1 A fter this I saw four angels stationed at the four corners of the earth, firmly holding back the four winds of the earth so that no wind should blow on the earth or sea or upon any tree.

După aceea, am văzut patru îngeri care stăteau la cele patru colţuri ale pământului, ţinând cele patru vânturi ale pământului, pentru ca nici un vânt să nu mai sufle pe pământ, pe mare sau peste vreun copac.

2 T hen I saw a second angel coming up from the east (the rising of the sun) and carrying the seal of the living God. And with a loud voice he called out to the four angels who had been given authority and power to injure earth and sea,

Am văzut un alt înger care urca de la răsăritul soarelui şi care avea sigiliul Dumnezeului celui Viu. El a strigat cu glas puternic spre cei patru îngeri cărora le fusese dat să facă rău pământului şi mării,

3 S aying, Harm neither the earth nor the sea nor the trees, until we have sealed the bond servants of our God upon their foreheads.

zicând: „Nu faceţi rău nici pământului, nici mării, nici copacilor până nu vom pune sigiliul pe fruntea robilor Dumnezeului nostru!“

4 A nd I heard how many were sealed (marked) out of every tribe of the sons of Israel: there were 144, 000.

Şi am auzit numărul celor ce fuseseră pecetluiţi: fuseseră pecetluiţi o sută patruzeci şi patru de mii din toate seminţiile fiilor lui Israel:

5 T welve thousand were sealed (marked) out of the tribe of Judah, 12, 000 of the tribe of Reuben, 12, 000 of the tribe of Gad,

din seminţia lui Iuda au fost pecetluiţi douăsprezece mii; din seminţia lui Ruben – douăsprezece mii; din seminţia lui Gad – douăsprezece mii;

6 T welve thousand of the tribe of Asher, 12, 000 of the tribe of Naphtali, 12, 000 of the tribe of Manasseh,

din seminţia lui Aşer – douăsprezece mii; din seminţia lui Neftali – douăsprezece mii; din seminţia lui Manase – douăsprezece mii;

7 T welve thousand of the tribe of Simeon, 12, 000 of the tribe of Levi, 12, 000 of the tribe of Issachar,

din seminţia lui Simeon – douăsprezece mii; din seminţia lui Levi – douăsprezece mii; din seminţia lui Isahar – douăsprezece mii;

8 T welve thousand of the tribe of Zebulun, 12, 000 of the tribe of Joseph, 12, 000 of the tribe of Benjamin.

din seminţia lui Zabulon – douăsprezece mii; din seminţia lui Iosif – douăsprezece mii; din seminţia lui Beniamin – douăsprezece mii au fost pecetluiţi. Marea mulţime în robe albe

9 A fter this I looked and a vast host appeared which no one could count, of every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages. These stood before the throne and before the Lamb; they were attired in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.

După toate acestea, m-am uitat şi iată că era o mare mulţime, pe care nimeni n-o putea număra, din toate neamurile, seminţiile, popoarele şi limbile. Stăteau înaintea tronului şi înaintea Mielului, erau îmbrăcaţi în robe albe şi aveau ramuri de palmier în mâini.

10 I n loud voice they cried, saying, salvation is due to our God, Who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!

Ei strigau cu glas tare: „Mântuirea este a Dumnezeului nostru, Care şade pe tron, şi a Mielului!“

11 A nd all the angels were standing round the throne and round the elders '> of the heavenly Sanhedrin] and the four living creatures, and they fell prostrate before the throne and worshiped God.

Toţi îngerii stăteau de jur împrejurul tronului, al bătrânilor şi al celor patru fiinţe vii. Ei au căzut cu feţele la pământ înaintea tronului şi I s-au închinat lui Dumnezeu,

12 A men! (So be it!) they cried. Blessing and glory and majesty and splendor and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and might to our God to the ages and ages (forever and ever, throughout the eternities of the eternities)! Amen! (So be it!)

spunând: „Amin! Lauda şi slava, înţelepciunea şi mulţumirea, onoarea, puterea şi tăria să fie ale Dumnezeului nostru în vecii vecilor! Amin.“

13 T hen, addressing me, one of the elders '> of the heavenly Sanhedrin] said, Who are these clothed in the long white robes? And from where have they come?

Unul dintre bătrâni m-a întrebat: – Cine sunt aceştia îmbrăcaţi în robe albe şi de unde au venit?

14 I replied, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are they who have come out of the great tribulation (persecution), and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

I-am răspuns: – Domnule, tu ştii! El mi-a zis: – Aceştia sunt cei care vin din necazul cel mare; ei şi-au spălat hainele şi le-au albit în sângele Mielului.

15 F or this reason they are before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His sanctuary (temple); and He Who is sitting upon the throne will protect and spread His tabernacle over and shelter them with His presence.

De aceea sunt ei înaintea tronului lui Dumnezeu şi I se închină zi şi noapte, în Templul Lui; iar Cel Ce şade pe tron Îşi va întinde cortul peste ei.

16 T hey shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun smite them, nor any scorching heat.

Nu le va mai fi nici foame, nici sete şi nu va mai cădea peste ei arşiţa soarelui, nici vreo altă căldură arzătoare,

17 F or the Lamb Who is in the midst of the throne will be their Shepherd, and He will guide them to the springs of the waters of life; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

pentru că Mielul din mijlocul tronului îi va păstori şi îi va conduce la izvoarele apelor vieţii, iar Dumnezeu va şterge orice lacrimă din ochii lor.
