1 H addaba Yeftaah oo reer Gilecaad ahaa wuxuu ahaa nin xoog leh, oo wuxuuna ahaa dhillo wiilkeed. Yeftaahna waxaa dhalay Gilecaad.
Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a powerful soldier. But he was the son of a woman who sold the use of her body. Jephthah’s father was Gilead.
2 O o Gilecaad naagtiisiina wiilal bay u dhashay, oo wiilashii naagtiisuna markay koreen ayay Yeftaah iska eryeen, oo waxay ku yidhaahdeen, Reerka aabbeheen adigu nala dhaxli maysid; maxaa yeelay, naag kalaa ku dhashay.
Gilead’s wife gave birth to his sons. And when his wife’s sons grew up, they drove Jephthah away. They told him, “You will not have any share in our father’s house. For you are the son of another woman.”
3 M arkaasuu Yeftaah walaalihiis ka cararay, oo wuxuu degay dalkii Toob: markaasaa waxaa isku soo ururay ciyaalasuuq, oo iyana waxay raaceen Yeftaah.
So Jephthah ran away from his brothers and lived in the land of Tob. Men of no worth gathered around Jephthah and went fighting and stealing with him.
4 O o intii wakhti ah dabadeed ayay reer Cammoon la dirireen reer binu Israa'iil.
The time came when the men of Ammon fought against Israel.
5 O o markii reer Cammoon ay la dirireen reer binu Israa'iil ayaa odayaashii reer Gilecaad Yeftaah ka dooneen dalkii Toob;
When the men of Ammon fought against Israel, the leaders of Gilead went to get Jephthah from the land of Tob.
6 o o waxay Yeftaah ku yidhaahdeen, Kaalay oo madax noo noqo, aynu reer Cammoon la dirirnee.
They said to Jephthah, “Come and be our leader, so we may fight against the men of Ammon.”
7 M arkaasuu Yeftaah odayaashii reer Gilecaad ku yidhi, War sow ima aydnaan nebcayn oo igama aydnaan eryin reerkii aabbahay? Maxaad haatan iigu timaadeen idinkoo cidhiidhi ku jira?
Jephthah said to the leaders of Gilead, “Did you not hate me and drive me from my father’s house? Why have you come to me now when you are in trouble?”
8 O o odayaashii reer Gilecaadna waxay ku yidhaahdeen Yeftaah, War haatan waannu kuu soo noqonnay si aad noo raacdid oo aad ula dirirtid reer Cammoon, oo madax ayaad noo noqonaysaa oo waxaad ugu sarraynaysaa dadka deggan dalka Gilecaad oo dhan.
The leaders of Gilead said to Jephthah, “That is why we have returned to you now. So you may go with us and fight the men of Ammon. You will be the head of all the people of Gilead.”
9 M arkaasuu Yeftaah ku yidhi odayaashii reer Gilecaad, Haddaad mar kale dalkii iigu celisaan inaan reer Cammoon la diriro, oo Rabbigu iyaga gacanta ii soo geliyo, de markaas madax ma idiin noqonayaa?
Jephthah said to the leaders of Gilead, “If you bring me home again to fight the men of Ammon and the Lord gives them to me, will I become your head?”
10 O o odayaashii reer Gilecaadna waxay Yeftaah ku yidhaahdeen, Taas Rabbigu ha ka noqdo marag inoo dhexaya; oo hubaal waxaannu yeelaynaa siduu eraygaagu yahay.
The leaders of Gilead said to Jephthah, “The Lord is listening to what we say. For sure we will do as you have said.”
11 M arkaasuu Yeftaah raacay odayaashii reer Gilecaad oo dadkiina waxay isagii ka dhigteen madax iyo ugaas iyaga ka sarreeya; oo Yeftaah wuxuu hadalkiisii oo dhan Rabbiga ugu sheegay Misfaah.
