1 T hen David said, “This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”

Y dijo David: Esta será la Casa del SEÑOR Dios, y éste será el altar del holocausto para Israel.

2 S o David commanded to gather the aliens who were in the land of Israel; and he appointed masons to cut hewn stones to build the house of God.

Después mandó David que se juntaran los extranjeros que estaban en la tierra de Israel, e hizo de ellos canteros, que labraran piedras para edificar la Casa de Dios.

3 A nd David prepared iron in abundance for the nails of the doors of the gates and for the joints, and bronze in abundance beyond measure,

Asimismo aparejó David mucho hierro para la clavazón de las puertas, y para las junturas; y mucho bronce sin peso, y madera de cedro sin cuenta.

4 a nd cedar trees in abundance; for the Sidonians and those from Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.

Porque los sidonios y tirios habían traído a David madera de cedro innumerable.

5 N ow David said, “Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all countries. I will now make preparation for it.” So David made abundant preparations before his death.

Y dijo David: Salomón mi hijo es aún muchacho y tierno, y la Casa que se ha de edificar al SEÑOR ha de ser magnífica por excelencia, para nombre y honra en todas las tierras; ahora pues yo le aparejaré lo necesario. Y preparó David antes de su muerte en gran abundancia.

6 T hen he called for his son Solomon, and charged him to build a house for the Lord God of Israel.

Llamó entonces David a Salomón su hijo, y le mandó que edificara Casa al SEÑOR Dios de Israel.

7 A nd David said to Solomon: “My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house to the name of the Lord my God;

Y dijo David a Salomón: Hijo mío, en mi corazón tuve el edificar templo al nombre del SEÑOR mi Dios.

8 b ut the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘You have shed much blood and have made great wars; you shall not build a house for My name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in My sight.

Mas vino a mí palabra del SEÑOR, diciendo: Tú has derramado mucha sangre, y has traído grandes guerras; no edificarás casa a mi nombre, porque has derramado mucha sangre en la tierra delante de mí.

9 B ehold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies all around. His name shall be Solomon, for I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.

He aquí, un hijo te nacerá, el cual será varón de reposo, porque yo le daré quietud de todos sus enemigos en derredor; por tanto su nombre será Salomón; y yo daré paz y reposo sobre Israel en sus días.

10 H e shall build a house for My name, and he shall be My son, and I will be his Father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’

El edificará Casa a mi nombre, y él me será a mí por hijo, y yo le seré por padre; y afirmaré el trono de su reino sobre Israel para siempre.

11 N ow, my son, may the Lord be with you; and may you prosper, and build the house of the Lord your God, as He has said to you.

Ahora pues, hijo mío, sea contigo el SEÑOR, y seas prosperado, y edifiques Casa al SEÑOR tu Dios, como él ha dicho de ti.

12 O nly may the Lord give you wisdom and understanding, and give you charge concerning Israel, that you may keep the law of the Lord your God.

Y el SEÑOR te dé entendimiento y prudencia, y él te dé mandamientos para Israel; y que tú guardes la ley del SEÑOR tu Dios.

13 T hen you will prosper, if you take care to fulfill the statutes and judgments with which the Lord charged Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and of good courage; do not fear nor be dismayed.

Entonces serás prosperado, si guardares para hacer los estatutos y derechos que el SEÑOR mandó a Moisés sobre Israel. Esfuérzate pues, y cobra ánimo; no temas, ni desmayes.

14 I ndeed I have taken much trouble to prepare for the house of the Lord one hundred thousand talents of gold and one million talents of silver, and bronze and iron beyond measure, for it is so abundant. I have prepared timber and stone also, and you may add to them.

He aquí, yo en mi estrechez he preparado para la Casa del SEÑOR cien mil talentos de oro, y un millar de millares de talentos de plata; no tiene peso el bronce ni el hierro, porque es mucho. Asimismo he preparado madera y piedra, a lo cual tú añadirás.

15 M oreover there are workmen with you in abundance: woodsmen and stonecutters, and all types of skillful men for every kind of work.

Tú tienes contigo muchos oficiales, canteros, albañiles, y carpinteros, y todo hombre experto en toda obra.

16 O f gold and silver and bronze and iron there is no limit. Arise and begin working, and the Lord be with you.”

Del oro, de la plata, del bronce, y del hierro, no hay número. Levántate pues, y a la obra; que el SEÑOR será contigo.

17 D avid also commanded all the leaders of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,

Asimismo mandó David a todos los príncipes de Israel que dieran ayuda a Salomón su hijo, diciendo:

18 “ Is not the Lord your God with you? And has He not given you rest on every side? For He has given the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land is subdued before the Lord and before His people.

¿No es con vosotros el SEÑOR vuestro Dios, el cual os ha dado quietud de todas partes? Porque él ha entregado en mi mano los moradores de la tierra, y la tierra ha sido sujetada delante del SEÑOR, y delante de su pueblo.

19 N ow set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God. Therefore arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy articles of God into the house that is to be built for the name of the Lord.”

Poned, pues, ahora vuestros corazones y vuestras almas en buscar al SEÑOR vuestro Dios; y levantaos, y edificad el santuario del SEÑOR Dios, para traer el arca del pacto del SEÑOR, y los santos vasos de Dios, a la Casa edificada al nombre del SEÑOR.
