1 C ome near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye peoples: let the earth hear, and the fulness thereof; the world, and all things that come forth from it.

Gentiles, allegaos a oír, y escuchad, pueblos. Oiga la tierra y lo que la llene; el mundo y todo lo que él produce.

2 F or Jehovah hath indignation against all the nations, and wrath against all their host: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.

Porque el SEÑOR está airado sobre todos los gentiles, y enojado sobre todo el ejército de ellos; los destruirá y los entregará al matadero.

3 T heir slain also shall be cast out, and the stench of their dead bodies shall come up; and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.

Y los muertos de ellos serán arrojados, y de sus cadáveres se levantará hedor; y los montes se desleirán por la multitud de su sangre.

4 A nd all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll; and all their host shall fade away, as the leaf fadeth from off the vine, and as a fading leaf from the fig-tree.

Y toda la compostura de los cielos se corromperá, y se plegarán los cielos como un libro; y todo su ejército caerá, como se cae la hoja de la parra, y como se cae la de la higuera.

5 F or my sword hath drunk its fill in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Edom, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.

Porque en los cielos se embriagará mi espada; he aquí que descenderá sobre Edom en juicio, y sobre el pueblo de mi anatema.

6 T he sword of Jehovah is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams; for Jehovah hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.

Llena está de sangre la espada del SEÑOR, engrasada está de grosura, de sangre de corderos y de cabritos, de grosura de riñones de carneros; porque el SEÑOR tiene sacrificio en Bosra, y grande matanza en tierra de Edom.

7 A nd the wild-oxen shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls: and their land shall be drunken with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.

Y con ellos vendrán abajo unicornios, y toros con becerros; y su tierra se embriagará de sangre, y su polvo se engrasará de grosura.

8 F or Jehovah hath a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.

Porque será día de venganza del SEÑOR, año de pagamentos en el pleito de Sion.

9 A nd the streams of Edom shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.

Y sus arroyos se tornarán en brea; y su polvo en azufre; y su tierra en brea ardiente.

10 I t shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever; from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.

No se apagará de noche ni de día, perpetuamente subirá su humo; de generación en generación será asolada, nunca jamás pasará nadie por ella.

11 B ut the pelican and the porcupine shall possess it; and the owl and the raven shall dwell therein: and he will stretch over it the line of confusion, and the plummet of emptiness.

Y la poseerán el pelícano y el mochuelo, la lechuza y el cuervo morarán en ella; y se extenderá sobre ella cordel de confusión, y niveles de desolación.

12 T hey shall call the nobles thereof to the kingdom, but none shall be there; and all its princes shall be nothing.

Llamarán a sus príncipes, príncipes sin reino; y todos sus grandes serán nada.

13 A nd thorns shall come up in its palaces, nettles and thistles in the fortresses thereof; and it shall be a habitation of jackals, a court for ostriches.

En sus alcázares crecerán espinas, y ortigas; y cardos, en sus fortalezas; y serán morada de dragones, patio para los pollos de los avestruces.

14 A nd the wild beasts of the desert shall meet with the wolves, and the wild goat shall cry to his fellow; yea, the night-monster shall settle there, and shall find her a place of rest.

Y las bestias monteses se encontrarán con los gatos cervales, y el sátiro gritará a su compañero; la lamía también tendrá allí asiento, y hallará para sí reposo.

15 T here shall the dart-snake make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shade; yea, there shall the kites be gathered, every one with her mate.

Allí anidará el cuclillo, conservará sus huevos, y sacará sus pollos, y los juntará debajo de sus alas. También se ayuntarán allí buitres, cada uno con su compañera.

16 S eek ye out of the book of Jehovah, and read: no one of these shall be missing, none shall want her mate; for my mouth, it hath commanded, and his Spirit, it hath gathered them.

Preguntad de lo que está escrito en el libro del SEÑOR, y leed, si faltó alguno de ellos; ninguno faltó con su compañera; porque su boca mandó y su mismo Espíritu los ayuntó.

17 A nd he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever; from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.

Y él les echó las suertes, y su mano les repartió con cordel; por tanto para siempre la tendrán por heredad; de generación en generación morarán allí.
