1 A nd Jesus summoned to Him His twelve disciples and gave them power and authority over unclean spirits, to drive them out, and to cure all kinds of disease and all kinds of weakness and infirmity.

Isus i-a chemat la El pe cei doisprezece ucenici ai Săi şi le-a dat autoritate să scoată afară duhurile necurate şi să vindece orice boală şi orice neputinţă.

2 N ow these are the names of the twelve apostles (special messengers): first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

Iată care sunt numele celor doisprezece apostoli: cel dintâi, Simon, care este numit Petru, şi Andrei, fratele lui; Iacov, fiul lui Zebedei, şi Ioan, fratele lui;

3 P hilip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;

Filip şi Bartolomeu; Toma şi Matei, colectorul de taxe; Iacov, fiul lui Alfeu, şi Tadeu;

4 S imon the Cananaean, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.

Simon, zelotul, şi Iuda Iscarioteanul, cel care L-a trădat pe Isus.

5 J esus sent out these twelve, charging them, Go nowhere among the Gentiles and do not go into any town of the Samaritans;

Pe aceştia doisprezece i-a trimis Isus, poruncindu-le următoarele: „Să nu mergeţi printre neamuri şi să nu intraţi în vreo cetate de-a samaritenilor,

6 B ut go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7 A nd as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand!

Iar în timp ce mergeţi, vestiţi şi ziceţi: «Împărăţia Cerurilor este aproape!»

8 C ure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Freely (without pay) you have received, freely (without charge) give.

Vindecaţi-i pe cei bolnavi, înviaţi-i pe cei morţi, curăţiţi-i pe cei leproşi, scoateţi afară demonii! Fără plată aţi primit, fără plată să daţi!

9 T ake no gold nor silver nor copper money in your purses (belts);

Să nu luaţi nici aur, nici argint, nici aramă în brâiele voastre,

10 A nd do not take a provision bag or a wallet for a collection bag for your journey, nor two undergarments, nor sandals, nor a staff; for the workman deserves his support (his living, his food).

nici traistă de călătorie, nici două tunici, nici sandale şi nici toiag, căci vrednic este lucrătorul de hrana lui!

11 A nd into whatever town or village you go, inquire who in it is deserving, and stay there until you leave.

În orice cetate sau sat intraţi, interesaţi-vă cine de acolo este vrednic şi rămâneţi la el până veţi pleca.

12 A s you go into the house, give your greetings and wish it well.

La intrarea voastră în casă, salutaţi-l!

13 T hen if indeed that house is deserving, let come upon it your peace '> freedom from all the distresses that are experienced as the result of sin]. But if it is not deserving, let your peace return to you.

Dacă familia aceea este vrednică, pacea voastră să vină peste ea, dar dacă nu este vrednică, pacea voastră să se întoarcă la voi!

14 A nd whoever will not receive and accept and welcome you nor listen to your message, as you leave that house or town, shake the dust from your feet.

Dacă cineva nu vă va primi, nici nu va asculta cuvintele voastre, scuturaţi-vă praful de pe picioare când ieşiţi din casa sau din cetatea aceea!

15 T ruly I tell you, it shall be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.

Adevărat vă spun că, în Ziua Judecăţii, va fi mai uşor pentru ţinutul Sodomei şi al Gomorei decât pentru cetatea aceea! Ucenicii vor fi persecutaţi

16 B ehold, I am sending you out like sheep in the midst of wolves; be wary and wise as serpents, and be innocent (harmless, guileless, and without falsity) as doves.

Iată, Eu vă trimit ca pe nişte oi în mijlocul lupilor! Fiţi deci înţelepţi ca şerpii şi fără pată ca porumbeii.

17 B e on guard against men '> way or nature is to act in opposition to God]; for they will deliver you up to councils and flog you in their synagogues,

Păziţi-vă de oameni, pentru că vă vor da pe mâna sinedriilor şi vă vor biciui în sinagogile lor.

18 A nd you will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a witness to bear testimony before them and to the Gentiles (the nations).

Din pricina Mea veţi fi duşi înaintea guvernatorilor şi înaintea regilor, ca să slujiţi drept mărturie pentru ei şi pentru neamuri.

19 B ut when they deliver you up, do not be anxious about how or what you are to speak; for what you are to say will be given you in that very hour and moment,

Dar când vă vor da pe mâna lor, să nu vă îngrijoraţi cu privire la cum sau ce veţi spune, pentru că ce va trebui să spuneţi vă va fi dat chiar în ceasul acela!

20 F or it is not you who are speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

Căci nu voi sunteţi cei care veţi vorbi, ci Duhul Tatălui vostru este Cel Care va vorbi prin voi.

21 B rother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child; and children will take a stand against their parents and will have them put to death.

Fratele îl va trăda şi-l va da la moarte pe fratele său, iar tatăl, pe copilul său; copiii se vor ridica împotriva părinţilor şi-i vor da la moarte.

22 A nd you will be hated by all for My name’s sake, but he who perseveres and endures to the end will be saved '> from spiritual disease and death in the world to come].

