1 N ow after this the Lord chose and appointed seventy others and sent them out ahead of Him, two by two, into every town and place where He Himself was about to come (visit).

După toate acestea, Domnul a rânduit alţi şaptezeci şi doi de oameni şi i-a trimis, doi câte doi, să se ducă înaintea Lui în orice cetate şi în orice loc pe unde urma să meargă El.

2 A nd He said to them, The harvest indeed is abundant '> there is much ripe grain], but the farmhands are few. Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

El le-a zis: „Secerişul este mare, dar lucrătorii sunt puţini! Rugaţi-L deci pe Domnul secerişului să trimită lucrători la secerişul Său!

3 G o your way; behold, I send you out like lambs into the midst of wolves.

Duceţi-vă! Iată, eu vă trimit ca pe nişte miei în mijlocul lupilor!

4 C arry no purse, no provisions bag, no sandals; refrain from saluting and wishing anyone well along the way.

Să nu luaţi cu voi nici pungă cu bani, nici traistă, nici sandale şi să nu salutaţi pe nimeni pe drum!

5 W hatever house you enter, first say, Peace be to this household! '> Freedom from all the distresses that result from sin be with this family].

În orice casă intraţi, să spuneţi mai întâi: «Pacea să fie peste această casă!»

6 A nd if anyone of peace and blessedness is there, the peace and blessedness you wish shall come upon him; but if not, it shall come back to you.

Dacă se află acolo un fiu al păcii, pacea voastră se va odihni peste el, dar dacă nu, se va întoarce la voi.

7 A nd stay on in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not keep moving from house to house.

Rămâneţi în casa aceea şi mâncaţi şi beţi ce vă vor da, căci vrednic este lucrătorul de plata lui! Să nu vă mutaţi dintr-o casă într-alta!

8 W henever you go into a town and they receive and accept and welcome you, eat what is set before you;

În orice cetate în care intraţi şi oamenii vă primesc, să mâncaţi ce vi se va pune înainte!

9 A nd heal the sick in it and say to them, The kingdom of God has come close to you.

Vindecaţi-i pe cei bolnavi de acolo şi spuneţi-le: «Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu s-a apropiat de voi!»

10 B ut whenever you go into a town and they do not receive and accept and welcome you, go out into its streets and say,

Dacă însă în cetatea în care intraţi, oamenii nu vă primesc, să ieşiţi pe străzile ei şi să ziceţi:

11 E ven the dust of your town that clings to our feet we are wiping off against you; yet know and understand this: the kingdom of God has come near you.

«Ne ştergem până şi praful care ni s-a adunat pe picioare în cetatea voastră, ca mărturie împotriva voastră! Totuşi, să ştiţi că Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu s-a apropiat!»

12 I tell you, it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that town.

Vă spun că în ziua aceea va fi mai uşor pentru Sodoma decât pentru cetatea aceea!

13 W oe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty miracles performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

Vai de tine, Horazin! Vai de tine, Betsaida! Căci dacă ar fi avut loc în Tir şi Sidon minunile care au avut loc în voi, de multă vreme s-ar fi pocăit stând în sac şi cenuşă!

14 H owever, it shall be more tolerable in the judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you.

Dar la judecată va fi mai uşor pentru Tir şi Sidon decât pentru voi!

15 A nd you, Capernaum, will you be exalted unto heaven? You shall be brought down to Hades (the regions of the dead).

Iar tu, Capernaum, vei fi înălţat oare până la cer? Nu, ci vei coborî până în Locuinţa Morţilor!

16 H e who hears and heeds you hears and heeds Me; and he who slights and rejects you slights and rejects Me; and he who slights and rejects Me slights and rejects Him who sent Me.

Cel ce vă ascultă pe voi, Mă ascultă pe Mine şi cel ce vă respinge pe voi, Mă respinge pe Mine, iar cel ce Mă respinge pe Mine Îl respinge pe Cel Ce M-a trimis pe Mine.“

17 T he seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name!

Cei şaptezeci şi doi s-au întors plini de bucurie şi I-au zis: – Doamne, chiar şi demonii ni se supun în Numele Tău!

18 A nd He said to them, I saw Satan falling like a lightning from heaven.

Însă El le-a zis: – L-am văzut pe Satan căzând din cer ca un fulger.

19 B ehold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power that the enemy; and nothing shall in any way harm you.

Iată, v-am dat autoritate să călcaţi peste şerpi, peste scorpioni şi peste toată puterea duşmanului, şi nimic nu vă va răni!

20 N evertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are enrolled in heaven.

Totuşi, nu vă bucuraţi de faptul că duhurile vi se supun, ci bucuraţi-vă de faptul că numele voastre sunt scrise în ceruri!

21 I n that same hour He rejoiced and gloried in the Holy Spirit and said, I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have concealed these things from the wise and understanding and learned, and revealed them to babes (the childish, unskilled, and untaught). Yes, Father, for such was Your gracious will and choice and good pleasure.

În ceasul acela, Isus s-a bucurat nespus în Duhul Sfânt şi a zis: „Îţi mulţumesc, Tată, Doamne al cerului şi al pământului, pentru că ai ascuns aceste lucruri de cei înţelepţi şi pricepuţi şi le-ai descoperit copilaşilor! Da, Tată, pentru că aşa Ţi-a plăcut Ţie...“

22 A ll things have been given over into My power by My Father; and no one knows Who the Son is except the Father, or Who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son may choose to reveal and make Him known.

