şedeau pe tronurile lor înaintea lui Dumnezeu au căzut cu feţele la pământ şi I s-au închinat lui Dumnezeu,

17 E xclaiming, To You we give thanks, Lord God Omnipotent, Who is and was, for assuming the high sovereignty and the great power that are Yours and for beginning to reign.

zicând: „Îţi mulţumim Ţie, Doamne, Dumnezeule Atotputernic, Care eşti şi Care erai, pentru că Ţi-ai luat puterea Ta cea mare şi ai început să împărăţeşti!

18 A nd the heathen (the nations) raged, but Your wrath (retribution, indignation) came, the time when the dead will be judged and Your servants the prophets and saints rewarded—and those who revere (fear) Your name, both low and high and small and great—and for destroying the corrupters of the earth.

Neamurile erau mânioase, dar a venit mânia Ta, a venit timpul ca morţii să fie judecaţi, a venit timpul să dai răsplată robilor Tăi, profeţii, sfinţilor şi celor ce se tem de Numele Tău, celor mici şi celor mari şi a venit timpul să-i distrugi pe cei ce au distrus pământul!“

19 T hen the sanctuary of God in heaven was thrown open, and the ark of His covenant was seen standing inside in His sanctuary; and there were flashes of lightning, loud rumblings (blasts, mutterings), peals of thunder, an earthquake, and a terrific hailstorm.

Apoi a fost deschis Templul lui Dumnezeu din cer şi în interiorul Templului a fost văzut Chivotul Legământului. Şi au fost fulgere, sunete, tunete, cutremur şi grindină mare.
