1 M arkaasaa wadaadkii sare wuxuu yidhi, Waxanu ma saasaa?
The head religious leader asked Stephen, “Are these things true?”
2 M arkaasuu ku yidhi, Walaalo iyo aabbayaalow, dhegaysta, Ilaaha Ammaantu wuxuu u muuqday awoweheen Ibraahim markuu Mesobotamiya joogay intuusan Haaraan degin,
Stephen said, “My brothers and fathers, listen to me. The great God showed Himself to our early father Abraham while he lived in the country of Mesopotamia. This was before he moved to the country of Haran.
3 o o wuxuu ku yidhi, Ka soo kac waddankaaga iyo dadkaaga, oo kaalay dalka aan ku tusi doono.
God said to him, ‘Leave your family and this land where you were born. Go to a land that I will show you.’
4 M arkaasuu ka soo kacay dalkii reer Kaldayiin oo wuxuu soo degay Haaraan; oo markuu aabbihiis dhintay ayaa Ilaah meeshaas isaga ka soo wareejiyey oo keenay dalkan aad haatan deggan tihiin,
He went from the land of the Chaldeans and lived in Haran. After his father died, he came to this country where you now live.
5 o o dhaxalna kama uu siin, xataa meel uu cagtiisa dhigo; laakiin wuxuu isaga ka ballanqaaday inuu dalka mulki u siiyo isaga iyo farcankiisa ka dambeeyaba, in kastoo uusan dhal lahayn.
God did not give him any land to own, not even enough to put his feet on. But He promised that the land would be his and his children’s after him. At that time he had no children.
6 I laah sidan buu u hadlay, in farcankiisu degi doono dal shisheeye, oo iyaga la addoonsan doono, oo afar boqol oo sannadood la dhibi doono.
This is what God said, ‘Your children’s children will be living in a strange land. They will live there 400 years. They will be made to work without pay and will suffer many hard things.
7 I laah wuxuu yidhi, Quruunta iyagu ay u addoonsamaan ayaan xukumi doonaa; markaas dabadeed ayay ka soo bixi doonaan oo meeshan iigu adeegi doonaan.
I will say to that nation that it is guilty for holding them and making them work without pay. After that they will go free. They will leave that country and worship Me in this place.’
8 O o wuxuu isaga siiyey axdiga gudniinta; haddaba Ibraahim wuxuu dhalay Isxaaq, oo maalintii siddeedaad ayuu guday isaga; Isxaaqna wuxuu dhalay Yacquub; Yacquubna wuxuu dhalay laba-iyo-tobankii aynu ka soo farcannay.
“He made a promise with Abraham. It was kept by a religious act of becoming a Jew. Abraham had a son, Isaac. On the eighth day Abraham took Isaac and had this religious act done to him. Isaac was the father of Jacob. Jacob was the father of our twelve early fathers.
9 K uwii aan ka soo farcannayna intay Yuusuf ka masayreen ayay waxay ka iibiyeen Masar;
“The sons of Jacob sold Joseph to people from the country of Egypt because they were jealous of him. But God was with Joseph.
10 l aakiin Ilaah baa isaga la jiray oo dhibaatadiisii oo dhan ka samatabbixiyey, oo axsaan iyo xigmad ka siiyey Fircoon, oo ahaa boqorkii Masar; markaasuu isaguna wuxuu isagii taliye uga dhigay Masar iyo reerkiisii oo dhan.
He helped him in all his troubles. He gave him wisdom and favor with Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. This king made Joseph leader over Egypt and over all the king’s house.
11 H addaba waxaa Masar iyo Kancaan oo dhan ka wada dhacay abaar iyo dhibaato weyn; awowayaasheenna dhuuni bay ka waayeen.
“The time came when there was no food to eat in all the land of Egypt and Canaan. The people suffered much. Our early fathers were not able to get food.
12 L aakiin markii Yacquub maqlay in Masar sarreen jiro, ayuu markii ugu horraysay awowayaasheen diray.
Then Jacob heard there was food in Egypt. He sent our early fathers there the first time.
13 O o markii labaad waxaa walaalihiis la aqoonsiiyey Yuusuf; markaasaa Fircoon wuxuu gartay Yuusuf qoladiisii.
“The second time they went to the country of Egypt, Joseph made himself known to his brothers. The family of Joseph became known to Pharaoh.
14 M arkaasaa Yuusuf cid u diray oo u yeedhay aabbihiis Yacquub iyo dadkiisii oo dhan oo ahaa shan iyo toddobaatan qof.
Joseph asked his father Jacob and all his family to come. There were seventy-five people in the family.