So Jephthah went with the leaders of Gilead. And the people made him head and leader over them. Jephthah spoke all his words before the Lord at Mizpah.
12 M arkaasuu Yeftaah wargeeyayaal u diray boqorkii reer Cammoon, oo wuxuu ku yidhi, War maxaa inaga dhexeeya, oo maxaad iigu timid oo aad dalkayga iigu la diriraysaa?
Then Jephthah sent men to the king of the people of Ammon, saying, “What do you have against me? Why have you come to fight against my land?”
13 M arkaasuu boqorkii reer Cammoon ku yidhi wargeeyayaashii Yeftaah ka yimid, Maxaa yeelay, reer binu Israa'iil markii ay ka yimaadeen Masar, waxay iga dhaceen dalkaygii ilaa Arnoon iyo tan iyo xataa Yabboq, iyo ilaa Urdun; haddaba dalalkaas oo dhan nabad iigu soo celi.
The king of the people of Ammon said to these men of Jephthah, “Because Israel took away my land when they came from Egypt. They took my land from the Arnon as far as the Jabbok and the Jordan. So I ask you to return this land to me in peace.”
14 O o Yeftaah haddana wargeeyayaal buu u diray boqorkii reer Cammoon;
But Jephthah sent men to the king of the people of Ammon again,
15 o o wuxuu ku yidhi, Yeftaah wuxuu leeyahay, Reer binu Israa'iil ma dhicin dalkii reer Moo'aab iyo dalkii reer Cammoon toona:
saying, “Jephthah says, ‘Israel did not take away the land of Moab or the land of the people of Ammon.
16 l aakiinse markii ay ka yimaadeen Masar, reer binu Israa'iil waxay soo mareen cidlada ilaa xagga Badda Cas, oo dabadeedna waxay yimaadeen Qaadeesh;
Israel came out of Egypt, went through the desert to the Red Sea, and came to Kadesh.
17 m arkaasaa reer binu Israa'iil waxay wargeeyayaal u direen boqorkii reer Edom, oo waxay ku yidhaahdeen, Waannu ku baryaynaaye, aannu dalkaaga dhex marno; laakiinse boqorkii reer Edom ma uu dhegaysan. Sidaas oo kalena waxay cid u direen boqorkii reer Moo'aab; laakiinse isna wuu diiday; oo reer binu Israa'iilna waxay iska joogeen Qaadeesh.
Then Israel sent men to the king of Edom, saying, “We ask you to let us pass through your land.” But the king of Edom would not listen. They asked the king of Moab also. But he would not let them pass through. So Israel stayed at Kadesh.
18 M arkaasay dhex mareen cidladii, oo waxay hareereeyeen dalkii reer Edom, iyo dalkii reer Moo'aab, oo waxay yimaadeen geesta bari oo dalka reer Moo'aab, oo waxay degeen Arnoon geesteeda kale; laakiinse soohdintii reer Moo'aab sooma ay gelin, waayo, Arnoon waxay ahayd soohdintii dalka reer Moo'aab.
’Then Israel went through the desert and around the lands of Edom and Moab. They came to the east side of the land of Moab. There they set up their tents on the other side of the Arnon. But they did not go into the land of Moab. For the Arnon flowed along the side of Moab.
19 M arkaasay reer binu Israa'iil wargeeyayaal u direen boqorkii reer Amor oo Siixon ahaa oo boqor u ahaa Xeshboon; oo reer binu Israa'iil waxay ku yidhaahdeen Siixon, Waannu ku baryaynaaye, aannu dalkaaga dhex marno si aannu ugu gudubno meeshayadii.
Israel sent men to Sihon king of the Amorites, the king of Heshbon, saying, “We ask you to let us pass through your land to our place.”
20 L aakiinse Siixon ma aaminin reer binu Israa'iil inay dhex maraan dalkiisii; laakiinse Siixon wuxuu soo urursaday dadkiisii oo dhan, oo intuu Yahas soo degay ayuu reer binu Israa'iil la diriray.
