1 I n the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans,

En el año primero de Darío hijo de Asuero, de la simiente de los medos, el cual fue puesto por rey sobre el reino de los caldeos;

2 i n the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of the years whereof the word of Jehovah came to Jeremiah the prophet, for the accomplishing of the desolations of Jerusalem, even seventy years.

en el año primero de su reinado, yo Daniel miré atentamente en los libros el número de los años, del cual habló el SEÑOR al profeta Jeremías, que había de concluir la asolación de Jerusalén en setenta años.

3 A nd I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.

Y volví mi rostro al Señor Dios, buscándole en oración y ruego, en ayuno, cilicio, y ceniza.

4 A nd I prayed unto Jehovah my God, and made confession, and said, Oh, Lord, the great and dreadful God, who keepeth covenant and lovingkindness with them that love him and keep his commandments,

Y oré al SEÑOR mi Dios, y confesé, y dije: Ahora Señor, Dios grande, digno de ser temido, que guardas el pacto y la misericordia con los que te aman y guardan tus mandamientos;

5 w e have sinned, and have dealt perversely, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even turning aside from thy precepts and from thine ordinances;

hemos pecado, hemos hecho iniquidad, hemos obrado impíamente, y hemos sido rebeldes, y nos hemos apartado de tus mandamientos y de tus juicios.

6 n either have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, that spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.

No hemos escuchado a tus siervos los profetas, que en tu nombre hablaron a nuestros reyes, y a nuestros príncipes, a nuestros padres, y a todo el pueblo de la tierra.

7 O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of face, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.

Tuya es, Señor, la justicia, y nuestra la confusión de rostro, como el día de hoy es a todo hombre de Judá, y a los moradores de Jerusalén, y a todo Israel, a los de cerca y a los de lejos, en todas las tierras adonde los has echado a causa de su rebelión con que contra ti se rebelaron.

8 O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.

Oh SEÑOR, nuestra es la confusión de rostro, de nuestros reyes, de nuestros príncipes, y de nuestros padres; porque contra ti hemos pecado.

9 T o the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness; for we have rebelled against him;

Del SEÑOR nuestro Dios es el tener misericordia, y el perdonar, aunque contra él nos hemos rebelado;

10 n either have we obeyed the voice of Jehovah our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.

y no escuchamos a la voz del SEÑOR nuestro Dios, para andar por sus leyes, las cuales puso él delante de nosotros por mano de sus siervos los profetas.

11 Y ea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even turning aside, that they should not obey thy voice: therefore hath the curse been poured out upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God; for we have sinned against him.

Y todo Israel traspasó tu ley apartándose por no oír tu voz; por lo cual ha caído sobre nosotros la maldición, y el juramento que está escrito en la ley de Moisés, siervo de Dios; porque contra él hemos pecado.

12 A nd he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil; for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.

Y él afirmó su palabra que habló sobre nosotros, y sobre nuestros jueces que nos gobernaron, trayendo sobre nosotros tan grande mal; que nunca fue hecho debajo del cielo como el que fue hecho en Jerusalén.

13 A s it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet have we not entreated the favor of Jehovah our God, that we should turn from our iniquities, and have discernment in thy truth.

Según está escrito en la ley de Moisés, todo este mal vino sobre nosotros; y nunca rogamos a la faz del SEÑOR nuestro Dios, para convertirnos de nuestras iniquidades, y entender tu Verdad.

14 T herefore hath Jehovah watched over the evil, and brought it upon us; for Jehovah our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth, and we have not obeyed his voice.

Y se apresuró el SEÑOR sobre el castigo, y lo trajo sobre nosotros; porque justo es el SEÑOR nuestro Dios en todas sus obras que hizo, porque no escuchamos su voz.

15 A nd now, O Lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.

Ahora pues, Señor Dios nuestro, que sacaste tu pueblo de la tierra de Egipto con mano poderosa, y ganaste para ti Nombre clarísimo, como hasta hoy parece; hemos pecado, impíamente hemos hecho.

16 O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, let thine anger and thy wrath, I pray thee, be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are round about us.

Oh Señor, según toda tu justicia, apartese ahora tu ira y tu furor de sobre tu ciudad Jerusalén, tu santo monte; porque a causa de nuestros pecados, y por la iniquidad de nuestros padres, Jerusalén y todo tu pueblo es dado en vergüenza a todos nuestros alrededores.

17 N ow therefore, O our God, hearken unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord's sake.

Ahora pues, Dios nuestro, oye la oración de tu siervo, y sus ruegos, y haz que tu rostro resplandezca sobre tu santuario asolado, por el Señor.

18 O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousness, but for thy great mercies' sake.

Inclina, oh Dios mío, tu oído, y oye; abre tus ojos, y mira nuestros asolamientos, y la ciudad sobre la cual es llamado tu Nombre; porque no derramamos nuestros ruegos ante tu presencia confiados en nuestras justicias, sino en tus muchas misericordias.

19 O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God, because thy city and thy people are called by thy name.

Oye, Señor. Perdona Señor. Está atento, Señor, y haz; no pongas dilación, por ti mismo, Dios mío; porque tu Nombre es llamado sobre tu ciudad y sobre tu pueblo.

20 A nd while I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before Jehovah my God for the holy mountain of my God;

Aún estaba hablando, orando, y confesando mi pecado y el pecado de mi pueblo Israel, y derramaba mi ruego delante del SEÑOR mi Dios por el monte santo de mi Dios;

21 y ea, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.

aún estaba hablando en oración, y aquel varón Gabriel, al cual había visto en visión al principio, volando con vuelo, me tocó como a la hora del sacrificio de la tarde.

22 A nd he instructed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee wisdom and understanding.

Y me hizo entender, y habló conmigo, y dijo: Daniel, ahora he salido para hacerte entender la declaración.

23 A t the beginning of thy supplications the commandment went forth, and I am come to tell thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision.

Al principio de tus ruegos salió la palabra, y yo he venido para enseñártela, porque tú eres varón de deseos. Entiende, pues, la palabra, y entiende la visión.

24 S eventy weeks are decreed upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy.

Setenta semanas están determinadas sobre tu pueblo y sobre tu Santa Ciudad, para acabar la prevaricación, y concluir el pecado, y reconciliar la iniquidad; y para traer la justicia de los siglos, y sellar la visión y la profecía, y ungir el lugar santísimo.

25 K now therefore and discern, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the anointed one, the prince, shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: it shall be built again, with street and moat, even in troublous times.

Sepas, pues, y entiendas, que desde la salida de la palabra para hacer volver el pueblo y edificar a Jerusalén, hasta el Príncipe Ungido, habrá siete semanas y sesenta y dos semanas, entre tanto se tornará a edificar la plaza y el muro en angustia de tiempos.

26 A nd after the threescore and two weeks shall the anointed one be cut off, and shall have nothing: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and even unto the end shall be war; desolations are determined.

Y después de las sesenta y dos semanas el Ungido, será muerto, y nada tendrá: (y el pueblo príncipe que ha de venir, destruirá a la ciudad y el santuario; cuyo fin será como avenida de aguas; hasta que al fin de la guerra sea talada con asolamiento.)

27 A nd he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease; and upon the wing of abominations shall come one that maketh desolate; and even unto the full end, and that determined, shall wrath be poured out upon the desolate.

En una semana (son ya setenta) confirmará el pacto por muchos, y a la mitad de la semana hará cesar el sacrificio y el presente; y a causa de la multitud de las abominaciones vendrá desolamiento, hasta que perfecto acabamiento se derrame sobre el pueblo abominable.
