1 A nd the Lord spoke to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Let My people go, that they may serve Me.

Entonces el Señor dijo a Moisés: Ve a Faraón y dile: “Así dice el Señor: ‘Deja ir a mi pueblo para que me sirva.

2 B ut if you refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all your territory with frogs.

‘Pero si te niegas a dejar los ir, he aquí, heriré todo tu territorio con ranas.

3 S o the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into your house, into your bedroom, on your bed, into the houses of your servants, on your people, into your ovens, and into your kneading bowls.

‘Y el Nilo se llenará de ranas, que subirán y entrarán en tu casa, en tu alcoba y sobre tu cama, y en las casas de tus siervos y en tu pueblo, en tus hornos y en tus artesas.

4 A nd the frogs shall come up on you, on your people, and on all your servants.”’”

‘Y subirán las ranas sobre ti, sobre tu pueblo y sobre todos tus siervos.’”

5 T hen the Lord spoke to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt.’”

Dijo además el Señor a Moisés: Di a Aarón: “Extiende tu mano con tu vara sobre los ríos, sobre los arroyos y sobre los estanques, y haz que suban ranas sobre la tierra de Egipto.”

6 S o Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt.

Y extendió Aarón su mano sobre las aguas de Egipto, y las ranas subieron y cubrieron la tierra de Egipto.

7 A nd the magicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt.

Y los magos hicieron lo mismo con sus encantamientos, e hicieron subir ranas sobre la tierra de Egipto.

8 T hen Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, “Entreat the Lord that He may take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to the Lord.”

Entonces Faraón llamó a Moisés y a Aarón, y dijo: Rogad al Señor para que quite las ranas de mí y de mi pueblo, y yo dejaré ir al pueblo para que ofrezca sacrificios al Señor.

9 A nd Moses said to Pharaoh, “Accept the honor of saying when I shall intercede for you, for your servants, and for your people, to destroy the frogs from you and your houses, that they may remain in the river only.”

Y Moisés dijo a Faraón: Dígnate decirme cuándo he de rogar por ti, por tus siervos y por tu pueblo, para que las ranas sean quitadas de ti y de tus casas y queden solamente en el río.

10 S o he said, “Tomorrow.” And he said, “ Let it be according to your word, that you may know that there is no one like the Lord our God.

Y él respondió: Mañana. Entonces Moisés dijo: Sea conforme a tu palabra para que sepas que no hay nadie como el Señor nuestro Dios.

11 A nd the frogs shall depart from you, from your houses, from your servants, and from your people. They shall remain in the river only.”

Y las ranas se alejarán de ti, de tus casas, de tus siervos y de tu pueblo; sólo quedarán en el Nilo.

12 T hen Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh. And Moses cried out to the Lord concerning the frogs which He had brought against Pharaoh.

Entonces Moisés y Aarón salieron de la presencia de Faraón, y Moisés clamó al Señor acerca de las ranas que El había puesto sobre Faraón.

13 S o the Lord did according to the word of Moses. And the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courtyards, and out of the fields.

Y el Señor hizo conforme a la palabra de Moisés, y murieron las ranas de las casas, de los patios y de los campos.

14 T hey gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank.

Y las juntaron en montones, y la tierra se corrompió.

15 B ut when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart and did not heed them, as the Lord had said. The Third Plague: Lice

Pero al ver Faraón que había alivio, endureció su corazón y no los escuchó, tal como el Señor había dicho. Tercera plaga: los piojos

16 S o the Lord said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the land, so that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.’”

Entonces el Señor dijo a Moisés: Di a Aarón: “Extiende tu vara y golpea el polvo de la tierra para que se convierta en piojos por toda la tierra de Egipto.”

17 A nd they did so. For Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod and struck the dust of the earth, and it became lice on man and beast. All the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

Y así lo hicieron; y Aarón extendió su mano con su vara, y golpeó el polvo de la tierra, y hubo piojos en hombres y animales. Todo el polvo de la tierra se convirtió en piojos por todo el país de Egipto.

18 N ow the magicians so worked with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not. So there were lice on man and beast.