15 M arkaasaa Yacquub Masar tegey. Isaga qudhiisii waa dhintay iyo awowayaasheenba;
Jacob moved down to Egypt and died there. Our early fathers died there also.
16 w axaana la geeyey Shekem oo la dhigay xabaashii Ibraahim qiimaha lacagta ah kaga iibsaday wiilashii Xamoor oo Shekem joogay.
They were brought back to the city of Shechem where they were buried. Abraham paid money for the grave from the sons of Hamor in Shechem. Stephen Speaks about the God of Moses
17 L aakiin markuu soo dhowaaday wakhtigii ballankii Ilaah kula ballamay Ibraahim, ayay dadkii ku soo kordheen oo ku bateen Masar,
“The promise God had given Abraham was about to happen. At this time many more of our people were in the country of Egypt.
18 t an iyo intii boqor kale oo aan Yuusuf oqooni Masar ka kacay.
Then another man became king in Egypt. He was a king who did not know Joseph.
19 I saguna waa khiyaaneeyey dadkeenna, awowayaasheenna wuu xumeeyey, oo wuxuuna ku qasbay inay ilmahoodii yaryaraa iska tuuraan si ayan u sii noolaan.
He was hard on our people and nation. He worked against our early fathers. He made them put their babies outside so they would die.
20 M uusena wakhtigaasuu dhashay, oo wuxuu ahaa wax qurux badan; oo saddex bilood ayaa gurigii aabbihiis lagu hayay;
“At that time Moses was born. He was beautiful in God’s sight. He was fed in his father’s house for three months.
21 m arkii la tuurayna, Fircoon gabadhiisii ayaa qaadatay oo sidii wiilkeedii oo kale u korsatay.
Then he was put outside. Pharaoh’s daughter took him and cared for him as her own son.
22 M uusena waxaa la baray xigmaddii Masriyiinta oo dhan; hadalladiisa iyo falimihiisana xoog buu ku lahaa.
Moses was taught in all the wisdom of the Egyptians. He became a powerful man in words and in the things he did.
23 L aakiin markuu gaadhay afartan sannadood oo buuxa ayaa waxaa qalbigiisa gashay inuu walaalihiis oo reer binu Israa'iil ahaa soo booqdo.
When he was forty years old, he thought he should visit his brothers, the Jews.
24 O o markuu arkay midkood oo lagu gardarroonayo, ayuu ka celiyey, oo intuu kii la dulmayay uu aarguday, ayuu Masrigii dilay;
He saw one of the Jews being hurt. Moses helped the Jew and killed the man from Egypt.
25 o o wuxuu u malaynayay in walaalihiis garteen sida Ilaah gacantiisa iyaga ugu samatabbixinayo, laakiin ma ay garan.
He thought his people would understand. He thought they knew God would let them go free by his help. But the people did not understand.
26 O o maalintii ku xigtay ayuu iyagoo diriraya u yimi, oo wuxuu damcay inuu heshiisiiyo, markaasuu yidhi, Niman yahow, walaalaad tihiine; maxaad isu dulmaysaan?
“The next day Moses came to some Jews who were fighting. He tried to get them to stop. Moses said to the Jews, ‘Sirs, you are brothers. Why do you hurt each other?’
27 L aakiin kii deriskiisii dulmayay, ayaa isaga iska riixay oo ku yidhi, Yaa nooga kaa dhigay taliye iyo xaakin?
One was beating his neighbor. He pushed Moses away and said, ‘Who made you a leader over us? Who said you could say who is guilty?
28 M a waxaad doonaysaa inaad ii dishid sidaad Masrigii shaalay u dishay?
Do you want to kill me as you killed the man from Egypt yesterday?’
29 M arkaasaa Muuse hadalkaas aawadiis cararay, oo sidii ajanabi buu dalka Midyaan u degganaa, meeshaasna laba wiil buu ku dhalay.
When Moses heard that, he went as fast as he could to the country of Midian where he was a stranger. While he was there, he became the father of two sons.
30 M arkii afartan sannadood dhammaatay dabadeed ayaa waxaa isagii Buur Siinay cidladeedii uga muuqatay malaa'ig ku dhex jirta geed dab ka ololayo.
Forty years passed and Moses was near Mount Sinai where no people live. There he saw an angel in the fire of a burning bush.
31 O o markii Muuse arkay ayuu wuxuu arkay la yaabay, oo intuu u soo dhowaanayay inuu arko, ayaa waxaa u yimid codkii Rabbiga oo leh,
He was surprised and wondered when he saw it. He went up close to see it better. Then he heard the voice of the Lord speak to him.
