1 T hen Job answered the Lord and said:

Y respondió Job al SEÑOR, y dijo:

2 “ I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.

Yo sé que todo lo puedes, y que no hay pensamiento que se esconda de ti.

3 Y ou asked, ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’ Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.

¿Quién es el que esconde el consejo sin conocimiento? Por tanto yo denunciaba lo que no entendía; cosas maravillosas, que no las sabía.

4 L isten, please, and let me speak; You said, ‘I will question you, and you shall answer Me.’

Oye ahora, y hablaré; te preguntaré, y tú me harás saber.

5 “ I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You.

De oídas te había oído; mas ahora mis ojos te ven.

6 T herefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes.”

Por tanto me aborrezco, y me arrepiento en el polvo y en la ceniza.

7 A nd so it was, after the Lord had spoken these words to Job, that the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is aroused against you and your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has.

¶ Y aconteció que después que habló el SEÑOR estas palabras a Job, el SEÑOR dijo a Elifaz temanita: Mi ira se encendió contra ti y tus dos compañeros, porque no habéis hablado por mí con rectitud, como mi siervo Job.

8 N ow therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, go to My servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and My servant Job shall pray for you. For I will accept him, lest I deal with you according to your folly; because you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has. ”

Ahora pues, tomaos siete becerros y siete carneros, y andad a mi siervo Job, y ofreced holocausto por vosotros, y mi siervo Job orará por vosotros; solamente porque recibiré a él no os trataré según su locura, por cuanto no habéis hablado por mí con rectitud, como mi siervo Job.

9 S o Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the Lord commanded them; for the Lord had accepted Job.

Fueron pues Elifaz temanita, y Bildad suhita, y Zofar naamatita, e hicieron como el SEÑOR les mandó; y el SEÑOR recibió a Job.

10 A nd the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

¶ Y tornó el SEÑOR la cautividad de Job, orando él por sus amigos; y aumentó al doble todas las cosas que habían sido de Job.

11 T hen all his brothers, all his sisters, and all those who had been his acquaintances before, came to him and ate food with him in his house; and they consoled him and comforted him for all the adversity that the Lord had brought upon him. Each one gave him a piece of silver and each a ring of gold.

Y vinieron a él todos sus hermanos, y todas sus hermanas, y todos los que antes le habían conocido, y comieron con él pan en su casa, y se condolieron de él, y le consolaron de todo aquel mal que el SEÑOR había traído sobre él. Y cada uno de ellos le dio una cordera, y un zarcillo de oro.

12 N ow the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.

Y el SEÑOR bendijo a la postrimería de Job más que a su principio; porque tuvo catorce mil ovejas, y seis mil camellos, y mil yuntas de bueyes, y mil asnas.

13 H e also had seven sons and three daughters.

Y tuvo siete hijos y tres hijas.

14 A nd he called the name of the first Jemimah, the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-Happuch.

Y llamó el nombre de la una, Jemima, y el nombre de la segunda, Cesia, y el nombre de la tercera, Keren-hapuc.

15 I n all the land were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.

Y no se hallaron mujeres tan hermosas como las hijas de Job en toda la tierra; y les dio su padre herencia entre sus hermanos.

16 A fter this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations.

Y después de esto vivió Job ciento cuarenta años, y vio a sus hijos, y a los hijos de sus hijos, hasta la cuarta generación.

17 S o Job died, old and full of days.

Murió pues Job viejo, y lleno de días.
