1 T hen Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers' houses of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of the city of David, which is Zion.

Entonces juntó Salomón los ancianos de Israel, y a todas las cabezas de las tribus, los príncipes de las familias de los hijos de Israel, al rey Salomón en Jerusalén para traer el arca del pacto del SEÑOR de la ciudad de David, que es Sion.

2 A nd all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast, in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

Y se juntaron al rey Salomón todos los varones de Israel en el mes de Etanim, que es el mes séptimo, en el día solemne.

3 A nd all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

Y vinieron todos los ancianos de Israel, y los sacerdotes tomaron el arca.

4 A nd they brought up the ark of Jehovah, and the tent of meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent; even these did the priests and the Levites bring up.

Y llevaron el arca del SEÑOR, y el tabernáculo del testimonio, y todos los vasos sagrados que estaban en el tabernáculo; los cuales llevaban los sacerdotes y levitas.

5 A nd king Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be counted nor numbered for multitude.

Y el rey Salomón, y toda la congregación de Israel que a él se había juntado, estaban con él delante del arca, sacrificando ovejas y bueyes, que por la multitud no se podían contar ni numerar.

6 A nd the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Jehovah unto its place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.

Y los sacerdotes metieron el arca del pacto del SEÑOR en su lugar, en el oráculo de la Casa, en el lugar santísimo, debajo de las alas de los querubines.

7 F or the cherubim spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and the staves thereof above.

Porque los querubines tenían extendidas las alas sobre el lugar del arca, y así cubrían los querubines el arca y sus varas por encima.

8 A nd the staves were so long that the ends of the staves were seen from the holy place before the oracle; but they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day.

E hicieron salir las varas; que las cabezas de las varas se dejaban ver desde el lugar santo delante del oráculo, mas no se veían desde afuera; y así se quedaron hasta hoy.

9 T here was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when Jehovah made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

En el arca ninguna cosa había además de las dos tablas de piedra que había allí puesto Moisés en Horeb, cuando el SEÑOR cortó un pacto con los hijos de Israel, cuando salieron de la tierra de Egipto.

10 A nd it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of Jehovah,

Y cuando los sacerdotes salieron del lugar santo, la nube llenó la Casa del SEÑOR.

11 s o that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for the glory of Jehovah filled the house of Jehovah.

Y los sacerdotes no pudieron estar para ministrar por causa de la nube; porque la gloria del SEÑOR había llenado la Casa del SEÑOR.

12 T hen spake Solomon, Jehovah hath said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

Entonces dijo Salomón: El SEÑOR ha dicho que él habitaría en la oscuridad.

13 I have surely built thee a house of habitation, a place for thee to dwell in for ever.

Yo he edificado casa por morada para ti, asiento en que tú habites para siempre.

14 A nd the king turned his face about, and blessed all the assembly of Israel: and all the assembly of Israel stood.

¶ Y volviendo el rey su rostro, bendijo a toda la congregación de Israel; y toda la congregación de Israel estaba en pie.

15 A nd he said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, who spake with his mouth unto David thy father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

Y dijo: Bendito sea el SEÑOR Dios de Israel, que habló de su boca a David mi padre, y con su mano lo ha cumplido, diciendo:

16 S ince the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.

Desde el día que saqué a mi pueblo Israel de Egipto, no he escogido ciudad de todas las tribus de Israel para edificar Casa en la cual estuviera mi nombre, aunque escogí a David para que presidiera en mi pueblo Israel.

17 N ow it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel.

Y David mi padre tuvo en el corazón edificar Casa para el nombre del SEÑOR Dios de Israel.

18 B ut Jehovah said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thy heart to build a house for my name, thou didst well that it was in thy heart:

Mas el SEÑOR dijo a David mi padre: En cuanto a haber tú tenido en el corazón edificar casa a mi nombre, bien has hecho en tener tal voluntad;

19 n evertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.

pero tú no edificarás la Casa, sino tu hijo que saldrá de tus lomos, él edificará Casa a mi nombre.

20 A nd Jehovah hath established his word that he spake; for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Jehovah promised, and have built the house for the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel.

