1 A nd again he began to teach by the sea side. And there is gathered unto him a very great multitude, so that he entered into a boat, and sat in the sea; and all the multitude were by the sea on the land.

¶ Otra vez comenzó a enseñar junto al mar, y se juntó a él gran multitud; tanto, que entrando él en un barco, se sentó en el mar; y toda la multitud estaba en tierra junto al mar.

2 A nd he taught them many things in parables, and said unto them in his teaching,

Y les enseñaba por parábolas muchas cosas, y les decía en su doctrina:

3 H earken: Behold, the sower went forth to sow:

Oíd: He aquí, el sembrador salió a sembrar.

4 a nd it came to pass, as he sowed, some seed fell by the way side, and the birds came and devoured it.

Y aconteció sembrando, que una parte cayó junto al camino; y vinieron las aves del cielo, y la tragaron.

5 A nd other fell on the rocky ground, where it had not much earth; and straightway it sprang up, because it had no deepness of earth:

Otra parte cayó en pedregales, donde no tenía mucha tierra; y luego salió, porque no tenía la tierra profundidad;

6 a nd when the sun was risen, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

mas salido el sol, se quemó; y por cuanto no tenía raíz, se secó.

7 A nd other fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

Otra parte cayó en espinas; y subieron las espinas, y la ahogaron, y no dio fruto.

8 A nd others fell into the good ground, and yielded fruit, growing up and increasing; and brought forth, thirtyfold, and sixtyfold, and a hundredfold.

Otra parte cayó en buena tierra, y dio fruto, que subió y creció; y llevó uno a treinta, y otro a sesenta, y otro a ciento.

9 A nd he said, Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Entonces les dijo: El que tiene oídos para oír, oiga.

10 A nd when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parables.

Cuando estuvo solo, le preguntaron los que estaban cerca de él con los doce, sobre la parábola.

11 A nd he said unto them, Unto you is given the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all things are done in parables:

Y les dijo: A vosotros es dado saber el misterio del Reino de Dios; mas a los que están fuera, por parábolas todas las cosas;

12 t hat seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest haply they should turn again, and it should be forgiven them.

para que viendo, vean y no perciban; y oyendo, oigan y no entiendan; para que no se conviertan, y les sean perdonados los pecados.

13 A nd he saith unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how shall ye know all the parables?

Y les dijo: ¿No sabéis esta parábola? ¿Cómo, pues, entenderéis todas las parábolas?

14 T he sower soweth the word.

El sembrador es el que siembra la Palabra.

15 A nd these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; and when they have heard, straightway cometh Satan, and taketh away the word which hath been sown in them.

Y éstos son los de junto al camino; en los que la Palabra es sembrada; mas después que la oyeron, luego viene Satanás, y quita la Palabra que fue sembrada en sus corazones.

16 A nd these in like manner are they that are sown upon the rocky places, who, when they have heard the word, straightway receive it with joy;

Y asimismo éstos son los que son sembrados en pedregales: los que cuando han oído la Palabra, luego la toman con gozo;

17 a nd they have no root in themselves, but endure for a while; then, when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, straightway they stumble.

pero no tienen raíz en sí, antes son temporales, que levantándose la tribulación o la persecución por causa de la Palabra, luego se escandalizan.

18 A nd others are they that are sown among the thorns; these are they that have heard the word,

Y éstos son los que son sembrados entre espinas: los que oyen la palabra;

19 a nd the cares of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

pero los cuidados de este siglo, y el engaño de las riquezas, y las codicias que hay en las otras cosas, entrando, ahogan la Palabra, y es hecha sin fruto.

20 A nd those are they that were sown upon the good ground; such as hear the word, and accept it, and bear fruit, thirtyfold, and sixtyfold, and a hundredfold.

Y éstos son los que fueron sembrados en buena tierra: los que oyen la Palabra, y la reciben, y hacen fruto, uno a treinta, otro a sesenta, y otro a ciento.

21 A nd he said unto them, Is the lamp brought to be put under the bushel, or under the bed, and not to be put on the stand?

¶ También les dijo: ¿Viene la lámpara para ser puesta debajo del almud, o debajo de la cama? ¿No viene para ser puesta en el candelero?

22 F or there is nothing hid, save that it should be manifested; neither was anything made secret, but that it should come to light.

Porque no hay nada oculto que no haya de ser manifestado, ni secreto que no haya de venir al descubierto.

23 I f any man hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Si alguno tiene oídos para oír, oiga.

24 A nd he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete it shall be measured unto you; and more shall be given unto you.

Les dijo también: Mirad lo que oís: con la medida que medís, os medirán otros, y será añadido a vosotros los que oís.

25 F or he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken away even that which he hath.

Porque al que tiene, le será dado; y al que no tiene, aun lo que tiene le será quitado.

26 A nd he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed upon the earth;

Decía además: Así es el Reino de Dios, como si un hombre echa simiente en la tierra;

27 a nd should sleep and rise night and day, and the seed should spring up and grow, he knoweth not how.

y duerme, y se levanta de noche y de día, y la simiente brota y crece como él no sabe.

28 T he earth beareth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.

Porque de suyo fructifica la tierra, primero hierba, luego espiga, después grano lleno en la espiga;

29 B ut when the fruit is ripe, straightway he putteth forth the sickle, because the harvest is come.

y cuando el fruto fuere producido, luego se mete la hoz, porque la siega es llegada.

30 A nd he said, How shall we liken the kingdom of God? or in what parable shall we set it forth?

También decía: ¿A qué haremos semejante el Reino de Dios? ¿O con qué parábola le compararemos?

31 I t is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown upon the earth, though it be less than all the seeds that are upon the earth,

Es como el grano de mostaza, que cuando se siembra en tierra, es la más pequeña de todas las simientes que hay en la tierra;

32 y et when it is sown, groweth up, and becometh greater than all the herbs, and putteth out great branches; so that the birds of the heaven can lodge under the shadow thereof.

mas después de sembrado, sube, y se hace la mayor de todas las legumbres, y echa grandes ramas, de tal manera que las aves del cielo puedan morar bajo su sombra.

33 A nd with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it;

Y con muchas parábolas como éstas les hablaba la Palabra, conforme a lo que podían oír.

34 a nd without a parable spake he not unto them: but privately to his own disciples he expounded all things.

Sin parábola no les hablaba; pero a sus discípulos en particular declaraba todo.

35 A nd on that day, when even was come, he saith unto them, Let us go over unto the other side.

¶ Y les dijo aquel día cuando fue tarde: Pasemos al otro lado.

36 A nd leaving the multitude, they take him with them, even as he was, in the boat. And other boats were with him.

Y enviando la multitud, le tomaron como estaba en el barco; y había también con él otros barquitos.

37 A nd there ariseth a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the boat, insomuch that the boat was now filling.

Y se levantó una grande tempestad de viento, y echaba las olas en el barco, de tal manera que ya se llenaba.

38 A nd he himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion: and they awake him, and say unto him, Teacher, carest thou not that we perish?

El estaba en la popa, durmiendo sobre un cabezal, y le despertaron, y le dijeron: ¿Maestro, no tienes cuidado que perecemos?

39 A nd he awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Y levantándose, increpó al viento, y dijo al mar: Calla, enmudece. Y cesó el viento, y fue hecha grande bonanza.

40 A nd he said unto them, Why are ye fearful? have ye not yet faith?

Y a ellos dijo: ¿Por qué estáis así amedrentados? ¿Cómo no tenéis fe?

41 A nd they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

Y temieron con gran temor, y decían el uno al otro. ¿Quién es éste, que aun el viento y el mar le obedecen?