Y los magos trataron de producir piojos con sus encantamientos, pero no pudieron; hubo, pues, piojos en hombres y animales.

19 T hen the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s heart grew hard, and he did not heed them, just as the Lord had said. The Fourth Plague: Flies

Entonces los magos dijeron a Faraón: Este es el dedo de Dios. Pero el corazón de Faraón se endureció y no los escuchó, tal como el Señor había dicho. Cuarta plaga: los insectos

20 A nd the Lord said to Moses, “Rise early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh as he comes out to the water. Then say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Let My people go, that they may serve Me.

Y el Señor dijo a Moisés: Levántate muy de mañana y ponte delante de Faraón cuando vaya al agua, y dile: “Así dice el Señor: ‘Deja ir a mi pueblo para que me sirva.

21 O r else, if you will not let My people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you and your servants, on your people and into your houses. The houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground on which they stand.

‘Porque si no dejas ir a mi pueblo, he aquí, enviaré enjambres de insectos sobre ti, sobre tus siervos, sobre tu pueblo y dentro de tus casas; y las casas de los egipcios se llenarán de enjambres de insectos, y también el suelo sobre el cual están.

22 A nd in that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there, in order that you may know that I am the Lord in the midst of the land.

‘Mas en aquel día yo pondré aparte la tierra de Gosén en la que mora mi pueblo, para que no haya allí enjambres de insectos, a fin de que sepas que yo, el Señor, estoy en medio de la tierra;

23 I will make a difference between My people and your people. Tomorrow this sign shall be.”’”

y yo haré distinción entre mi pueblo y tu pueblo. Mañana tendrá lugar esta señal.’”

24 A nd the Lord did so. Thick swarms of flies came into the house of Pharaoh, into his servants’ houses, and into all the land of Egypt. The land was corrupted because of the swarms of flies.

Y así lo hizo el Señor. Y entraron grandes enjambres de insectos en la casa de Faraón y en las casas de sus siervos, y en todo el país de Egipto la tierra fue devastada a causa de los enjambres de insectos.

25 T hen Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God in the land.”

Entonces llamó Faraón a Moisés y a Aarón, y dijo: Id, ofreced sacrificio a vuestro Dios dentro del país.

26 A nd Moses said, “It is not right to do so, for we would be sacrificing the abomination of the Egyptians to the Lord our God. If we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, then will they not stone us?

Pero Moisés respondió: No conviene que lo hagamos así, porque es abominación para los egipcios lo que sacrificaremos al Señor nuestro Dios. Si sacrificamos lo que es abominación para los egipcios delante de sus ojos, ¿no nos apedrearán?

27 W e will go three days’ journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to the Lord our God as He will command us.”

Andaremos una distancia de tres días de camino en el desierto, y ofreceremos sacrificios al Señor nuestro Dios, tal como El nos manda.

28 S o Pharaoh said, “I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness; only you shall not go very far away. Intercede for me.”

Y Faraón dijo: Os dejaré ir para que ofrezcáis sacrificio al Señor vuestro Dios en el desierto, sólo que no vayáis muy lejos. Orad por mí.

29 T hen Moses said, “Indeed I am going out from you, and I will entreat the Lord, that the swarms of flies may depart tomorrow from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. But let Pharaoh not deal deceitfully anymore in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.”

Entonces dijo Moisés: He aquí, voy a salir de tu presencia y rogaré al Señor que los enjambres de insectos se alejen mañana de Faraón, de sus siervos y de su pueblo; pero que Faraón no vuelva a obrar con engaño, no dejando ir al pueblo a ofrecer sacrificios al Señor.

30 S o Moses went out from Pharaoh and entreated the Lord.

Y salió Moisés de la presencia de Faraón y oró al Señor.

31 A nd the Lord did according to the word of Moses; He removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. Not one remained.

Y el Señor hizo como Moisés le pidió, y quitó los enjambres de insectos de Faraón, de sus siervos y de su pueblo; no quedó ni uno solo.

32 B ut Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also; neither would he let the people go.

Pero Faraón endureció su corazón también esta vez y no dejó salir al pueblo.