Y el SEÑOR ha hecho firme su palabra que había dicho; que me he levantado yo en lugar de David mi padre, y me he sentado en el trono de Israel, como el SEÑOR había dicho, y he edificado la Casa para el nombre del SEÑOR Dios de Israel.

21 A nd there have I set a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of Jehovah, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.

Y he puesto en ella lugar para el arca, en la cual está el pacto del SEÑOR, que él hizo con nuestros padres cuando los sacó de la tierra de Egipto.

22 A nd Solomon stood before the altar of Jehovah in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;

Y se puso Salomón delante del altar del SEÑOR, en presencia de toda la congregación de Israel, y extendiendo sus manos al cielo,

23 a nd he said, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath; who keepest covenant and lovingkindness with thy servants, that walk before thee with all their heart;

dijo: SEÑOR Dios de Israel, no hay Dios como tú, ni arriba en los cielos ni abajo en la tierra, que guardas el pacto y la misericordia a tus siervos, los que andan delante de ti de todo su corazón;

24 w ho hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou didst promise him: yea, thou spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thy hand, as it is this day.

que has guardado a tu siervo David mi padre lo que le dijiste; lo dijiste con tu boca, y con tu mano lo has cumplido, como lo muestra este día.

25 N ow therefore, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me as thou hast walked before me.

Ahora pues, el SEÑOR Dios de Israel, cumple a tu siervo David mi padre lo que le prometiste, diciendo: No faltará varón de ti delante de mí, que se siente en el trono de Israel, con tal que tus hijos guarden su camino, que anden delante de mí como tú has andado delante de mí.

26 N ow therefore, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.

Ahora pues, oh Dios de Israel, que sea firme tu palabra que dijiste a tu siervo David mi padre.

27 B ut will God in very deed dwell on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded!

¿Es verdad que Dios haya de morar sobre la tierra? He aquí que los cielos, los cielos de los cielos, no te pueden contener; ¿cuánto menos esta Casa que yo he edificado?

28 Y et have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O Jehovah my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee this day;

Con todo, tú atenderás a la oración de tu siervo, y a su plegaria, oh SEÑOR Dios mío, oyendo el clamor y la oración que tu siervo hace hoy delante de ti;

29 t hat thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place whereof thou hast said, My name shall be there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall pray toward this place.

que estén tus ojos abiertos de noche y de día sobre esta Casa, sobre este lugar del cual has dicho: Mi nombre estará allí; y que oigas la oración que tu siervo hará en este lugar.

30 A nd hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: yea, hear thou in heaven thy dwelling-place; and when thou hearest, forgive.

Oirás pues la oración de tu siervo, y de tu pueblo Israel; cuando oraren en este lugar, también tú lo oirás en el lugar de tu habitación, desde los cielos; que oigas y perdones.

31 I f a man sin against his neighbor, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and he come and swear before thine altar in this house;

Cuando alguno hubiere pecado contra su prójimo, y le tomaren juramento haciéndole jurar, y viniere el juramento delante de tu altar en esta Casa;

32 t hen hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his own head, and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

tú oirás desde el cielo, y obrarás, y juzgarás a tus siervos, condenando al impío, dando su camino sobre su cabeza, y justificando al justo, dándole conforme a su justicia.

33 W hen thy people Israel are smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee; if they turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication unto thee in this house:

Cuando tu pueblo Israel hubiere caído delante de sus enemigos, por haber pecado contra ti, y a ti se volvieren, y confesaren tu nombre, y oraren, y te rogaren con humildad en esta Casa;

34 t hen hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their fathers.

tú los oirás desde los cielos, y perdonarás el pecado de tu pueblo Israel, y los volverás a la tierra que diste a sus padres.

35 W hen heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them:

Cuando el cielo se cerrare, y no haya lluvias, por haber pecado contra ti, y te rogaren en este lugar, y confesaren tu nombre, y se volvieren del pecado, cuando los hubieres afligido;

36 t hen hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou teachest them the good way wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.

tú oirás en los cielos, y perdonarás el pecado de tus siervos y de tu pueblo Israel, enseñándoles el buen camino en que anden; y darás lluvias sobre tu tierra, la cual diste a tu pueblo por heredad.

