1 W hat advantage then hath the Jew? or what is the profit of circumcision?

¶ ¿Qué, pues, tiene más el Judío? ¿O qué aprovecha la circuncisión?

2 M uch every way: first of all, that they were intrusted with the oracles of God.

Mucho en todas maneras. Lo primero ciertamente, que los oráculos de Dios les han sido confiados.

3 F or what if some were without faith? shall their want of faith make of none effect the faithfulness of God?

¿Pues qué, si algunos de ellos han sido incrédulos? ¿La incredulidad de ellos habrá por esto hecho vana la verdad de Dios?

4 G od forbid: yea, let God be found true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy words, And mightest prevail when thou comest into judgment.

En ninguna manera; porque Dios es Verdadero y todo hombre es mentiroso, como está escrito: Para que seas justificado en tus dichos, y venzas cuando juzgares.

5 B ut if our righteousness commendeth the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who visiteth with wrath? (I speak after the manner of men.)

Y si nuestra iniquidad engrandece la justicia de Dios, ¿qué diremos? ¿Será por esto injusto Dios que da castigo? (hablo como hombre.)

6 G od forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?

En ninguna manera; de otro modo, ¿cómo juzgaría Dios al mundo?

7 B ut if the truth of God through my lie abounded unto his glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?

Pero si la verdad de Dios creció para su gloria por mi mentira, ¿por qué aún así yo soy juzgado como pecador?

8 a nd why not (as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), Let us do evil, that good may come? whose condemnation is just.

¿Y por qué no decir (como somos infamados, y como algunos dicen que nosotros decimos): Hagamos males para que vengan bienes? La condenación de los cuales es justa.

9 W hat then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we before laid to the charge both of Jews and Greeks, that they are all under sin;

¿Qué pues? ¿Somos mejores que ellos? En ninguna manera, porque ya hemos comprobado a judíos y a griegos, que todos están bajo pecado.

10 a s it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one;

Como está escrito: No hay justo, ni aun uno;

11 T here is none that understandeth, There is none that seeketh after God;

no hay quien entienda, no hay quien busque a Dios;

12 T hey have all turned aside, they are together become unprofitable; There is none that doeth good, no, not, so much as one:

todos se apartaron, a una fueron hechos inútiles; no hay quien haga lo bueno, no hay ni aun uno;

13 T heir throat is an open sepulchre; With their tongues they have used deceit: The poison of asps is under their lips:

sepulcro abierto es su garganta; con sus lenguas tratan engañosamente; veneno de áspides está debajo de sus labios;

14 W hose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

cuya boca está llena de maledicencia y de amargura;

15 T heir feet are swift to shed blood;

sus pies son ligeros para derramar sangre;

16 D estruction and misery are in their ways;

quebrantamiento y desventura hay en sus caminos;

17 A nd the way of peace have they not known:

y camino de paz no conocieron:

18 T here is no fear of God before their eyes.

no hay temor de Dios delante de sus ojos.

19 N ow we know that what things soever the law saith, it speaketh to them that are under the law; that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God:

¶ Pero sabemos que todo lo que la ley dice, a los que están en la ley lo dice, para que toda boca se tape, y que todo el mundo se sujete a Dios;

20 b ecause by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight; for through the law cometh the knowledge of sin.

porque por las obras de la ley ninguna carne se justificará delante de él; porque por la ley es el conocimiento del pecado.

21 B ut now apart from the law a righteousness of God hath been manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

Pero ahora, sin la ley, la justicia de Dios se ha manifestado, testificada por la ley y por los profetas;

22 e ven the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ unto all them that believe; for there is no distinction;

la justicia, digo, de Dios por la fe de Jesús el Cristo, para todos y sobre todos los que creen en él. Porque no hay diferencia,

23 f or all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;

por cuanto todos pecaron, y están destituidos de la gloria de Dios;

24 b eing justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

justificados gratuitamente por su gracia mediante la redención que es en Jesús el Cristo;

25 w hom God set forth to be a propitiation, through faith, in his blood, to show his righteousness because of the passing over of the sins done aforetime, in the forbearance of God;

al cual Dios ha propuesto por reconciliación mediante la fe en su sangre, para manifestación de su justicia, para la remisión de los pecados pasados;

26 f or the showing, I say, of his righteousness at this present season: that he might himself be just, and the justifier of him that hath faith in Jesus.

por la paciencia de Dios, manifestando su justicia en este tiempo, para que él solo sea el Justo y el que justifica al que es de la fe de Jesús el Cristo.

27 W here then is the glorying? It is excluded. By what manner of law? of works? Nay: but by a law of faith.

¿Dónde pues está la jactancia? Es echada fuera. ¿Por cuál ley? ¿De las obras? No; sino por la ley de la fe.

28 W e reckon therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

Así que, concluimos que el hombre es justificado por fe sin las obras de la ley.

29 O r is God the God of Jews only? is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yea, of Gentiles also:

¿O es Dios solamente Dios de los judíos? ¿No es también Dios de los gentiles? Cierto, también es Dios de los gentiles.

30 i f so be that God is one, and he shall justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcision through faith.

Porque un solo Dios es de todos, el cual justificará por la fe la circuncisión, y por la fe la incircuncisión.

31 D o we then make the law of none effect through faith? God forbid: nay, we establish the law.

¿Luego deshacemos la ley por la fe? En ninguna manera; antes establecemos la ley.