32 A nigu waxaan ahay Ilaaha awowayaashaa, Ilaaha Ibraahim iyo Ilaaha Isxaaq iyo Ilaaha Yacquub. Markaasaa Muuse gariiray oo ku dhici waayay inuu eego.
‘I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob.’ Moses shook! He was so afraid he did not look at the bush.
33 M arkaasaa Rabbigu isaga ku yidhi, Kabaha cagahaaga ka furfur; maxaa yeelay, meesha aad ku taagan tahay waa dhul quduus ah.
“Then the Lord said to him, ‘Take your shoes off your feet! The place where you are standing is holy ground.
34 D adkayga Masar jooga rafaadkooda waan arkay, taahoodana waan maqlay, oo waxaan u imid inaan samatabbixiyo; haddaba kaalay, Masar baan kuu diri doonaaye.
I have seen My people suffer in the country of Egypt and I have heard their cries. I have come down to let them go free. So come now, I will send you back to Egypt.’
35 M uusahakan ay diideen oo ku yidhaahdeen, Yaa kaa dhigay taliye iyo xaakin? Isagaa Ilaah ugu soo diray gacanta malaa'igtii geedka uga soo muuqatay inuu ahaado taliye iyo samatabbixiye.
“The people had put Moses aside. They said, ‘Who made you a leader over us? Who said you are the one to say what is right or wrong?’ But God made this man a leader. Moses was the one who brought them out of the country of Egypt. This was done by the help of the angel who was in the burning bush.
36 K anaa iyaga Masar ka soo saaray, oo yaabab iyo calaamooyin ku sameeyey Masar, iyo Badda Cas, iyo cidlada afartan sannadood.
This man led them. He did powerful works in Egypt and at the Red Sea. For forty years he led them in the desert.
37 K anu waa Muusihii ku yidhi reer binu Israa'iil, Ilaah wuxuu walaalihiin idiinka dhex kicin doonaa nebi sidayda oo kale.
“Moses said to the Jews, ‘God will give you one who speaks for Him like me from among your brothers.’
38 K anu waa kii ku dhex jiray kiniisaddii cidlada oo la jiray malaa'igtii isaga kala hadashay Buur Siinay iyo awowayaasheen, kii la siiyey hadallada nool inuu ina siiyo.
This is the man who was with the Jewish nation in the desert. The angel talked to him on Mount Sinai. Moses told it to our early fathers. He also received the living Words of God to give to us.
39 I saga awowayaasheen ma ay doonaynin inay addeecaan, laakiin intay iska riixeen ayay qalbigooda geliyeen inay Masar dib ugu jeestaan,
“Our early fathers would not listen to him. They did not obey him. In their hearts they wanted to go back to the country of Egypt.
40 o o waxay Haaruun ku yidhaahdeen, Inoo samee ilaahyo ina hor socda; maxaa yeelay, Muusihii inaga soo kaxeeyey dhulka Masar garan mayno waxa ku dhacay.
They said to Aaron, ‘Make us gods to go before us. We do not know what has happened to this Moses who led us out of Egypt.’
41 M arkaasay waxay wakhtigaas sameeyeen weyl, oo sanamkii waxay u keeneen allabari, oo waxay ku farxeen shuqulkii gacmahoodu sameeyeen.
“In those days they made a calf of gold. They put gifts down in front of their god in worship. They were happy with what they had made with their hands.
42 L aakiin Ilaah baa ka jeestay, oo wuxuu faraha uga qaaday inay u adeegaan guutada samada; sida ay ugu qoran tahay kitaabka nebiyada, Bal reer binu Israa'iilow, afartankii sannadood oo aad cidlada joogteen, Ma anigaad i siiseen xoolo qalan iyo allabaryo?
But God turned from them and let them worship the stars of heaven. This is written in the book of the early preachers, ‘Nation of Jews, was it to Me you gave gifts of sheep and cattle on the altar for forty years in the desert?
43 W eliba waxaad qaadateen taambuuggii Molokh Iyo xiddigtii ilaaha Remfan, Oo ah waxyaalihii aad u samaysateen inaad caabuddaan. Haddaba waxaan idiin kaxayn doonaa Baabuloon shishadeeda.
No, you set up the tent to worship the god of Molock and the star of your god Rompha. You made gods to worship them. I will carry you away to the other side of the country of Babylon.’ The Place of Worship and the House of God
44 A wowayaasheen waxay cidlada ku hayeen taambuuggii maragga, sidii kii Muuse la hadlay ugu amray isaga inuu u sameeyo sidii qaabkii uu arkay.
