1 A l Músico principal: Salmo de David, siervo de Jehová, el cual profirió á Jehová las palabras de este cántico el día que le libró Jehová de mano de todos sus enemigos, y de mano de Saúl. Entonces dijo: AMARTE he, oh Jehová, fortaleza mía.

¶ I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.

2 J ehová, roca mía y castillo mío, y mi libertador; Dios mío, fuerte mío, en él confiaré; Escudo mío, y el cuerno de mi salud, mi refugio.

The LORD is my rock and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

3 I nvocaré á Jehová, digno de ser alabado, Y seré salvo de mis enemigos.

I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, so shall I be saved from my enemies.

4 C ercáronme dolores de muerte, Y torrentes de perversidad me atemorizaron.

The pain of death compassed me, and the rivers of Belial made me afraid.

5 D olores del sepulcro me rodearon, Previniéronme lazos de muerte.

The pain of Sheol compassed me about: the snares of death came before me.

6 E n mi angustia invoqué á Jehová, Y clamé á mi Dios: El oyó mi voz desde su templo, Y mi clamor llegó delante de él, á sus oídos.

In my distress I called upon the LORD and cried unto my God; he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

7 Y la tierra fué conmovida y tembló; Y moviéronse los fundamentos de los montes, Y se estremecieron, porque se indignó él.

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of the mountains collapsed and were removed because he was wroth.

8 H umo subió de su nariz, Y de su boca consumidor fuego; Carbones fueron por él encendidos.

Smoke went up out of his nostrils, and fire devoured out of his mouth; coals were kindled by it.

9 Y bajó los cielos, y descendió; Y oscuridad debajo de sus pies.

He lowered the heavens and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

10 Y cabalgó sobre un querubín, y voló: Voló sobre las alas del viento.

And he rode upon a cherub and flew: yea, he flew upon the wings of the wind.

11 P uso tinieblas por escondedero suyo, su pabellón en derredor de sí; Oscuridad de aguas, nubes de los cielos.

He made darkness his hiding place; in his tabernacle round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the heavens.

12 P or el resplandor delante de él, sus nubes pasaron; Granizo y carbones ardientes.

At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

13 Y tronó en los cielos Jehová, Y el Altísimo dió su voz; Granizo y carbones de fuego.

The LORD thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

14 Y envió sus saetas, y desbaratólos; Y echó relámpagos, y los destruyó.

He sent out his arrows and scattered them; he shot out lightnings and destroyed them.

15 Y aparecieron las honduras de las aguas, Y descubriéronse los cimientos del mundo, A tu reprensión, oh Jehová, Por el soplo del viento de tu nariz.

Then the depths of the waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

16 E nvió desde lo alto; tomóme, Sácome de las muchas aguas.

He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

17 L ibróme de mi poderoso enemigo, Y de los que me aborrecían, aunque eran ellos más fuertes que yo.

He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from those who hated me, even though they were too strong for me.

18 A saltáronme en el día de mi quebranto: Mas Jehová fué mi apoyo.

They were ready for me in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my staff.

19 Y sacóme á anchura: Libróme, porque se agradó de mí.

He brought me forth also into a wide place; he delivered me because he delighted in me.

20 H ame pagado Jehová conforme á mi justicia: Conforme á la limpieza de mis manos me ha vuelto.

¶ The LORD will reward me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he shall recompense me.

21 P orque yo he guardado los caminos de Jehová, Y no me aparté impíamente de mi Dios.

Because I have kept the ways of the LORD and did not become wicked departing in apostasy from my God.

22 P ues todos sus juicios estuvieron delante de mí, Y no eché de mí sus estatutos.

For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.

23 Y fuí integro para con él, y cauteléme de mi maldad.

I was perfect before him, and I kept myself from my iniquity.

24 P agóme pues Jehová conforme á mi justicia; Conforme á la limpieza de mis manos delante de sus ojos.

Therefore the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands before his eyes.

