1 M anasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hephzibah.

De doce años era Manasés cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó en Jerusalén cincuenta y cinco años; el nombre de su madre fue Hepsiba.

2 A nd he did evil in the sight of the Lord, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.

E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR, según las abominaciones de los gentiles que el SEÑOR había echado delante de los hijos de Israel.

3 F or he rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; he raised up altars for Baal, and made a wooden image, as Ahab king of Israel had done; and he worshiped all the host of heaven and served them.

Porque él volvió a edificar los lugares altos que Ezequías su padre había derribado, y levantó altares a Baal, e hizo bosque, como había hecho Acab rey de Israel; y adoró a todo el ejército del cielo, y sirvió a aquellas cosas.

4 H e also built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, “In Jerusalem I will put My name.”

Asimismo edificó altares en la Casa del SEÑOR, de la cual el SEÑOR había dicho: Yo pondré mi nombre en Jerusalén.

5 A nd he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord.

Y edificó altares para todo el ejército del cielo en los dos atrios de la casa del SEÑOR.

6 A lso he made his son pass through the fire, practiced soothsaying, used witchcraft, and consulted spiritists and mediums. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger.

Y pasó a su hijo por fuego, y miró en tiempos, y fue agorero, e instituyó espiritistas y adivinos, y multiplicó a hacer lo malo en ojos del SEÑOR, para provocarlo a ira.

7 H e even set a carved image of Asherah that he had made, in the house of which the Lord had said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever;

Y puso una entalladura del bosque que él había hecho, en la Casa de la cual había el SEÑOR dicho a David y a Salomón su hijo: Yo pondré mi nombre perpetuamente en esta Casa, y en Jerusalén, a la cual escogí de todas las tribus de Israel;

8 a nd I will not make the feet of Israel wander anymore from the land which I gave their fathers—only if they are careful to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that My servant Moses commanded them.”

y no volveré a hacer que el pie de Israel sea movido de la tierra que di a sus padres, con tal que guarden y hagan conforme a todas las cosas que yo les he mandado, y conforme a toda la ley que mi siervo Moisés les mandó.

9 B ut they paid no attention, and Manasseh seduced them to do more evil than the nations whom the Lord had destroyed before the children of Israel.

Mas ellos no escucharon; y Manasés los hizo errar a que hicieran más mal que los gentiles que el SEÑOR rayó de delante de los hijos de Israel.

10 A nd the Lord spoke by His servants the prophets, saying,

¶ Y habló el SEÑOR por mano de sus siervos los profetas, diciendo:

11 “ Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations (he has acted more wickedly than all the Amorites who were before him, and has also made Judah sin with his idols),

Por cuanto Manasés rey de Judá ha hecho estas abominaciones, y ha hecho más mal que todo lo que hicieron los amorreos que fueron antes de él, y también ha hecho pecar a Judá con sus ídolos;

12 t herefore thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘Behold, I am bringing such calamity upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever hears of it, both his ears will tingle.

por tanto, así dice el SEÑOR Dios de Israel: He aquí yo traigo tal mal sobre Jerusalén y sobre Judá, que el que lo oyere, le retiñirán ambos oídos.

13 A nd I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab; I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

Y extenderé sobre Jerusalén el cordel de Samaria, y el plomo de la casa de Acab; y yo limpiaré a Jerusalén como se limpia un vaso, que después que lo han limpiado, lo vuelven sobre su faz.

14 S o I will forsake the remnant of My inheritance and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become victims of plunder to all their enemies,

Y desampararé el remanente de mi heredad, y las entregaré en manos de sus enemigos; y serán para presa y para despojo a todos sus adversarios;

15 b ecause they have done evil in My sight, and have provoked Me to anger since the day their fathers came out of Egypt, even to this day.’”

por cuanto han hecho lo malo ante mis ojos, y me han provocado a ira, desde el día que sus padres salieron de Egipto hasta hoy.

16 M oreover Manasseh shed very much innocent blood, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another, besides his sin by which he made Judah sin, in doing evil in the sight of the Lord.

Fuera de esto, derramó Manasés mucha sangre inocente en gran manera, hasta llenar a Jerusalén de extremo a extremo, además de su pecado con que hizo pecar a Judá, para que hiciera lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR.

17 N ow the rest of the acts of Manasseh—all that he did, and the sin that he committed— are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

Los demás hechos de Manasés, y todas las cosas que hizo, y su pecado que cometió, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

18 S o Manasseh rested with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza. Then his son Amon reigned in his place. Amon’s Reign and Death

¶ Y durmió Manasés con sus padres, y fue sepultado en el huerto de su casa, en el huerto de Uza; y reinó en su lugar Amón su hijo.

19 A mon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.

De veintidós años era Amón cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó dos años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Mesulemet hija de Haruz de Jotba.

20 A nd he did evil in the sight of the Lord, as his father Manasseh had done.

E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR, como había hecho Manasés su padre.

21 S o he walked in all the ways that his father had walked; and he served the idols that his father had served, and worshiped them.

Y anduvo en todos los caminos en que su padre anduvo, y sirvió a los ídolos a los cuales había servido su padre, y a ellos adoró;

22 H e forsook the Lord God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the Lord.

y dejó al SEÑOR Dios de sus padres, y no anduvo en el camino del SEÑOR.

23 T hen the servants of Amon conspired against him, and killed the king in his own house.

Y los siervos de Amón conspiraron contra él, y mataron al rey en su casa.

24 B ut the people of the land executed all those who had conspired against King Amon. Then the people of the land made his son Josiah king in his place.

Entonces el pueblo de la tierra hirió a todos los que habían conspirado contra el rey Amón; y puso el pueblo de la tierra por rey en su lugar a Josías su hijo.

25 N ow the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

Los demás hechos de Amón, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

26 A nd he was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza. Then Josiah his son reigned in his place.

Y fue sepultado en su sepulcro en el huerto de Uza, y reinó en su lugar Josías su hijo.
