1 P raise ye Jehovah. Oh give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; For his lovingkindness endureth forever.

¶ Alelu-JAH. Alabad al SEÑOR, porque es bueno; porque para siempre es su misericordia.

2 W ho can utter the mighty acts of Jehovah, Or show forth all his praise?

¿Quién expresará las valentías del SEÑOR? ¿Quién contará sus alabanzas?

3 B lessed are they that keep justice, And he that doeth righteousness at all times.

Dichosos los que guardan juicio, los que hacen justicia en todo tiempo.

4 R emember me, O Jehovah, with the favor that thou bearest unto thy people; Oh visit me with thy salvation,

Acuérdate de mí, oh SEÑOR, en la buena voluntad para con tu pueblo; visítame con tu salud;

5 T hat I may see the prosperity of thy chosen, That I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, That I may glory with thine inheritance.

para que yo vea el bien de tus escogidos, para que me goce en la alegría de tu nación, y me gloríe con tu heredad.

6 W e have sinned with our fathers, We have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.

¶ Pecamos con nuestros padres, pervertimos, hicimos impiedad.

7 O ur fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; They remembered not the multitude of thy lovingkindnesses, But were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea.

Nuestros padres en Egipto no entendieron tus maravillas; no se acordaron de la muchedumbre de tus misericordias; sino que se rebelaron junto al mar, en el mar Bermejo.

8 N evertheless he saved them for his name's sake, That he might make his mighty power to be known.

Los salvó por su Nombre, para hacer notoria su fortaleza.

9 H e rebuked the Red Sea also, and it was dried up: So he led them through the depths, as through a wilderness.

Y reprendió al mar Bermejo, y lo secó; y les hizo ir por el abismo, como por un desierto.

10 A nd he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

Y los salvó de mano del enemigo, y los rescató de mano del adversario.

11 A nd the waters covered their adversaries; There was not one of them left.

Y cubrieron las aguas a sus enemigos; no quedó uno de ellos.

12 T hen believed they his words; They sang his praise.

Entonces creyeron a sus palabras, y cantaron su alabanza.

13 T hey soon forgat his works; They waited not for his counsel,

¶ Se apresuraron, se olvidaron de sus obras; no esperaron en su consejo.

14 B ut lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, And tempted God in the desert.

Se entregaron a un deseo desordenado en el desierto; y tentaron a Dios en la soledad.

15 A nd he gave them their request, But sent leanness into their soul.

Y él les dio lo que pidieron; mas envió flaqueza en sus almas.

16 T hey envied Moses also in the camp, And Aaron the saint of Jehovah.

Tomaron después celo contra Moisés en el campamento, y contra Aarón el santo del SEÑOR.

17 T he earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, And covered the company of Abiram.

Se abrió la tierra, y tragó a Datán, y cubrió la compañía de Abiram.

18 A nd a fire was kindled in their company; The flame burned up the wicked.

Y se encendió el fuego en su compañía; la llama quemó los impíos.

19 T hey made a calf in Horeb, And worshipped a molten image.

Hicieron el becerro en Horeb, y adoraron a un vaciadizo.

20 T hus they changed their glory For the likeness of an ox that eateth grass.

Así trocaron su gloria por la imagen de un buey que come hierba.

21 T hey forgat God their Saviour, Who had done great things in Egypt,

Olvidaron al Dios de su salud, que había hecho grandezas en Egipto;

22 W ondrous works in the land of Ham, And terrible things by the Red Sea.

maravillas en la tierra de Cam, temerosas cosas sobre el mar Bermejo.

23 T herefore he said that he would destroy them, Had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, To turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

Y trató de destruirlos, a no haberse puesto Moisés su escogido al portillo delante de él, a fin de apartar su ira, para que no los destruyera.

24 Y ea, they despised the pleasant land, They believed not his word,

Y aborrecieron la tierra deseable; no creyeron a su palabra;

25 B ut murmured in their tents, And hearkened not unto the voice of Jehovah.

antes murmuraron en sus tiendas, y no oyeron la voz del SEÑOR.

