1 A gain the word of the Lord of hosts came, saying,

Y vino palabra del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, diciendo:

2 “ Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘I am zealous for Zion with great zeal; With great fervor I am zealous for her.’

Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Yo celé a Sion con gran celo, y con gran ira la celé.

3 “ Thus says the Lord: ‘I will return to Zion, And dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, The Mountain of the Lord of hosts, The Holy Mountain.’

Así dijo el SEÑOR: Yo restituiré a Sion, y moraré en medio de Jerusalén; y Jerusalén se llamará Ciudad de Verdad, y el monte del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, monte de Santidad.

4 “ Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Old men and old women shall again sit In the streets of Jerusalem, Each one with his staff in his hand Because of great age.

Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Aún han de morar ancianos y ancianas en las plazas de Jerusalén, y cada cual con bordón en su mano por la multitud de los días.

5 T he streets of the city Shall be full of boys and girls Playing in its streets.’

Y las calles de la ciudad serán llenas de muchachos y muchachas, que jugarán en ellas.

6 “ Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘If it is marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, Will it also be marvelous in My eyes?’ Says the Lord of hosts.

Así dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Si esto parecerá dificultoso a los ojos del remanente de este pueblo en estos días, ¿también será dificultoso delante de mis ojos? Dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos.

7 “ Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Behold, I will save My people from the land of the east And from the land of the west;

Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: He aquí, yo salvo mi pueblo de la tierra del oriente, y de la tierra donde se pone el sol;

8 I will bring them back, And they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. They shall be My people And I will be their God, In truth and righteousness.’

y los traeré, y habitarán en medio de Jerusalén; y me serán por pueblo, y yo seré a ellos por Dios con verdad y con justicia.

9 “ Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Let your hands be strong, You who have been hearing in these days These words by the mouth of the prophets, Who spoke in the day the foundation was laid For the house of the Lord of hosts, That the temple might be built.

Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Esfuércense vuestras manos, de vosotros los que oís en estos días estas palabras de la boca de los profetas, desde el día que se echó el cimiento a la Casa del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, para edificar el Templo.

10 F or before these days There were no wages for man nor any hire for beast; There was no peace from the enemy for whoever went out or came in; For I set all men, everyone, against his neighbor.

Porque antes de estos días no ha habido paga de hombre, ni paga de bestia, ni hubo paz alguna para entrante ni para saliente, a causa de la angustia; porque yo incité a todos los hombres, cada cual contra su compañero.

11 B ut now I will not treat the remnant of this people as in the former days,’ says the Lord of hosts.

Mas ahora no lo haré con el remanente de este pueblo como en aquellos días pasados, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos.

12 ‘ For the seed shall be prosperous, The vine shall give its fruit, The ground shall give her increase, And the heavens shall give their dew— I will cause the remnant of this people To possess all these.

Porque la simiente de la paz quedará; la vid dará su fruto, y la tierra dará su fruto, y los cielos darán su rocío; y haré que el remanente de este pueblo posea todo esto.

13 A nd it shall come to pass That just as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, So I will save you, and you shall be a blessing. Do not fear, Let your hands be strong.’

Y será que como fuisteis maldición entre los gentiles, oh Casa de Judá y Casa de Israel, así os salvaré, para que seáis bendición. No temáis, mas esfuércense vuestras manos.

14 “ For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Just as I determined to punish you When your fathers provoked Me to wrath,’ Says the Lord of hosts, ‘And I would not relent,

Porque así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Como pensé haceros mal cuando vuestros padres me provocaron a ira, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, y no me arrepentí;

15 S o again in these days I am determined to do good To Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Do not fear.

así tornando he pensado hacer bien a Jerusalén y a la Casa de Judá en estos días; no temáis.

16 T hese are the things you shall do: Speak each man the truth to his neighbor; Give judgment in your gates for truth, justice, and peace;

Estas son las cosas que haréis: Hablad verdad cada cual con su prójimo; juzgad en vuestras puertas verdad y juicio de paz;

17 L et none of you think evil in your heart against your neighbor; And do not love a false oath. For all these are things that I hate,’ Says the Lord.”

y ninguno de vosotros piense mal en su corazón contra su prójimo, ni améis juramento falso; porque todas estas cosas son las que yo aborrezco, dijo el SEÑOR.

18 T hen the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying,

Y vino palabra del SEÑOR de los ejércitos a mí, diciendo:

19 “ Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘The fast of the fourth month, The fast of the fifth, The fast of the seventh, And the fast of the tenth, Shall be joy and gladness and cheerful feasts For the house of Judah. Therefore love truth and peace.’

Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: El ayuno del cuarto mes, y el ayuno del quinto, y el ayuno del séptimo, y el ayuno del décimo, se tornarán a la Casa de Judá en gozo y alegría, y en festivas solemnidades. Amad, pues, la Verdad y la Paz.

20 “ Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Peoples shall yet come, Inhabitants of many cities;

Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Aún vendrán pueblos, y moradores de muchas ciudades;

21 T he inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, “Let us continue to go and pray before the Lord, And seek the Lord of hosts. I myself will go also.”

y vendrán los moradores de una ciudad a la otra, y dirán: Vamos a orar a la faz del SEÑOR, y busquemos al SEÑOR de los ejércitos. (Y el otro responderá:) Yo también iré.

22 Y es, many peoples and strong nations Shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, And to pray before the Lord.’

Y vendrán muchos pueblos y fuertes naciones a buscar al SEÑOR de los ejércitos en Jerusalén, y a orar a la faz del SEÑOR.

23 “ Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”’”

Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: En aquellos días acontecerá que diez varones de todas las lenguas de los gentiles, tomarán del manto del varón judío, diciendo: Iremos con vosotros, porque hemos oído que Dios está con vosotros.