But Sihon did not trust Israel. He would not let them pass through his land. Sihon gathered all his people together. They set up their tents in Jahaz, and fought with Israel.
21 M arkaasuu Rabbiga ah Ilaaha reer binu Israa'iil Siixon iyo dadkiisii oo dhanba ku riday gacantii reer binu Israa'iil oo iyana way laayeen iyagii; oo sidaasay reer binu Israa'iil ku hantiyeen dalkii reer Amor oo dhan iyo dadkii waddankaasba.
The Lord, the God of Israel, gave Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel. They won the war against Sihon. So Israel took all the land of the Amorites, the people of that country.
22 O o waxay hantiyeen dalkii reer Amor oo dhan tan iyo Arnoon iyo ilaa Yabboq, iyo tan iyo cidlada iyo ilaa Webi Urdun.
They took all the land of the Amorites, from the Arnon as far as the Jabbok, and from the desert as far as the Jordan.
23 H addaba haatan inta Rabbiga ah Ilaaha reer binu Israa'iil reer Amor dalka kaga qaaday dadkiisa reer binu Israa'iil hortooda, miyaad adigu qabsanaysaa iyaga?
’So the Lord, the God of Israel, drove the Amorites away from His people Israel. Now are you to take the land for your own?
24 S ow lahaan maysid wuxuu ilaahaaga Kemoosh ahu ku siiyo inaad lahaatid? Taas aawadeed kuwa Rabbiga Ilaahayaga ahu hortayada ka eryo waannu qabsan doonnaa.
Do you not keep for your own what your god Chemosh gives you? We will keep the land of the people the Lord our God drove away for us.
25 H addaba miyaad ka wanaagsan tahay boqorkii reer Moo'aab oo ahaa Baalaaq ina Sifoor? Miyuu weligiis la diriray reer binu Israa'iil, oo miyuu weligiis la dagaallamay reer binu Israa'iil?
Are you any better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? Did he ever fight with Israel? Did he ever go to war against them?
26 O o intii reer binu Israa'iil ay degganaayeen Xeshboon iyo magaalooyinkeedii, iyo Carooceer iyo magaalooyinkeedii, iyo magaalooyinkii Arnoon dhinaceeda ku yiil oo dhan, intaasu waxay ahayd saddex boqol oo sannadood ee maxaad wakhtigaas u soo qabsan weydeen?
While Israel lived in Heshbon and its towns and Aroer and its towns and in all the cities beside the Arnon for 300 years, why did you not take them again during that time?
27 S idaas daraaddeed anigu kuguma aan dembaabin, laakiinse adigu qalad baad igu samaynaysaa inaad ila dirirto. Rabbiga xaakinka ahu maanta ha noqdo xaakin u dhexeeya reer binu Israa'iil iyo reer Cammoon.
I have not sinned against you. But you are doing wrong to me by making war against me. The Lord is the judge. May He decide today between the people of Israel and the people of Ammon.’”
28 H abase yeeshee, boqorkii reer Cammoon ma uu dhegaysan erayadii Yeftaah u soo diray.
But the king of the people of Ammon would not listen to what Jephthah said
29 M arkaasaa Ruuxii Rabbigu wuxuu ku soo degay Yeftaah, oo wuxuu soo dhaafay reer Gilecaad iyo reer Manaseh, oo wuxuu soo dhaafay Misfaah tii reer Gilecaad, oo markaasuu Misfaah tii reer Gilecaadna wuxuu uga sii gudbay xagga reer Cammoon.
The Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah. So he passed through Gilead and Manasseh and through Mizpah of Gilead. He went from Mizpah of Gilead to the people of Ammon.
30 M arkaasaa Yeftaah wuxuu Rabbiga u nidray nidar, oo wuxuu yidhi, Hubaal haddaad reer Cammoon gacantayda soo geliso,
Jephthah made a promise to the Lord and said, “You give the people of Ammon into my hand.