26 T herefore he sware unto them, That he would overthrow them in the wilderness,

Por lo que alzó su mano a ellos, para postrarlos en el desierto,

27 A nd that he would overthrow their seed among the nations, And scatter them in the lands.

y humillar su simiente entre los gentiles, y esparcirlos por las tierras.

28 T hey joined themselves also unto Baal-peor, And ate the sacrifices of the dead.

Se allegaron asimismo a Baal-peor, y comieron los sacrificios por los muertos.

29 T hus they provoked him to anger with their doings; And the plague brake in upon them.

Y ensañaron a Dios con sus obras, y aumentó la mortandad en ellos.

30 T hen stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment; And so the plague was stayed.

Entonces se puso Finees, y juzgó; y se detuvo la mortandad.

31 A nd that was reckoned unto him for righteousness, Unto all generations for evermore.

Y le fue contado a justicia de generación en generación para siempre.

32 T hey angered him also at the waters of Meribah, So that it went ill with Moses for their sakes;

También le irritaron en las aguas de Meriba; e hizo mal a Moisés por causa de ellos;

33 B ecause they were rebellious against his spirit, And he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

porque hicieron rebelar a su espíritu, como lo expresó con sus labios.

34 T hey did not destroy the peoples, As Jehovah commanded them,

¶ No destruyeron los pueblos que el SEÑOR les dijo;

35 B ut mingled themselves with the nations, And learned their works,

antes se mezclaron con los gentiles, y aprendieron sus obras.

36 A nd served their idols, Which became a snare unto them.

Y sirvieron a sus ídolos; los cuales les fueron por ruina.

37 Y ea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto demons,

Y sacrificaron sus hijos y sus hijas a los diablos;

38 A nd shed innocent blood, Even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, Whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan; And the land was polluted with blood.

y derramaron la sangre inocente, la sangre de sus hijos y de sus hijas, que sacrificaron a los ídolos de Canaán; y la tierra fue contaminada con sangre.

39 T hus were they defiled with their works, And played the harlot in their doings.

Se contaminaron así con sus propias obras, y fornicaron con sus hechos.

40 T herefore was the wrath of Jehovah kindled against his people, And he abhorred his inheritance.

Se encendió por tanto el furor del SEÑOR sobre su pueblo, y abominó su heredad:

41 A nd he gave them into the hand of the nations; And they that hated them ruled over them.

Y los entregó en poder de los gentiles, y se enseñorearon de ellos los que los aborrecían.

42 T heir enemies also oppressed them, And they were brought into subjection under their hand.

Y sus enemigos los oprimieron, y fueron quebrantados debajo de su mano.

43 M any times did he deliver them; But they were rebellious in their counsel, And were brought low in their iniquity.

Muchas veces los libró; mas ellos se rebelaron a su consejo, y fueron humillados por su iniquidad.

44 N evertheless he regarded their distress, When he heard their cry:

El con todo, miraba cuando estaban en angustia, y oía su clamor;

45 A nd he remembered for them his covenant, And repented according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.

y se acordaba de su pacto con ellos, y se arrepentía conforme a la muchedumbre de sus misericordias.

46 H e made them also to be pitied Of all those that carried them captive.

Hizo asimismo que tuvieran de ellos misericordia todos los que los tenían cautivos.

47 S ave us, O Jehovah our God, And gather us from among the nations, To give thanks unto thy holy name, And to triumph in thy praise.

Sálvanos, SEÑOR Dios nuestro, y júntanos de entre los gentiles, para que loemos tu santo Nombre, para que nos gloriemos de tus alabanzas.

48 B lessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting even to everlasting. And let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye Jehovah.

Bendito el SEÑOR Dios de Israel, desde el siglo y hasta el siglo; y diga todo el pueblo, Amén. Alelu-JAH.