37 I f there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting or mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be;

Cuando en la tierra hubiere hambre, o pestilencia; o hubiere tizoncillo, o niebla; o hubiere langosta, o pulgón; si sus enemigos los tuvieren cercados en la tierra de sus puertas; cualquier plaga o enfermedad que sea;

38 w hat prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, who shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

toda oración y toda súplica que hiciere cualquier hombre, o todo tu pueblo Israel, cuando cualquiera sintiere la plaga de su corazón, y extendiere sus manos a esta Casa;

39 t hen hear thou in heaven thy dwelling-place, and forgive, and do, and render unto every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;)

tú oirás en los cielos, en la habitación de tu morada, y perdonarás, y obrarás, y darás a cada uno conforme a todos sus caminos, cuyo corazón tú conoces (porque sólo tú conoces el corazón de todos los hijos de los hombres);

40 t hat they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.

para que te teman todos los días que vivieren sobre la faz de la tierra que tú diste a nuestros padres.

41 M oreover concerning the foreigner, that is not of thy people Israel, when he shall come out of a far country for thy name's sake;

Asimismo el extranjero, que no es de tu pueblo Israel, que hubiere venido de lejanas tierras a causa de tu nombre,

42 ( for they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy mighty hand, and of thine outstretched arm); when he shall come and pray toward this house;

(porque habrán oído de tu gran nombre, y de tu mano fuerte, y de tu brazo extendido), y viniere a orar a esta Casa;

43 h ear thou in heaven thy dwelling-place, and do according to all that the foreigner calleth to thee for; that all the peoples of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by my name.

tú oirás desde los cielos, en la habitación de tu morada, y harás conforme a todo aquello por lo cual el extranjero hubiere clamado a ti; para que todos los pueblos de la tierra conozcan tu nombre, y te teman, como tu pueblo Israel, y sepan que tu nombre es invocado sobre esta Casa que yo edifiqué.

44 I f thy people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatsoever way thou shalt send them, and they pray unto Jehovah toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name;

Si tu pueblo saliere en batalla contra sus enemigos por el camino que tú los enviares, y oraren al SEÑOR hacia la ciudad que tú elegiste, y hacia la Casa que yo edifiqué para tu nombre,

45 t hen hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

tú oirás en los cielos su oración y su súplica, y harás su juicio.

46 I f they sin against thee (for there is no man that sinneth not), and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive unto the land of the enemy, far off or near;

Si hubieren pecado contra ti (porque no hay hombre que no peque) y tú estuvieres airado contra ellos, y los entregares delante del enemigo, para que los cautiven y lleven a tierra enemiga, sea lejos o cerca,

47 y et if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn again, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captive, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have dealt wickedly;

y ellos volvieren a su corazón en la tierra donde fueren cautivos; si volvieren, y oraren a ti en la tierra de los que los cautivaron, y dijeren: Pecamos, hemos hecho iniquidad, hemos cometido impiedad;

48 i f they return unto thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies, who carried them captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:

y si se convirtieren a ti de todo su corazón y de toda su alma, en la tierra de sus enemigos que los hubieren llevado cautivos, y oraren a ti hacia su tierra, que tú diste a sus padres, hacia la ciudad que tú elegiste y la Casa que yo he edificado a tu nombre;

49 t hen hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling-place, and maintain their cause;

tú oirás en los cielos, en la habitación de tu morada, su oración y su súplica, y les harás derecho;

50 a nd forgive thy people who have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee; and give them compassion before those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them;

y perdonarás a tu pueblo que había pecado contra ti, y todas sus rebeliones con que se habrán rebelado contra ti; y harás que hagan con ellos misericordia los que los hubieren llevado cautivos;

51 ( for they are thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron);

porque ellos son tu pueblo y tu heredad, que tú sacaste de Egipto, de en medio del horno de hierro.

52 t hat thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken unto them whensoever they cry unto thee.