31 m arkaasaa wax alla wixii irdaha gurigayga ka soo baxo inuu ila kulmo markaan reer Cammoon nabad kaga soo noqdo, waxaa lahaan doona Rabbiga, oo waxaan u bixin doonaa allabari la gubo.
And I will give to the Lord whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me when I return in peace from the people of Ammon. I will give it to the Lord as a burnt gift.”
32 M arkaasuu Yeftaah u gudbay xagga reer Cammoon inuu la dagaallamo, oo Rabbiguna gacantiisuu soo geliyey.
Then Jephthah crossed over to fight against the people of Ammon. And the Lord gave them into his hand.
33 O o wuxuu iyagii laayay ilaa Carooceer iyo tan iyo ilaa aad Minniid timaadid, oo intaasu waxay ahaayeen labaatan magaalo, oo ilaa Aabeel Keraamiimna wuxuu ku laayay dad badan. Sidaasaa reer Cammoon loogu hoosaysiiyey reer binu Israa'iil hortooda.
He killed many of them from Aroer to Minnith, through twenty cities, as far as Abelkeramin. The people of Ammon were destroyed in front of the people of Israel. Jephthah’s Daughter
34 M arkaasuu Yeftaah yimid Misfaah xagga gurigiisii, oo bal eeg, gabadhiisii baa ka soo baxday inay la kulanto, iyadoo daf tumaysa oo cayaaraysa. Madi bay u ahayd oo iyada mooyaane wiil iyo gabadh midna ma uu lahayn.
Then Jephthah came to his home at Mizpah. His daughter came out to meet him with music and dancing. She was his one and only child. He had no other sons or daughters.
35 O o markuu arkay iyadii ayuu dharkiisii iska jeexjeexay, oo wuxuu yidhi, Hoogay gabadhaydiiyey! Hoos baad ii dhigtay, oo waxaad tahay kuwa i dhiba middood; waayo, Rabbigaan afkayga u furay, oo dibna uma aan noqon karo.
When he saw her, he tore his clothes and said, “It is bad, my daughter! You have made me very sad. You have brought much trouble to me. For I have made a promise to the Lord, and I must keep it.”
36 O o waxay ku tidhi, Aabbahayow, Rabbigaad afkaaga u furtay, haddaba igu samee wixii afkaaga ka soo baxay, waayo, Rabbigu waa kaaga aarguday cadaawayaashaadii, kuwaasoo ahaa reer Cammoon.
She said to him, “My father, you have made a promise to the Lord. Do to me what you have promised you would do. Because the Lord has punished the people of Ammon, who fought against you.
37 O o waxay aabbaheed ku tidhi, Bal waxan ha la ii sameeyo, intii laba bilood ah i daa, oo intaan buuraha tago, aniga iyo saaxiibadahay, aan bikradnimadayda u baroortee.
But do this for me. Let me alone for two months. So I and my friends may go to the mountains and cry because I will never have a man.”
38 M arkaasuu yidhi, Tag. Oo intii laba bilood ah ayuu iska diray; oo iyadii iyo saaxiibadaheedba way tageen, oo bikradnimadeedii ayay buuraha ugu soo baroorteen.
Jephthah said, “Go.” He sent her away for two months with her friends. And they cried on the mountains because she would never have a man.
39 O o labadii bilood dabadeed ayay ku soo noqotay aabbaheed, oo isna wuxuu ku sameeyey sidii uu nidarka ku galay; oo iyana nin ma ay aqoon. Oo reer binu Israa'iilna waxaa caado u ahaa,
She returned to her father after two months. And he did what he promised the Lord and she died without having a man. So it became the way in Israel
40 i nay gabdhaha reer binu Israa'iil sannad walba afar maalmood baxaan oo u baroortaan gabadhii Yeftaah kii reer Gilecaad.
that the daughters of Israel went to have sorrow for the daughter of Jephthah for four days each year.
