1 P OSTROSE Bel, abatióse Nebo; sus simulacros fueron puestos sobre bestias, y sobre animales de carga: os llevarán cargados de vosotros, carga penosa.

¶ Bel bowed down; Nebo is fallen; their images were placed upon animals and upon beasts of burden that will carry you, laden with yourselves, burden of weariness.

2 F ueron humillados, fueron abatidos juntamente; no pudieron escaparse de la carga, sino que tuvieron ellos mismos que ir en cautiverio.

They stoop, they are fallen together; they could not escape from the burden, and their soul had to go into captivity.

3 O idme, oh casa de Jacob, y todo el resto de la casa de Israel, los que sois traídos por mí desde el vientre, los que sois llevados desde la matriz.

Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb:

4 Y hasta la vejez yo mismo, y hasta las canas os soportaré yo: yo hice, yo llevaré, yo soportaré y guardaré.

And even to your old age I am he, and even to grey hairs I will carry you; I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will deliver you.

5 ¿ A quién me asemejáis, y me igualáis, y me comparáis, para que sea semejante?

¶ To whom will ye liken me and make me equal and compare me that we may be alike?

6 S acan oro del talego, y pesan plata con balanzas, alquilan un platero para hacer un dios de ello; humíllanse y adoran.

They lavish gold out of the bag and weigh silver in the balance and hire a goldsmith, and he makes it a god; they fall down and worship.

7 E chanselo sobre los hombros, llévanlo, y asiéntanlo en su lugar; allí se está, y no se mueve de su sitio. Danle voces, y tampoco responde, ni libra de la tribulación.

They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him and set him in his place. There he is; he does not move from his place; they cry unto him, and neither does he answer, nor save from the tribulation.

8 A cordaos de esto, y tened vergüenza, tornad en vosotros, prevaricadores.

Remember this, and be ashamed, bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors.

9 A cordaos de las cosas pasadas desde el siglo; porque yo soy Dios, y no hay más Dios, y nada hay á mí semejante;

Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no one else; I am God, and there is no one like me,

10 Q ue anuncio lo por venir desde el principio, y desde antiguo lo que aun no era hecho; que digo: Mi consejo permanecerá, y haré todo lo que quisiere;

declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

11 Q ue llamo desde el oriente al ave, y de tierra lejana al varón de mi consejo. Yo hablé, y lo haré venir: he lo pensado, y también lo haré.

Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executes my counsel from a far country; I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it; I will also do it.

12 O idme, duros de corazón, que estáis lejos de la justicia.

Hearken unto me, ye hard of heart, that are far from righteousness;

13 H aré que se acerque mi justicia, no se alejará: y mi salud no se detendrá. Y pondré salud en Sión, y mi gloria en Israel.

I cause my righteousness to come near; it shall not go away; and my salvation shall not be stayed: and I will place salvation in Zion; and my glory in Israel.
