1 Y LUEGO que el muro fué edificado, y asenté las puertas, y fueron señalados porteros y cantores y Levitas,

¶ Now it came to pass, when the wall was built and I had set up the doors and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed,

2 M andé á mi hermano Hanani, y á Hananías, príncipe del palacio de Jerusalem, (porque era éste, como varón de verdad y temeroso de Dios, sobre muchos;)

that I commanded my brother Hanani, and Hananiah, the prince of the palace in Jerusalem (for he was as a man of truth and feared God above many);

3 Y díjeles: No se abran las puertas de Jerusalem hasta que caliente el sol: y aun ellos presentes, cierren las puertas, y atrancad. Y señalé guardas de los moradores de Jerusalem, cada cual en su guardia, y cada uno delante de su casa.

and I said unto them, Do not let the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun is hot and even with the guards present, let them shut the doors and bar them. And appoint guards of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, each one in his watch and each one to be in front of his house.

4 Y la ciudad era espaciosa y grande, pero poco pueblo dentro de ella, y no había casas reedificadas.

Now the city was large and great, but there were few people in it, and the houses were not rebuilt.

5 Y puso Dios en mi corazón que juntase los principales, y los magistrados, y el pueblo, para que fuesen empadronados por el orden de sus linajes: y hallé el libro de la genealogía de los que habían subido antes, y encontré en él escrito:

¶ And my God put it into my heart to gather together the principals and the rulers and the people, that they might be reckoned by genealogy. And I found the register of the genealogy of those who had come up before and found written therein:

6 E stos son los hijos de la provincia que subieron de la cautividad, de la transmigración que hizo pasar Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, y que volvieron á Jerusalem y á Judá cada uno á su ciudad;

These are the sons of the province, that came up out of the captivity, of those that had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, had carried away and returned to Jerusalem and to Judah, each one unto his city,

7 L os cuales vinieron con Zorobabel, Jesuá, Nehemías, Azarías, Raamías, Nahamani, Mardochêo, Bilsán, Misperet, Bigvai, Nehum, Baana. La cuenta de los varones del pueblo de Israel:

who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, and Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:

8 L os hijos de Paros, dos mil ciento setenta y dos;

The sons of Parosh, two thousand one hundred and seventy-two.

9 L os hijos de Sephatías, trescientos setenta y dos;

The sons of Shephatiah, three hundred and seventy-two.

10 L os hijos de Ara, seiscientos cincuenta y dos;

The sons of Arah, six hundred and fifty-two.

11 L os hijos de Pahath-moab, de los hijos de Jesuá y de Joab, dos mil ochocientos dieciocho;

The sons of Pahathmoab, of the sons of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand eight hundred and eighteen.

12 L os hijos de Elam, mil doscientos cincuenta y cuatro;

The sons of Elam, one thousand two hundred and fifty-four.

13 L os hijos de Zattu, ochocientos cuarenta y cinco;

The sons of Zattu, eight hundred and forty-five.

14 L os hijos de Zachâi, setecientos y sesenta;

The sons of Zaccai, seven hundred and sixty.

The men of Michmas, one hundred and twenty-two.

32 L os varones de Beth-el y de Ai, ciento veintitrés;

The men of Bethel and Ai, one hundred and twenty-three.

33 L os varones de la otra Nebo, cincuenta y dos;

The men of the other Nebo, fifty-two.

34 L os hijos de la otra Elam, mil doscientos cincuenta y cuatro;

The sons of the other Elam, one thousand two hundred and fifty-four.

58 L os hijos de Jahala, los hijos de Darcón, los hijos de Giddel,

the sons of Jaala, the sons of Darkon, the sons of Giddel,

59 L os hijos de Sephatías, los hijos de Hattil, los hijos de Pochêreth-hassebaim, los hijos de Amón.

the sons of Shephatiah, the sons of Hattil, the sons of Pochereth of Zebaim, the sons of Amon.

60 T odos los Nethineos, é hijos de los siervos de Salomón, trescientos noventa y dos.

All the Nethinims, and the sons of Solomon’s slaves, were three hundred and ninety-two.

61 Y estos son los que subieron de Tel-melah, Tel-harsa, Chêrub, Addón, é Immer, los cuales no pudieron mostrar la casa de sus padres, ni su linaje, si eran de Israel:

And these were they which came up also from Telmelah, Telharesha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer; but they could not show their father’s house, nor their seed, whether they were of Israel.

62 L os hijos de Delaía, los hijos de Tobías, los hijos de Necoda, seiscientos cuarenta y dos.

The sons of Delaiah, the sons of Tobiah, the sons of Nekoda, six hundred and forty-two.

63 Y de los sacerdotes: los hijos de Habaías, los hijos de Cos, los hijos de Barzillai, el cual tomó mujer de las hijas de Barzillai Galaadita, y se llamó del nombre de ellas.

And of the priests: the sons of Habaiah, the sons of Koz, the sons of Barzillai, who took one of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite to wife, and was called after their name.

64 E stos buscaron su registro de genealogías, y no se halló; y fueron echados del sacerdocio.

These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but it was not found; therefore, were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.

65 Y díjoles el Tirsatha que no comiesen de las cosas más santas, hasta que hubiese sacerdote con Urim y Thummim.

And the Tirshatha said unto them that they should not eat of the most holy things until there stood up a priest with Urim and Thummim.

66 L a congregación toda junta era de cuarenta y dos mil trescientos y sesenta,

The whole congregation united as one man was forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty,

67 S in sus siervos y siervas, que eran siete mil trescientos treinta y siete; y entre ellos había doscientos cuarenta y cinco cantores y cantoras.

not counting their menslaves and their maidslaves, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred and thirty-seven; and they had two hundred and forty-five men and women singers.

68 S us caballos, setecientos treinta y seis; sus mulos, doscientos cuarenta y cinco;

Their horses, seven hundred and thirty-six; their mules, two hundred and forty-five:

69 C amellos, cuatrocientos treinta y cinco; asnos, seis mil setecientos y veinte.

Their camels, four hundred and thirty-five; their asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

70 Y algunos de los príncipes de las familias dieron para la obra. El Tirsatha dió para el tesoro mil dracmas de oro, cincuenta tazones, y quinientas treinta vestiduras sacerdotales.

And some of the princes of the families gave unto the work. The Tirshatha gave for the treasure one thousand drams of gold, fifty basins, and five hundred and thirty priests’ garments.

71 Y de los príncipes de las familias dieron para el tesoro de la obra, veinte mil dracmas de oro, y dos mil y doscientas libras de plata.

And the princes of the families gave for the treasure of the work twenty thousand drams of gold and two thousand two hundred pounds of silver.

72 Y lo que dió el resto del pueblo fué veinte mil dracmas de oro, y dos mil libras de plata, y sesenta y siete vestiduras sacerdotales.

And that which the rest of the people gave was twenty thousand drams of gold and two thousand pounds of silver and sixty-seven priests’ garments.

73 Y habitaron los sacerdotes y los Levitas, y los porteros, y los cantores, y los del pueblo, y los Nethineos, y todo Israel, en sus ciudades. Y venido el mes séptimo, los hijos de Israel estaban en sus ciudades.

So the priests and the Levites and the porters and the singers and those of the people and the Nethinims and all Israel dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the sons of Israel were in their cities.
