1 A nd you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,

Y El os dio vida a vosotros, que estabais muertos en vuestros delitos y pecados,

2 i n which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,

en los cuales anduvisteis en otro tiempo según la corriente de este mundo, conforme al príncipe de la potestad del aire, el espíritu que ahora opera en los hijos de desobediencia,

3 a mong whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

entre los cuales también todos nosotros en otro tiempo vivíamos en las pasiones de nuestra carne, satisfaciendo los deseos de la carne y de la mente, y éramos por naturaleza hijos de ira, lo mismo que los demás.

4 B ut God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

Pero Dios, que es rico en misericordia, por causa del gran amor con que nos amó,

5 e ven when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

aun cuando estábamos muertos en nuestros delitos, nos dio vida juntamente con Cristo (por gracia habéis sido salvados ),

6 a nd raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

y con El nos resucitó, y con El nos sentó en los lugares celestiales en Cristo Jesús,

7 t hat in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

a fin de poder mostrar en los siglos venideros las sobreabundantes riquezas de su gracia por su bondad para con nosotros en Cristo Jesús.

8 F or by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

Porque por gracia habéis sido salvados por medio de la fe, y esto no de vosotros, sino que es don de Dios;

9 n ot of works, lest anyone should boast.

no por obras, para que nadie se gloríe.

10 F or we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Brought Near by His Blood

Porque somos hechura suya, creados en Cristo Jesús para hacer buenas obras, las cuales Dios preparó de antemano para que anduviéramos en ellas. En Cristo hay paz y unidad

11 T herefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands—

Recordad, pues, que en otro tiempo vosotros los gentiles en la carne, llamados incircuncisión por la tal llamada circuncisión, hecha por manos en la carne,

12 t hat at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

recordad que en ese tiempo estabais separados de Cristo, excluidos de la ciudadanía de Israel, extraños a los pactos de la promesa, sin tener esperanza, y sin Dios en el mundo.

13 B ut now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Christ Our Peace

Pero ahora en Cristo Jesús, vosotros, que en otro tiempo estabais lejos, habéis sido acercados por la sangre de Cristo.

14 F or He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,

Porque El mismo es nuestra paz, quien de ambos pueblos hizo uno, derribando la pared intermedia de separación,

15 h aving abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,

aboliendo en su carne la enemistad, la ley de los mandamientos expresados en ordenanzas, para crear en sí mismo de los dos un nuevo hombre, estableciendo así la paz,

16 a nd that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.

y para reconciliar con Dios a los dos en un cuerpo por medio de la cruz, habiendo dado muerte en ella a la enemistad.

17 A nd He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near.

Y vino y anuncio paz a vosotros que estabais lejos, y paz a los que estaban cerca;

18 F or through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Christ Our Cornerstone

porque por medio de El los unos y los otros tenemos nuestra entrada al Padre en un mismo Espíritu.

19 N ow, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,

Así pues, ya no sois extraños ni extranjeros, sino que sois conciudadanos de los santos y sois de la familia de Dios,

20 h aving been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone,

edificados sobre el fundamento de los apóstoles y profetas, siendo Cristo Jesús mismo la piedra angular,

21 i n whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,

en quien todo el edificio, bien ajustado, va creciendo para ser un templo santo en el Señor,

22 i n whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

en quien también vosotros sois juntamente edificados para morada de Dios en el Espíritu.
