1 T hen He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!

Y Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: Es inevitable que vengan tropiezos, pero ¡ay de aquel por quien vienen!

2 I t would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

Mejor le sería si se le colgara una piedra de molino al cuello y fuera arrojado al mar, que hacer tropezar a uno de estos pequeños.

3 T ake heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.

¡Tened cuidado! Si tu hermano peca, repréndelo; y si se arrepiente, perdónalo.

4 A nd if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.” Faith and Duty

5 A nd the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”

6 S o the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

Entonces el Señor dijo: Si tuvierais fe como un grano de mostaza, diríais a este sicómoro: “Desarráigate y plántate en el mar.” Y os obedecería.

7 A nd which of you, having a servant plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’?

¿Quién de vosotros tiene un siervo arando o pastoreando ovejas, y cuando regresa del campo, le dice: “Ven enseguida y siéntate a comer ”?

8 B ut will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare something for my supper, and gird yourself and serve me till I have eaten and drunk, and afterward you will eat and drink’?

¿No le dirá más bien: “Prepárame algo para cenar, y vístete adecuadamente, y sírveme hasta que haya comido y bebido; y después comerás y beberás tú”?

9 D oes he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I think not.

¿Acaso le da las gracias al siervo porque hizo lo que se le ordenó?

10 S o likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.’” Ten Lepers Cleansed

Así también vosotros, cuando hayáis hecho todo lo que se os ha ordenado, decid: “Siervos inútiles somos; hemos hecho sólo lo que debíamos haber hecho.” Los diez leprosos

11 N ow it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

Y aconteció que mientras iba camino a Jerusalén, pasaba entre Samaria y Galilea,

12 T hen as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off.

y al entrar en cierta aldea, le salieron al encuentro diez hombres leprosos, que se pararon a distancia,

13 A nd they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

y alzaron la voz, diciendo: ¡Jesús, Maestro! ¡Ten misericordia de nosotros!

14 S o when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.

Cuando El los vio, les dijo: Id y mostraos a los sacerdotes. Y sucedió que mientras iban, quedaron limpios.

15 A nd one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God,

Entonces uno de ellos, al ver que había sido sanado, se volvió glorificando a Dios en alta voz.

16 a nd fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.

Y cayó sobre su rostro a los pies de Jesús, dándole gracias; y éste era samaritano.

17 S o Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?

Respondiendo Jesús, dijo: ¿No fueron diez los que quedaron limpios? Y los otros nueve, ¿dónde están?

18 W ere there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”

¿No hubo ninguno que regresara a dar gloria a Dios, excepto este extranjero?

19 A nd He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.” The Coming of the Kingdom

Y le dijo: Levántate y vete; tu fe te ha sanado. Llegada del reino de Dios

20 N ow when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation;

Habiéndole preguntado los fariseos cuándo vendría el reino de Dios, Jesús les respondió, y dijo: El reino de Dios no viene con señales visibles,

21 n or will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

ni dirán: “¡Mirad, aquí está!” o: “¡Allí está!” Porque he aquí, el reino de Dios entre vosotros está.

22 T hen He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.

Y dijo a los discípulos: Vendrán días cuando ansiaréis ver uno de los días del Hijo del Hombre, y no lo veréis.

23 A nd they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them.

Y os dirán: “¡Mirad allí! ¡Mirad aquí!” No vayáis, ni corráis tras ellos.

24 F or as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day.

Porque como el relámpago al fulgurar resplandece desde un extremo del cielo hasta el otro extremo del cielo, así será el Hijo del Hombre en su día.

25 B ut first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

Pero primero es necesario que El padezca mucho y sea rechazado por esta generación.

26 A nd as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:

Tal como ocurrió en los días de Noé, así será también en los días del Hijo del Hombre.

27 T hey ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

Comían, bebían, se casaban y se daban en casamiento, hasta el día en que Noé entró en el arca, y vino el diluvio y los destruyó a todos.

28 L ikewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;

Fue lo mismo que ocurrió en los días de Lot: comían, bebían, compraban, vendían, plantaban, construían;

29 b ut on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.

pero el día en que Lot salió de Sodoma, llovió fuego y azufre del cielo y los destruyó a todos.

30 E ven so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

Lo mismo acontecerá el día en que el Hijo del Hombre sea revelado.

31 “ In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back.

En ese día, el que esté en la azotea y tenga sus bienes en casa, no descienda a llevárselos; y de igual modo, el que esté en el campo no vuelva atrás.

32 R emember Lot’s wife.

Acordaos de la mujer de Lot.

33 W hoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.

Todo el que procure preservar su vida, la perderá; y todo el que la pierda, la conservará.

34 I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left.

Os digo que en aquella noche estarán dos en una cama; uno será tomado y el otro será dejado.

35 T wo women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left.

Estarán dos mujeres moliendo en el mismo lugar; una será tomada y la otra será dejada.

36 T wo men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left.”

Dos estarán en el campo; uno será tomado y el otro será dejado.

37 A nd they answered and said to Him, “Where, Lord?” So He said to them, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”

Respondiendo ellos, le dijeron: ¿Dónde, Señor? Y El les dijo: Donde esté el cuerpo, allí también se juntarán los buitres.