Veţi fi urâţi de toţi din pricina Numelui Meu, dar cel ce va răbda până la sfârşit va fi mântuit.

23 W hen they persecute you in one town, flee to another town; for truly I tell you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

Când vă vor persecuta într-o cetate, să fugiţi în alta! Adevărat vă spun că nu veţi termina de străbătut cetăţile lui Israel înainte să vină Fiul Omului!

24 A disciple is not above his teacher, nor is a servant or slave above his master.

Un ucenic nu este mai presus de învăţătorul său şi un sclav nu este mai presus de stăpânul său.

25 I t is sufficient for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant or slave like his master. If they have called the Master of the house Beelzebub '> master of the dwelling], how much more will they speak evil of those of His household.

Îi este de ajuns ucenicului să fie ca învăţătorul său şi sclavului – ca stăpânul său. Dacă pe stăpânul casei l-au numit « Beelzebul », cu cât mai mult îi vor numi aşa pe cei din casa Lui! Teamă de Dumnezeu, nu de oameni

26 S o have no fear of them; for nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, or kept secret that will not become known.

Aşadar, să nu vă temeţi de ei! Căci nu este nimic acoperit, care nu va fi descoperit, şi nimic ascuns, care nu va fi făcut cunoscut!

27 W hat I say to you in the dark, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim upon the housetops.

Ceea ce vă spun Eu la întuneric voi să spuneţi la lumină şi ceea ce auziţi şoptindu -se la urechile voastre să vestiţi de pe acoperişurile caselor!

28 A nd do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell (Gehenna).

Nu vă temeţi de cei ce omoară trupul, dar care nu pot omorî sufletul! Ci temeţi-vă mai degrabă de Cel Ce poate să distrugă şi sufletul, şi trupul, în Gheenă.

29 A re not two little sparrows sold for a penny? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father’s leave (consent) and notice.

Nu se vând oare două vrăbii pe un assarion ? Şi totuşi, nici măcar una dintre ele nu cade la pământ fără voia Tatălui vostru!

30 B ut even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Cât despre voi, chiar şi firele de păr din cap, toate vă sunt numărate!

31 F ear not, then; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Deci nu vă temeţi! Voi sunteţi mai valoroşi decât multe vrăbii!

32 T herefore, everyone who acknowledges Me before men and confesses Me '> out of a state of oneness with Me], I will also acknowledge him before My Father Who is in heaven and confess him.

Aşadar, pe oricine Mă va mărturisi în faţa oamenilor îl voi mărturisi şi Eu înaintea Tatălui Meu, Care este în ceruri.

33 B ut whoever denies and disowns Me before men, I also will deny and disown him before My Father Who is in heaven.

Însă de oricine se va lepăda de Mine în faţa oamenilor mă voi lepăda şi Eu înaintea Tatălui Meu, Care este în ceruri. Costul uceniciei

34 D o not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.

Să nu credeţi că am venit să aduc pacea pe pământ; n-am venit să aduc pacea, ci sabia.

35 F or I have come to part asunder a man from his father, and a daughter from her mother, and a newly married wife from her mother-in-law—

Căci am venit să-i întorc «pe fiu împotriva tatălui său, pe fiică împotriva mamei ei şi pe noră împotriva soacrei sale,

36 A nd a man’s foes will be they of his own household.

aşa încât duşmanii unui om vor fi chiar cei din familia lui».

37 H e who loves '> takes more pleasure in] father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me;

Cel ce iubeşte pe tată sau pe mamă mai mult decât pe Mine, nu este vrednic de Mine, şi cel ce iubeşte pe fiu sau pe fiică mai mult decât pe Mine, nu este vrednic de Mine.

38 A nd he who does not take up his cross and follow Me '> cleave steadfastly to Me, conforming wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also] is not worthy of Me.

Oricine nu-şi ia crucea şi nu Mă urmează, nu este vrednic de Mine.

39 W hoever finds his '> lower] life will lose it, and whoever loses his life on My account will find it.

Cel ce-şi va găsi viaţa, o va pierde, dar cel ce-şi va pierde viaţa de dragul Meu, o va găsi. Răsplătiri

40 H e who receives and welcomes and accepts you receives and welcomes and accepts Me, and he who receives and welcomes and accepts Me receives and welcomes and accepts Him Who sent Me.

Cel ce vă primeşte pe voi Mă primeşte pe Mine, iar cel ce Mă primeşte pe Mine Îl primeşte, de fapt, pe Cel Ce M-a trimis pe Mine.

41 H e who receives and welcomes and accepts a prophet because he is a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward, and he who receives and welcomes and accepts a righteous man because he is a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.

Cel ce primeşte un profet, în numele unui profet, va primi răsplata unui profet, iar cel ce primeşte un om drept, în numele unui om drept, va primi răsplata unui om drept.

42 A nd whoever gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is My disciple, surely I declare to you, he shall not lose his reward.

Şi oricine-i va da chiar şi un pahar cu apă rece unuia dintre aceşti micuţi, în numele unui ucenic, adevărat vă spun că nu-şi va pierde răsplata.“