25 C on el misericordioso te mostrarás misericordioso, Y recto para con el hombre íntegro.

With the merciful thou wilt show thyself merciful; with a perfect man thou wilt show thyself perfect;

26 L impio te mostrarás para con el limpio, Y severo serás para con el perverso.

with the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; and with the perverse thou wilt show thyself adversary.

27 Y tú salvarás al pueblo humilde, Y humillarás los ojos altivos.

Therefore thou wilt save the humble people; but wilt bring down high looks.

28 T ú pues alumbrarás mi lámpara: Jehová mi Dios alumbrará mis tinieblas.

For thou wilt light my fire: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

29 P orque contigo desharé ejércitos; Y con mi Dios asaltaré muros.

¶ For with thee I have scattered armies; and in my God I have overcome walled defenses.

30 D ios, perfecto su camino: Es acendrada la palabra de Jehová: Escudo es á todos los que en él esperan.

As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is precise: a shield to all those that wait in him.

31 P orque ¿qué Dios hay fuera de Jehová? ¿Y qué fuerte fuera de nuestro Dios?

For who is God except the LORD? or who is a refuge except our God?

32 D ios es el que me ciñe de fuerza, E hizo perfecto mi camino;

It is God that girds me with strength and makes my way perfect.

33 Q uien pone mis pies como pies de ciervas, E hízome estar sobre mis alturas;

He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and sets me upon my high places.

34 Q uien enseña mis manos para la batalla, Y será quebrado con mis brazos el arco de acero.

He trains my hands for the battle, so that a bow of bronze shall be broken by my arms.

35 D ísteme asimismo el escudo de tu salud: Y tu diestra me sustentó, Y tu benignidad me ha acrecentado.

In the same manner thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand will hold me up, and thy meekness shall multiply me.

36 E nsanchaste mis pasos debajo de mí, Y no titubearon mis rodillas.

Thou shall enlarge my steps under me, and my knees shall not tremble.

37 P erseguido he mis enemigos, y alcancélos, Y no volví hasta acabarlos.

I shall pursue my enemies and overtake them: neither shall I turn again until they are consumed.

38 H elos herido, y no podrán levantarse: Cayeron debajo de mis pies.

I shall smite them, and they will not be able to rise: they shall fall under my feet.

39 P ues me ceñiste de fortaleza para la pelea; Has agobiado mis enemigos debajo de mí.

For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued my enemies under me.

40 Y dísteme la cerviz de mis enemigos, Y destruí á los que me aborrecían.

Thou hast also given me the necks of my enemies that I might destroy those that hate me.

41 C lamaron, y no hubo quien salvase: Aun á Jehová, mas no los oyó.

They cried out, but there was no one to save them: even unto the LORD, but he did not answer them.

42 Y molílos como polvo delante del viento; Esparcílos como lodo de las calles.

Then I beat them as small as the dust before the wind: I scattered them as the dirt in the streets.

43 L ibrásteme de contiendas de pueblo: Pusísteme por cabecera de gentes: Pueblo que yo no conocía, me sirvió.

Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the Gentiles: a people whom I did not know served me.

44 A sí que hubo oído, me obedeció; Los hijos de extraños me mintieron;

As soon as they heard of me, they obeyed me: the sons of strangers submitted themselves unto me even against their will.

45 L os extraños flaquearon, Y tuvieron miedo desde sus encerramientos.

The strangers fell away and were afraid in their close places.

46 V iva Jehová, y sea bendita mi roca; Y ensalzado sea el Dios de mi salud:

The LORD lives; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

47 E l Dios que me da las venganzas, Y sujetó pueblos á mí.

It is God that avenges me and subdues the peoples under me.

48 M i libertador de mis enemigos: Hicísteme también superior de mis adversarios; Librásteme de varón violento.

He delivers me from my enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the one who would betray me.

49 P or tanto yo te confesaré entre las gentes, oh Jehová, Y cantaré á tu nombre.

Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the Gentiles and sing praises unto thy name.

50 E l cual engrandece las saludes de su rey, Y hace misericordia á su ungido, A David y á su simiente, para siempre.

He gives great deliverance to his king and shows mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.
