1 A nd there was a man of the hill-country of Ephraim, whose name was Micah.

¶ Hubo un varón del monte de Efraín, que se llamaba Micaía.

2 A nd he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred pieces of silver that were taken from thee, about which thou didst utter a curse, and didst also speak it in mine ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed be my son of Jehovah.

El cual dijo a su madre: Los mil cien siclos de plata que te fueron hurtados, por lo que tú maldecías oyéndolo yo, he aquí que yo tengo este dinero; yo lo había tomado. Entonces la madre dijo: Bendito seas del SEÑOR, hijo mío.

3 A nd he restored the eleven hundred pieces of silver to his mother; and his mother said, I verily dedicate the silver unto Jehovah from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.

Y luego que él devolvió a su madre los mil cien siclos de plata, su madre dijo: Yo he dedicado este dinero al SEÑOR de mi mano para ti, hijo mío, para que hagas una imagen de talla y una de fundición; ahora, pues, yo te lo devuelvo.

4 A nd when he restored the money unto his mother, his mother took two hundred pieces of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made thereof a graven image and a molten image: and it was in the house of Micah.

Mas él devolvió a su madre el dinero, tomó su madre doscientos siclos de plata, y los dio al fundidor; y él le hizo de ellos una imagen de talla y una de fundición, la cual fue puesta en casa de Micaía.

5 A nd the man Micah had a house of gods, and he made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.

Y tuvo este hombre Micaía burdel de idolatría, y se hizo hacer efod y terafín (los vasos, vestidos e instrumentos pertenecientes al culto idolátrico), y consagró uno de sus hijos; y le fue por sacerdote.

6 I n those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

En estos días no había rey en Israel; cada uno hacía como mejor le parecía.

7 A nd there was a young man out of Beth-lehem-judah, of the family of Judah, who was a Levite; and he sojourned there.

¶ Y había un joven de Belén de Judá, de la familia de Judá, el cual era levita; y peregrinaba allí.

8 A nd the man departed out of the city, out of Beth-lehem-judah, to sojourn where he could find a place, and he came to the hill-country of Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he journeyed.

Este varón había partido de la ciudad de Belén de Judá, para ir a vivir donde hallara lugar; y llegando al monte de Efraín, vino a casa de Micaía, para de allí hacer su camino.

9 A nd Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I am a Levite of Beth-lehem-judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place.

Y Micaía le dijo: ¿De dónde vienes? Y él le respondió: Soy levita de Belén de Judá, y voy a vivir donde hallare lugar.

10 A nd Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten pieces of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy victuals. So the Levite went in.

Entonces Micaía le dijo: Quédate en mi casa, y me serás en lugar de padre y sacerdote; y yo te daré diez siclos de plata por año, y el ordinario de vestidos, y tu comida. Y el levita se quedó.

11 A nd the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was unto him as one of his sons.

Acordó, pues, el levita en morar con aquel hombre, y él lo tenía como a uno de sus hijos.

12 A nd Micah consecrated the Levite, and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.

Y Micaía consagró al levita, y aquel joven le servía de sacerdote, y estaba en casa de Micaía.

13 T hen said Micah, Now know I that Jehovah will do me good, seeing I have a Levite to my priest.

Y Micaía dijo: Ahora sé que el SEÑOR me hará bien, pues que el levita es hecho mi sacerdote.
