1 T hen the Pharisees and some of the scribes came together to Him, having come from Jerusalem.

¶ Y se juntaron a él fariseos, y algunos de los escribas, que habían venido de Jerusalén;

2 N ow when they saw some of His disciples eat bread with defiled, that is, with unwashed hands, they found fault.

los cuales, viendo a algunos de sus discípulos comer pan con manos comunes, es a decir, no lavadas, los condenaban.

3 F or the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands in a special way, holding the tradition of the elders.

(Porque los fariseos y todos los judíos, teniendo la tradición de los ancianos, si muchas veces no se lavan las manos, no comen.

4 W hen they come from the marketplace, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other things which they have received and hold, like the washing of cups, pitchers, copper vessels, and couches.

Y volviendo de la plaza, si no se lavaren, no comen. Y muchas otras cosas hay, que tomaron para guardar, como las lavaduras de los vasos de beber, y de los jarros, y de los vasos de metal, y de los lechos.)

5 T hen the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, “Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?”

Y le preguntaron los fariseos y los escribas: ¿Por qué tus discípulos no andan conforme a la tradición de los ancianos, sino que comen pan con manos sin lavar?

6 H e answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.

Y respondiendo él, les dijo: Hipócritas, bien profetizó de vosotros Isaías, como está escrito: Este pueblo con los labios me honra, mas su corazón lejos está de mí.

7 A nd in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’

Y en vano me honran, enseñando como doctrinas, mandamientos de hombres.

8 F or laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men —the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do.”

Porque dejando el mandamiento de Dios, tenéis la tradición de los hombres: las lavaduras de los jarros y de los vasos de beber; y hacéis muchas cosas semejantes a éstas.

9 H e said to them, “ All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.

Les decía también: Bien; invalidáis el mandamiento de Dios para guardar vuestra tradición.

10 F or Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’

Porque Moisés dijo: Honra a tu padre y a tu madre, y: El que maldijera al padre o a la madre, morirá irremisiblemente.

11 B ut you say, ‘If a man says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban”—’ (that is, a gift to God ),

Y vosotros decís: Basta si dijere un hombre al padre o a la madre: Todo Corbán (quiere decir, don mío a Dios) todo aquello con que pudiera valerte;

12 t hen you no longer let him do anything for his father or his mother,

y no le dejáis hacer más por su padre o por su madre,

13 m aking the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do.”

invalidando la palabra de Dios con vuestra tradición que disteis; y muchas cosas hacéis semejantes a éstas.

14 W hen He had called all the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “Hear Me, everyone, and understand:

Y llamando a toda la multitud, les dijo: Oídme todos, y entended.

15 T here is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man.

Nada hay fuera del hombre que entre en él, que le pueda contaminar; mas lo que sale de él, aquello es lo que contamina al hombre.

16 I f anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”

Si alguno tiene oídos para oír, oiga.

17 W hen He had entered a house away from the crowd, His disciples asked Him concerning the parable.

Y dejando la multitud y entrándose en casa, le preguntaron sus discípulos sobre la parábola.

18 S o He said to them, “Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him,

Y les dijo: ¿También vosotros estáis así sin entendimiento? ¿No entendéis que todo lo de fuera que entra en el hombre, no le puede contaminar?

19 b ecause it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?”

Porque no entra en su corazón, sino en el vientre, y sale el hombre a la letrina, y purga todas las viandas.

20 A nd He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man.

Pero decía, que lo que del hombre sale, aquello contamina al hombre.

21 F or from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

Porque de dentro, del corazón de los hombres, salen los malos pensamientos, los adulterios, las fornicaciones, los homicidios,

22 t hefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.

los hurtos, las avaricias, las maldades, el engaño, las desvergüenzas, el ojo maligno, las injurias, la soberbia, la insensatez.

23 A ll these evil things come from within and defile a man.” A Gentile Shows Her Faith

Todas estas maldades de dentro salen, y contaminan al hombre.

24 F rom there He arose and went to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And He entered a house and wanted no one to know it, but He could not be hidden.

¶ Y levantándose de allí, se fue a los términos de Tiro y de Sidón; y entrando en casa, quiso que nadie lo supiera; mas no pudo ser escondido.

25 F or a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him, and she came and fell at His feet.

Porque una mujer, cuya hija tenía un espíritu inmundo, luego que oyó de él, vino y se echó a sus pies.

26 T he woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by birth, and she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter.

Y la mujer era griega, sirofenicia de nación; y le rogaba que echara fuera de su hija al demonio.

27 B ut Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”

Más Jesús le dijo: Deja primero saciarse los hijos, porque no es bien tomar el pan de los hijos y echarlo a los perrillos.

28 A nd she answered and said to Him, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children’s crumbs.”

Y respondió ella, y le dijo: Sí, Señor; pero aun los perrillos debajo de la mesa, comen de las migajas de los hijos.

29 T hen He said to her, “For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter.”

Entonces le dice: Por esta palabra, ve; el demonio ha salido de tu hija.

30 A nd when she had come to her house, she found the demon gone out, and her daughter lying on the bed. Jesus Heals a Deaf-Mute

Cuando fue a su casa, halló que el demonio había salido, y a la hija echada sobre la cama.

31 A gain, departing from the region of Tyre and Sidon, He came through the midst of the region of Decapolis to the Sea of Galilee.

¶ Volviendo a salir de los términos de Tiro, vino por Sidón al mar de Galilea, por mitad de los términos de Decápolis.

32 T hen they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him.

Y le traen un sordo y tartamudo, y le ruegan que le ponga la mano encima.

33 A nd He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue.

Tomándole aparte de la multitud, metió sus dedos en las orejas de él, y escupiendo, tocó su lengua (con la saliva);

34 T hen, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.”

y mirando al cielo, gimió, y dijo: Efata: que es decir: Sé abierto.

35 I mmediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly.

Luego fueron abiertos sus oídos, y fue desatada la ligadura de su lengua, y hablaba bien.

36 T hen He commanded them that they should tell no one; but the more He commanded them, the more widely they proclaimed it.

Y les mandó que no lo dijeran a nadie; pero cuanto más les mandaba, tanto más y más lo divulgaban.

37 A nd they were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.”

Y en gran manera se maravillaban, diciendo: Bien lo ha hecho todo; hace a los sordos oír, y a los mudos hablar.
