1 A nd you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,

¶ Y él os hizo vivir a vosotros, estando muertos en vuestros delitos y pecados,

2 i n which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,

en que en otro tiempo anduvisteis conforme a la condición de este mundo, conforme a la voluntad del príncipe de la potestad de este aire, el espíritu que ahora obra en los hijos de desobediencia,

3 a mong whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

entre los cuales todos nosotros también vivimos en otro tiempo en los deseos de nuestra carne, haciendo la voluntad de la carne y de la mente; y éramos por naturaleza hijos de ira, también como los demás.

4 B ut God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

¶ Pero Dios, que es rico en misericordia, por su mucha caridad con que nos amó,

5 e ven when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

aun estando nosotros muertos en pecados, nos dio vida juntamente con el Cristo; por cuya gracia sois salvos;

6 a nd raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

y juntamente nos resucitó, y asimismo nos hizo sentar en lugares celestiales en Cristo Jesús,

7 t hat in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

para mostrar en los siglos venideros las abundantes riquezas de su gracia en su bondad para con nosotros en Cristo Jesús.

8 F or by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

Porque por gracia sois salvos por la fe; y esto no de vosotros, pues es don de Dios;

9 n ot of works, lest anyone should boast.

no por obras, para que nadie se gloríe.

10 F or we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Brought Near by His Blood

Porque somos hechura suya, creados en Cristo Jesús para buenas obras, las cuales Dios preparó para que andemos en ellas.

11 T herefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands—

¶ Por tanto, acordaos que en otro tiempo vosotros erais gentiles en carne, que erais llamados incircuncisión de la que se llama circuncisión en carne, la cual se hace con mano;

12 t hat at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

que en aquel tiempo estabais sin Cristo, alejados de la república de Israel, y extranjeros a los Pactos de la promesa, sin esperanza y sin Dios en el mundo.

13 B ut now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Christ Our Peace

Pero ahora en Cristo Jesús, vosotros que en otro tiempo estabais lejos, habéis sido hechos cercanos por la sangre del Cristo.

14 F or He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,

¶ Porque él es nuestra paz, que de ambos hizo uno, deshaciendo la pared intermedia de separación;

15 h aving abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,

deshaciendo en su carne las enemistades, que eran la ley de los mandamientos en orden a ritos, para edificar en sí mismo los dos en un nuevo hombre, haciendo la paz,

16 a nd that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.

y reconciliando a ambos con Dios por el madero en un mismo cuerpo, matando en ella las enemistades.

17 A nd He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near.

Y vino, y anunció la paz a vosotros que estabais lejos, y a los que estaban cerca;

18 F or through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Christ Our Cornerstone

que por él los unos y los otros tenemos entrada por un mismo Espíritu al Padre.

19 N ow, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,

Así que ya no sois extranjeros y advenedizos, sino juntamente ciudadanos con los santos, y domésticos de Dios;

20 h aving been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone,

sobreedificados sobre el fundamento de los apóstoles y de los profetas, siendo la principal piedra del ángulo, Jesús, el Cristo;

21 i n whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,

en el cual, compaginado todo el edificio, va creciendo para ser un Templo Santo en el Señor;

22 i n whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

en el cual vosotros también sois juntamente edificados, por morada de Dios en el Espíritu.