“Our early fathers had the tent to worship in. They used it in the desert. God told Moses to make it like the plan which he had seen.
45 K aas ayaa awowayaasheen markoodii la soo qaadeen Yashuuca markay galeen oo qaateen dhulkii quruumihii Ilaah awowayaasheen hortooda ku eryay, ilaa waagii Daa'uud.
This was received by our early fathers. They brought it here when they won the wars with the people who were not Jews. It was when Joshua was our leader. God made those people leave as our early fathers took the land. The tent was here until the time of David.
46 D aa'uudna Ilaah hortiis ayuu wanaag ka helay, oo wuxuu weyddiistay inuu Ilaahii Yacquub u helo meel uu dego.
David pleased God and wanted to build a house for worship for the God of Jacob.
47 L aakiinse Sulaymaan baa guri u dhisay.
But Solomon was the one who built the house of God for Him.
48 H ase ahaatee Kan ugu sarreeya ma dego guryo gacmo lagu sameeyo; sida nebigu leeyahay,
But the Most High does not live in buildings made by hands. The early preacher said,
49 S amadu waa carshigayga, Dhulkuna waa meeshaan cagaha saarto, Rabbigu wuxuu leeyahay, Guri caynmaad ii dhisi doontaan? Ama maxay tahay meeshaan ku nastaa?
’Heaven is the place where I sit and the earth is the place where I rest My feet. What house will you build Me?’ says the Lord. ‘Or what is My place of rest?
50 M iyaan gacantaydu samayn waxyaalahan oo dhan?
Did not My hands make all these things?’ The Jews Are Hurt
51 I dinkan madaxa adag oo aan qalbiga iyo dhegaha laga gudinow, weligiinba Ruuxa Quduuska ah waad hor joogsataan. Sidii awowayaashiin yeeli jireen oo kale ayaad idinna yeeshaan.
“You have hard hearts and ears that will not listen to me! You are always working against the Holy Spirit. Your early fathers did. You do too.
52 B al nebiyada kee baan awowayaashiin silcin? Xataa iyagu waxay dileen kuwii hore u sheegay imaatinka Kan xaqa ah; kan idinku aad haatan gacangeliseen oo disheen.
Which of the early preachers was not beaten and hurt by your early fathers? They killed those who told of the coming of the One Right with God. Now you have handed Him over and killed Him.
53 W axaad sharciga u hesheen sidii wax malaa'igahu hagaajiyeen, laakiinse ma aydnaan xajin. Dhimashadii Istefanos
You had the Law given to you by angels. Yet you have not kept it.” Stephen Is Killed
54 H addaba markay waxyaalahaas maqleen way ka xanaaqeen oo u ilka jirriqsadeen isaga.
The Jews and religious leaders listened to Stephen. Then they became angry and began to grind their teeth at him.
55 L aakiin isagoo Ruuxa Quduuska ahu ka buuxo ayuu samada aad u fiiriyey, oo wuxuu arkay ammaanta Ilaah iyo Ciise oo midigta Ilaah taagan,
He was filled with the Holy Spirit. As he looked up to heaven, he saw the shining-greatness of God and Jesus standing at the right side of God.
56 o o wuxuu yidhi, Bal eega, waxaan arkayaa samooyinkii oo la furay iyo Wiilkii Aadanaha oo midigta Ilaah taagan.
He said, “See! I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right side of God!”
57 L aakiin markaasay cod weyn ku qayliyeen oo dhegaha furaysteen, oo iyagoo isku wada qalbi ah ku yaaceen isagii.
They cried out with loud voices. They put their hands over their ears and they all pushed on him.
58 M arkaasay intay magaalada ka soo saareen dhagxiyeen; kuwii maragga ahaana dharkoodii waxay ag dhigteen nin dhallinyaro ah oo la odhan jiray Sawlos.
Then they took him out of the city and threw stones at him. The men who were throwing the stones laid their coats down in front of a young man named Saul.
59 M arkaasay dhagxiyeen Istefanos oo Rabbiga baryaya oo ku leh, Rabbi Ciisow, ruuxayga qaado.
While they threw stones at Stephen, he prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”
60 M arkaasuu jilba joogsaday oo cod weyn ku qayliyey oo ku yidhi, Rabbiyow, dembigan dushooda ha ka dhigin. Oo markuu sidaas yidhi, ayuu dhintay.
After that he fell on his knees and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he died.
