1 N ow Jehoshaphat had riches and honor in abundance; and he joined affinity with Ahab.

Tenía, pues, Josafat riquezas y gloria en abundancia, y emparentó con Acab.

2 A nd after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that were with him, and moved him to go up with him to Ramoth-gilead.

Y después de algunos años descendió a Acab a Samaria; por lo que mató Acab muchas ovejas y bueyes para él, y para el pueblo que había venido con él; y le persuadió que fuera con él a Ramot de Galaad.

3 A nd Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth-gilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.

Y dijo Acab rey de Israel a Josafat rey de Judá: ¿Quieres venir conmigo a Ramot de Galaad? Y él respondió: Como yo, así también tú; y como tu pueblo, así también mi pueblo; iremos contigo a la guerra.

4 A nd Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Inquire first, I pray thee, for the word of Jehovah.

Además dijo Josafat al rey de Israel: Te ruego que consultes hoy la palabra del SEÑOR.

5 T hen the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the hand of the king.

Entonces el rey de Israel juntó cuatrocientos varones profetas, y les dijo: ¿Iremos a la guerra contra Ramot de Galaad, o reposaremos? Y ellos dijeron: Sube, que Dios los entregará en mano del rey.

6 B ut Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of Jehovah besides, that we may inquire of him?

Mas Josafat dijo: ¿Hay aún aquí algún profeta del SEÑOR, para que por él preguntemos?

7 A nd the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Jehovah: but I hate him; for he never prophesieth good concerning me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

Y el rey de Israel respondió a Josafat: Aun hay aquí un hombre por el cual podemos preguntar al SEÑOR; mas yo le aborrezco, porque nunca me profetiza cosa buena, sino siempre mal. Este es Micaías, hijo de Imla. Y respondió Josafat: No hable así el rey.

8 T hen the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imla.

Entonces el rey de Israel llamó un eunuco, y le dijo: Haz venir luego a Micaías hijo de Imla.

9 N ow the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, and they were sitting in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.

Y el rey de Israel y Josafat rey de Judá, estaban sentados cada uno en su trono, vestidos con sus ropas; y estaban sentados en la era a la entrada de la puerta de Samaria, y todos los profetas profetizaban delante de ellos.

10 A nd Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith Jehovah, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until they be consumed.

Pero Sedequías hijo de Quenaana se había hecho unos cuernos de hierro, y decía: Así ha dicho el SEÑOR: Con estos acornearás a los sirios hasta destruirlos del todo.

11 A nd all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper; for Jehovah will deliver it into the hand of the king.

De esta manera profetizaban también todos los profetas, diciendo: Sube a Ramot de Galaad, y sé prosperado; porque el SEÑOR la entregará en mano del rey.

12 A nd the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth: let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good.

Y el mensajero que había ido a llamar a Micaías, le habló, diciendo: He aquí las palabras de todos los profetas a una boca anuncian al rey el bien; yo te ruego ahora que tu palabra sea como la de uno de ellos, que hables bien.

13 A nd Micaiah said, As Jehovah liveth, what my God saith, that will I speak.

Y dijo Micaías: Vive el SEÑOR, que lo que el SEÑOR mi Dios me dijere, eso hablaré. Y vino al rey.

14 A nd when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper; and they shall be delivered into your hand.

Y el rey le dijo: Micaías, ¿iremos a pelear contra Ramot de Galaad, o debemos desistir? Y él respondió: Subid, que seréis prosperados, que serán entregados en vuestras manos.

15 A nd the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou speak unto me nothing but the truth in the name of Jehovah?

Y el rey le dijo: ¿Hasta cuántas veces te conjuraré por el Nombre del SEÑOR que no me hables sino la verdad?

16 A nd he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and Jehovah said, These have no master; let them return every man to his house in peace.

Entonces él dijo: He visto a todo Israel disperso por los montes como ovejas sin pastor; y dijo el SEÑOR: Estos no tienen señor; vuélvase cada uno en paz en su casa.

