1 A nd as they spake unto the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,

¶ Y hablando ellos al pueblo, sobrevinieron los sacerdotes, y el magistrado del Templo, y los saduceos,

2 b eing sore troubled because they taught the people, and proclaimed in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

resentidos de que enseñaran al pueblo, y anunciaran en el Nombre de Jesús la resurrección de los muertos.

3 A nd they laid hands on them, and put them in ward unto the morrow: for it was now eventide.

Y les echaron mano, y los pusieron en la cárcel hasta el día siguiente; porque era ya tarde.

4 B ut many of them that heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

Pero muchos de los que habían oído la palabra, creyeron; y fue el número de los varones como cinco mil.

5 A nd it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers and elders and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem;

¶ Y aconteció al día siguiente, que se juntaron en Jerusalén los príncipes de ellos, y los ancianos, y los escribas;

6 a nd Annas the high priest was there, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest.

y Anás, príncipe de los sacerdotes, y Caifás, y Juan y Alejandro, y todos los que eran del linaje sacerdotal;

7 A nd when they had set them in the midst, they inquired, By what power, or in what name, have ye done this?

y haciéndolos presentar en medio, les preguntaron: ¿Con qué potestad, o en qué nombre, habéis hecho vosotros esto?

8 T hen Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders,

Entonces Pedro, lleno del Espíritu Santo, les dijo: Príncipes del pueblo, y ancianos de Israel:

9 i f we this day are examined concerning a good deed done to an impotent man, by what means this man is made whole;

Pues si somos hoy demandados acerca del beneficio hecho a un hombre enfermo, de qué manera éste haya sido sanado,

10 b e it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even in him doth this man stand here before you whole.

sea notorio a todos vosotros, y a todo el pueblo de Israel, que en el Nombre de Jesús el Cristo, el Nazareno, el que vosotros Colgasteis en un madero, y Dios le resucitó de los muertos, por él este hombre está en vuestra presencia sano.

11 H e is the stone which was set at nought of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner.

Este es la piedra reprobada por vosotros los edificadores, la cual es puesta por cabeza del ángulo.

12 A nd in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.

Y en ningún otro hay salud; porque no hay otro nombre debajo del cielo, dado a los hombres, en que podamos ser salvos.

13 N ow when they beheld the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

Entonces viendo la constancia de Pedro y de Juan, y sabiendo que eran hombres sin letras e ignorantes, se maravillaban; y les conocían que habían estado con Jesús.

14 A nd seeing the man that was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

Y viendo al hombre que había sido sanado, que estaba con ellos, no podían decir nada en contra.

15 B ut when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,

¶ Mas les mandaron que salieran fuera del concilio; y conferían entre sí,

16 s aying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been wrought through them, is manifest to all that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.

diciendo: ¿Qué hemos de hacer a estos hombres? Porque de cierto, señal manifiesta ha sido hecha por ellos, notoria a todos los que moran en Jerusalén, y no lo podemos negar.

17 B ut that it spread no further among the people, let us threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.

Todavía, para que no se divulgue más por el pueblo, amenacémoslos, que no hablen de aquí en adelante a hombre alguno en este Nombre.

18 A nd they called them, and charged them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

Y llamándolos, les intimaron que en ninguna manera hablaran ni enseñaran en el Nombre de Jesús.

19 B ut Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to hearken unto you rather than unto God, judge ye:

Entonces Pedro y Juan, respondiendo, les dijeron: Juzgad si es justo delante de Dios obedecer antes a vosotros que a Dios;

20 f or we cannot but speak the things which we saw and heard.

porque no podemos dejar de decir lo que hemos visto y oído.

21 A nd they, when they had further threatened them, let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people; for all men glorified God for that which was done.

Ellos entonces los despacharon amenazándolos, no hallando ningún modo de castigarlos, por causa del pueblo; porque todos glorificaban a Dios de lo que había sido hecho.

22 F or the man was more than forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was wrought.

Porque el hombre en quien había sido hecho este milagro de sanidad, era de más de cuarenta años.

23 A nd being let go, they came to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said unto them.

¶ Y sueltos, vinieron a los suyos, y contaron todo lo que los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los ancianos les habían dicho.

24 A nd they, when they heard it, lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, O Lord, thou that didst make the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that in them is:

Y ellos, habiéndolo oído, alzaron unánimes la voz a Dios, y dijeron: Señor, tú eres el Dios que hiciste el cielo y la tierra, el mar, y todo lo que en ellos hay;

25 w ho by the Holy Spirit, by the mouth of our father David thy servant, didst say, Why did the Gentiles rage, And the peoples imagine vain things?

que (en el Espíritu Santo) por boca de David (nuestro padre), tu siervo, dijiste: ¿Por qué han bramado los gentiles, y los pueblos han pensado cosas vanas?

26 T he kings of the earth set themselves in array, And the rulers were gathered together, Against the Lord, and against his Anointed:

Asistieron los reyes de la tierra, y los príncipes se juntaron en uno contra el Señor, y contra su Cristo.

27 f or of a truth in this city against thy holy Servant Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together,

Porque verdaderamente se juntaron (en esta ciudad) contra tu santo siervo Jesús, al cual ungiste, Herodes y Poncio Pilato, con los gentiles y los pueblos de Israel,

28 t o do whatsoever thy hand and thy council foreordained to come to pass.

para hacer lo que tu mano y tu consejo habían antes determinado que había de ser hecho.

29 A nd now, Lord, look upon their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants to speak thy word with all boldness,

Y ahora, Señor, mira sus amenazas, y da a tus siervos que con toda confianza hablen tu palabra;

30 w hile thy stretchest forth thy hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of thy holy Servant Jesus.

que extiendas tu mano a que sanidades, y milagros, y prodigios sean hechos por el Nombre de tu santo siervo Jesús.

31 A nd when they had prayed, the place was shaken wherein they were gathered together; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Cuando hubieron orado, el lugar en que estaban congregados tembló; y todos fueron llenos del Espíritu Santo, y hablaron la palabra de Dios con confianza.

32 A nd the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and soul: and not one of them said that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

¶ Y de la multitud de los que habían creído era un corazón y un alma; y ninguno decía ser suyo algo de lo que poseía; mas todas las cosas les eran comunes.

33 A nd with great power gave the apostles their witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

Y los apóstoles daban testimonio de la resurrección del Señor Jesús con gran poder; y gran gracia era sobre todos ellos.

34 F or neither was there among them any that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

Que ningún necesitado había entre ellos; porque todos los que poseían heredades o casas, vendiéndolas, traían el precio de lo vendido,

35 a nd laid them at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto each, according as any one had need.

y lo ponían a los pies de los apóstoles; y era repartido a cada uno de acuerdo a su necesidad.

36 A nd Joseph, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas (which is, being interpreted, Son of exhortation), a Levite, a man of Cyprus by race,

Entonces José, que fue llamado de los apóstoles por sobrenombre, Bernabé, (que es interpretado, Hijo de consolación) levita, natural de Chipre,

37 h aving a field, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles' feet.

como tenía una heredad, la vendió, y trajo el precio, y lo puso a los pies de los apóstoles.