„Toate lucrurile Mi-au fost încredinţate Mie de către Tatăl Meu. Nimeni nu cunoaşte cine este Fiul, în afară de Tatăl, sau cine este Tatăl, în afară de Fiul şi de cel căruia vrea Fiul să i-L descopere.“

23 T hen turning to His disciples, He said privately, Blessed (happy, to be envied) are those whose eyes see what you see!

Apoi S-a întors spre ucenici şi le-a zis doar lor: „Ferice de ochii care văd lucrurile pe care le vedeţi voi!

24 F or I tell you that many prophets and kings longed to see what you see and they did not see it, and to hear what you hear and they did not hear it.

Vă spun că mulţi profeţi şi regi au dorit să vadă ceea ce vedeţi voi, dar n-au văzut, şi să audă ceea ce auziţi voi, dar n-au auzit!“ Pilda samariteanului milostiv

25 A nd then a certain lawyer arose to try (test, tempt) Him, saying, Teacher, what am I to do to inherit everlasting life ?

Chiar atunci un expert în Lege s-a ridicat să-L pună la încercare pe Isus şi L-a întrebat: – Învăţătorule, ce să fac ca să moştenesc viaţă veşnică?

26 J esus said to him, What is written in the Law? How do you read it?

Isus i-a răspuns: – Ce este scris în Lege? Ce citeşti acolo?

27 A nd he replied, You must love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.

El I-a zis: – „Să-L iubeşti pe Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, cu toată inima ta, cu tot sufletul tău, cu toată puterea ta şi cu toată mintea ta şi pe semenul tău ca pe tine însuţi!“

28 A nd Jesus said to him, You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.

Isus i-a zis: – Ai răspuns corect. Fă aşa şi vei trăi!

29 A nd he, determined to acquit himself of reproach, said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor?

Dar el, care voia să se justifice, L-a întrebat pe Isus: – Şi cine este semenul meu?

30 J esus, taking him up, replied, A certain man was going from Jerusalem down to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him of his clothes and belongings and beat him and went their way, '> unconcernedly] leaving him half dead, as it happened.

Isus i-a răspuns: – Un om care cobora de la Ierusalim la Ierihon a căzut în mâinile tâlharilor. Ei l-au dezbrăcat, l-au bătut zdravăn şi apoi au plecat, lăsându-l pe jumătate mort.

31 N ow by coincidence a certain priest was going down along that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

Din întâmplare, pe acel drum cobora un preot. Dar când l-a văzut, preotul a trecut înainte, ocolindu-l.

32 A Levite likewise came down to the place and saw him, and passed by on the other side.

Tot aşa şi un levit, când a ajuns în locul acela şi l-a văzut, a trecut înainte ocolindu-l.

33 B ut a certain Samaritan, as he traveled along, came down to where he was; and when he saw him, he was moved with pity and sympathy,

Însă un samaritean, care călătorea şi el pe acolo, când a ajuns în dreptul lui şi l-a văzut, i s-a făcut milă de el.

34 A nd went to him and dressed his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own beast and brought him to an inn and took care of him.

S-a apropiat, i-a bandajat rănile şi a turnat peste ele untdelemn şi vin. Apoi l-a pus pe propriul lui animal de povară, l-a dus la un han şi a continuat să-l îngrijească.

35 A nd the next day he took out two denarii and gave to the innkeeper, saying, Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I return.

În ziua următoare, a scos doi denari, i-a dat hangiului şi i-a zis: „Ai grijă de el, iar când mă voi întoarce, îţi voi plăti eu orice vei mai cheltui în plus!“

36 W hich of these three do you think proved himself a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?

Care dintre aceştia trei ţi se pare că a fost semenul celui căzut în mâinile tâlharilor?

37 H e answered, The one who showed pity and mercy to him. And Jesus said to him, Go and do likewise.

El I-a răspuns: – Cel ce şi-a făcut milă de el. Isus i-a zis: – Du-te şi fă şi tu la fel! Acasă la Marta şi Maria

38 N ow while they were on their way, it occurred that Jesus entered a certain village, and a woman named Martha received and welcomed Him into her house.

În timp ce-şi continuau călătoria, Isus a intrat într-un sat oarecare. Acolo, o femeie, pe nume Marta, L-a primit în casa ei.

39 A nd she had a sister named Mary, who seated herself at the Lord’s feet and was listening to His teaching.

Ea avea o soră, numită Maria. Aceasta s-a aşezat la picioarele Domnului şi asculta cuvintele Lui.

40 B ut Martha was distracted with much serving; and she came up to Him and said, Lord, is it nothing to You that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me!

Marta însă era copleşită de atât de multă slujire. Ea a venit şi a zis: – Doamne, nu-Ţi pasă că sora mea m-a lăsat să slujesc singură? Spune-i deci să mă ajute!

41 B ut the Lord replied to her by saying, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things;

Domnul însă i-a răspuns: – Marta, Marta, tu te îngrijorezi şi te necăjeşti cu privire la multe lucruri,

42 T here is need of only one or but a few things. Mary has chosen the good portion '> that which is to her advantage], which shall not be taken away from her.

însă doar unul este necesar! Căci Maria şi-a ales partea cea bună, care nu i se va lua!