Que tus ojos estén abiertos a la oración de tu siervo, y a la plegaria de tu pueblo Israel, para oírlos en todo aquello por lo que te invocaren;

53 F or thou didst separate them from among all the peoples of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord Jehovah.

pues que tú los apartaste para ti por tu heredad de todos los pueblos de la tierra, como lo dijiste por mano de Moisés tu siervo, cuando sacaste a nuestros padres de Egipto, oh Señor DIOS.

54 A nd it was so, that, when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto Jehovah, he arose from before the altar of Jehovah, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread forth toward heaven.

Y fue, que cuando acabó Salomón de orar al SEÑOR toda esta oración y súplica, se levantó de estar de rodillas delante del altar del SEÑOR con sus manos extendidas al cielo;

55 A nd he stood, and blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying,

y se puso en pie, y bendijo a toda la congregación de Israel, diciendo en voz alta:

56 B lessed be Jehovah, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by Moses his servant.

Bendito sea el SEÑOR, que ha dado reposo a su pueblo Israel, conforme a todo lo que él había dicho; ninguna palabra de todas sus buenas palabras que dijo por Moisés su siervo, ha faltado.

57 J ehovah our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us;

Sea con nosotros el SEÑOR nuestro Dios, como fue con nuestros padres; y no nos desampare, ni nos deje;

58 t hat he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his ordinances, which he commanded our fathers.

incline nuestro corazón hacia él, para que andemos en todos sus caminos, y guardemos sus mandamientos y sus estatutos y sus derechos, los cuales mandó a nuestros padres.

59 A nd let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before Jehovah, be nigh unto Jehovah our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel, as every day shall require;

Y que éstas mis palabras con que he orado delante del SEÑOR estén cerca del SEÑOR nuestro Dios de día y de noche, para que él haga el juicio de su siervo, y de su pueblo Israel, cómo y cuándo la necesidad lo demandare;

60 t hat all the peoples of the earth may know that Jehovah, he is God; there is none else.

para que todos los pueblos de la tierra sepan que el SEÑOR es Dios, y que no hay otro.

61 L et your heart therefore be perfect with Jehovah our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

Sea pues perfecto vuestro corazón para con el SEÑOR nuestro Dios, andando en sus estatutos, y guardando sus mandamientos, como el día de hoy.

62 A nd the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before Jehovah.

¶ Entonces el rey, y todo Israel con él, ofrecieron sacrificios delante del SEÑOR.

63 A nd Solomon offered for the sacrifice of peace-offerings, which he offered unto Jehovah, two and twenty thousand oxen, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of Jehovah.

Y ofreció Salomón sacrificios pacíficos, los cuales sacrificó al SEÑOR, que fueron veintidós mil bueyes, y ciento veinte mil ovejas. Así dedicaron el rey y todos los hijos de Israel la Casa del SEÑOR.

64 T he same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of Jehovah; for there he offered the burnt-offering, and the meal-offering, and the fat of the peace-offerings, because the brazen altar that was before Jehovah was too little to receive the burnt-offering, and the meal-offering, and the fat of the peace-offerings.

Aquel mismo día santificó el rey el medio del atrio que estaba delante de la Casa del SEÑOR: porque ofreció allí los holocaustos, y los presentes, y los sebos de los pacíficos; por cuanto el altar de bronce que estaba delante del SEÑOR era pequeño, y no cabían en él los holocaustos, y los presentes, y los sebos de los pacíficos.

65 S o Solomon held the feast at that time, and all Israel with him, a great assembly, from the entrance of Hamath unto the brook of Egypt, before Jehovah our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.

En aquel tiempo Salomón hizo fiesta, y con él todo Israel, una gran congregación, desde donde entran en Hamat hasta el río de Egipto, delante del SEÑOR nuestro Dios, por siete días y aun otros siete días, esto es, por catorce días.

66 O n the eighth day he sent the people away; and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that Jehovah had showed unto David his servant, and to Israel his people.

Y el octavo día despidió al pueblo; y ellos bendiciendo al rey, se fueron a sus estancias alegres y gozosos de corazón por toda la bondad que el SEÑOR había hecho a David su siervo, y a su pueblo Israel.
