1 L AS palabras de Amós, que fué entre los pastores de Tecoa, las cuales vió acerca de Israel en días de Uzzía rey de Judá, y en días de Jeroboam hijo de Joas rey de Israel, dos años antes del terremoto.

¶ The words of Amos, who was among the pastors of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

2 Y dijo: Jehová bramará desde Sión, y dará su voz desde Jerusalem; y las estancias de los pastores se enlutarán, y secaráse la cumbre del Carmelo.

And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the pastors shall be destroyed, and the top of Carmel shall wither.

3 A sí ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Damasco, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque trillaron á Galaad con trillos de hierro.

¶ Thus hath the LORD said: For three transgressions of Damascus and for the fourth, I will not convert her because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron.

4 Y meteré fuego en la casa de Hazael, y consumirá los palacios de Ben-hadad.

But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad.

5 Y quebraré la barra de Damasco, y talaré los moradores de Bicath-aven, y los gobernadores de Beth-eden: y el pueblo de Aram será trasportado á Chîr, dice Jehová.

I will also break the bar of Damascus and cut off the inhabitants of the plain of Aven and him that holds the sceptre from the house of Eden; and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir.

6 A sí ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Gaza, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque llevó cautiva toda la cautividad, para entregarlos á Edom.

Thus hath the LORD said: For three transgressions of Gaza and for the fourth, I will not convert her because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:

7 Y meteré fuego en el muro de Gaza, y quemará sus palacios.

but I will send a fire in the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof.

8 Y talaré los moradores de Azoto, y los gobernadores de Ascalón: y tornaré mi mano sobre Ecrón, y las reliquias de los Palestinos perecerán, ha dicho el Señor Jehová.

And I will cut off the inhabitants of Ashdod and him that holds the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn my hand against Ekron; and the remnant of the Palestinians shall perish, said the Lord GOD.

9 A sí ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Tiro, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque entregaron la cautividad entera á Edom, y no se acordaron del concierto de hermanos.

Thus hath the LORD said: For three transgressions of Tyre and for the fourth, I will not convert her because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom and did not remember the brotherly covenant;

10 Y meteré fuego en el muro de Tiro, y consumirá sus palacios.

but I will send fire in the wall of Tyre, which shall devour its palaces.

11 A sí ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de Edom, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque persiguió á cuchillo á su hermano, y rompió sus conmiseraciones; y con su furor le ha robado siempre, y ha perpetuamente guardado el enojo.

Thus hath the LORD said: For three transgressions of Edom and for the fourth, I will not convert her because she pursued her brother with the sword and cast off all mercy, and with her anger she stole from him perpetually, and she kept her wrath for ever:

12 Y meteré fuego en Temán, y consumirá los palacios de Bosra.

but I will send fire in Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.

13 A sí ha dicho Jehová: Por tres pecados de los hijos de Ammón, y por el cuarto, no desviaré su castigo; porque abrieron las preñadas de Galaad, para ensanchar su término.

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the sons of Ammon and for the fourth, I will not convert her because they have ripped off the mountains of Gilead that they might enlarge their border:

14 Y encenderé fuego en el muro de Rabba, y consumirá sus palacios con estruendo en día de batalla, con tempestad en día tempestuoso:

but I will kindle fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof as with shouting in the day of battle, as with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;

15 Y su rey irá en cautiverio, él y sus príncipes todos, dice Jehová.

and their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, said the LORD.
