1 M oreover David and the captains of the army separated for the service some of the sons of Asaph, of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, stringed instruments, and cymbals. And the number of the skilled men performing their service was:

Asimismo David y los príncipes del ejército apartaron para el ministerio a los hijos de Asaf, de Hemán, y de Jedutún, los cuales profetizaran con arpas, salterios, y címbalos; y el número de ellos fue, de los varones idóneos para la obra de su ministerio respectivo:

2 O f the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah; the sons of Asaph were under the direction of Asaph, who prophesied according to the order of the king.

De los hijos de Asaf: Zacur, José, Netanías, y Asarela, hijos de Asaf, bajo la dirección de Asaf, el cual profetizaba a la mano del rey.

3 O f Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp to give thanks and to praise the Lord.

De Jedutún, los hijos de Jedutún: Gedalías, Zeri, Jesaías, Hasabías, y Matatías: seis, bajo la mano de su padre Jedutún, el cual profetizaba con arpa, para confesar y alabar al SEÑOR.

4 O f Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.

De Hemán: los hijos de Hemán; Buquías, Matanías, Uziel, Sebuel, Jeremot, Hananías, Hanani, Eliata, Gidalti, Romanti-ezer, Josbecasa, Maloti, Hotir, y Mahaziot.

5 A ll these were the sons of Heman the king’s seer in the words of God, to exalt his horn. For God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

Todos éstos fueron hijos de Hemán, vidente del rey en palabras de Dios, para ensalzar cuerno; y Dios dio a Hemán catorce hijos y tres hijas.

6 A ll these were under the direction of their father for the music in the house of the Lord, with cymbals, stringed instruments, and harps, for the service of the house of God. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the authority of the king.

Y todos éstos estaban bajo la dirección de su padre en la música, en la Casa del SEÑOR, con címbalos, salterios y arpas, para el ministerio de la Casa de Dios, bajo la mano del rey, de Asaf, de Jedutún, y de Hemán.

7 S o the number of them, with their brethren who were instructed in the songs of the Lord, all who were skillful, was two hundred and eighty-eight.

Y el número de ellos con sus hermanos instruidos en la música del SEÑOR, todos los entendidos, fue doscientos ochenta y ocho.

8 A nd they cast lots for their duty, the small as well as the great, the teacher with the student.

Asimismo echaron suertes guarda contra guarda, el chico con el grande, el sabio con el discípulo.

9 N ow the first lot for Asaph came out for Joseph; the second for Gedaliah, him with his brethren and sons, twelve;

Y la primera suerte salió a Asaf, por José; la segunda por Gedalías, quien con sus hermanos e hijos fueron doce;

10 t he third for Zaccur, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

la tercera por Zacur, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

11 t he fourth for Jizri, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

la cuarta por Izri, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

12 t he fifth for Nethaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

la quinta por Netanías, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

13 t he sixth for Bukkiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;