17 A nd the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?

Y el rey de Israel dijo a Josafat: ¿No te había yo dicho que éste no me profetizará bien, sino mal?

18 A nd Micaiah said, Therefore hear ye the word of Jehovah: I saw Jehovah sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.

Entonces él dijo: Oíd pues palabra del SEÑOR: Yo he visto al SEÑOR sentado en su trono, y todo el ejército de los cielos estaba a su mano derecha y a su izquierda.

19 A nd Jehovah said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.

Y el SEÑOR dijo: ¿Quién inducirá a Acab rey de Israel, para que suba y caiga en Ramot de Galaad? Y uno decía así, y otro decía de otra manera.

20 A nd there came forth a spirit, and stood before Jehovah, and said, I will entice him. And Jehovah said unto him, Wherewith?

Mas salió un espíritu, que se puso delante del SEÑOR, y dijo: Yo le induciré. Y el SEÑOR le dijo: ¿De qué modo?

21 A nd he said, I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt entice him, and shalt prevail also: go forth, and do so.

Y él dijo: Saldré y seré espíritu de mentira en la boca de todos los profetas. Y el SEÑOR dijo: Induce, y también prevalece; sal, y hazlo así.

22 N ow therefore, behold, Jehovah hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets; and Jehovah hath spoken evil concerning thee.

Y he aquí ahora ha puesto el SEÑOR espíritu de mentira en la boca de éstos tus profetas; mas el SEÑOR ha decretado el mal acerca de ti.

23 T hen Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of Jehovah from me to speak unto thee?

Entonces Sedequías hijo de Quenaana se le acercó a él, e hirió a Micaías en la mejilla, y dijo: ¿Por qué camino se apartó de mí el espíritu del SEÑOR para hablarte a ti?

24 A nd Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day, when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.

Y Micaías respondió: He aquí tú lo verás aquel día, cuando te entrarás de cámara en cámara para esconderte.

25 A nd the king of Israel said, Take ye Micaiah, and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;

Entonces el rey de Israel dijo: Tomad a Micaías, y llevadlo a Amón, el gobernador de la ciudad, y a Joás hijo del rey,

26 a nd say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.

y diréis: El rey ha dicho así: Poned a éste en la cárcel, y sustentadle con pan de aflicción y agua de angustia, hasta que yo vuelva en paz.

27 A nd Micaiah said, If thou return at all in peace, Jehovah hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hear, ye peoples, all of you.

Y Micaías dijo: Si tú volvieres en paz, el SEÑOR no ha hablado por mí. Dijo además: Oíd esto, todos los pueblos.

28 S o the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead.

¶ Y el rey de Israel subió, con Josafat rey de Judá, a Ramot de Galaad.

29 A nd the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and go into the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went into the battle.

Y dijo el rey de Israel a Josafat: Yo me disfrazaré para entrar en la batalla; mas tú vístete tus vestidos. Y se disfrazó el rey de Israel, y entró en la batalla.

30 N ow the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.

El rey de Siria había mandado a los capitanes de los carros que tenía consigo, diciendo: No peleéis con chico ni con grande, sino sólo con el rey de Israel.

31 A nd it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they turned about to fight against him: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and Jehovah helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.

Y cuando los capitanes de los carros vieron a Josafat, dijeron: Este es el rey de Israel. Y lo cercaron para pelear; mas Josafat clamó, y le ayudó el SEÑOR, y Dios los apartó de él.

32 A nd it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.

Y viendo los capitanes de los carros que no era el rey de Israel, se apartaron de él.

33 A nd a certain man drew his bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the armor: wherefore he said to the driver of the chariot, Turn thy hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am sore wounded.

Mas disparando uno el arco con toda su capacidad, hirió al rey de Israel entre las junturas de su cota. El entonces dijo al carretero: Vuelve tu mano, y sácame del campo, porque estoy herido.

34 A nd the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even; and about the time of the going down of the sun he died.

Y arreció la batalla aquel día; mas el rey de Israel estuvo en pie en el carro enfrente de los sirios hasta la tarde, y murió al ponerse el sol.
