1 T he fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt. They have done abominable deeds. There is no one who does good.

«Al maestro del coro. Di Davide» Lo stolto ha detto nel suo cuore: «Non c'è DIO». Sono corrotti, fanno cose abominevoli; non c'è alcuno che faccia il bene.

2 Y ahweh looked down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there were any who understood, who sought after God.

L'Eterno guarda dal cielo sui figli degli uomini per vedere se vi sia qualcuno che abbia intendimento, che cerchi DIO.

3 T hey have all gone aside. They have together become corrupt. There is no one who does good, no, not one.

Si sono tutti sviati, si sono tutti corrotti; non c'è alcuno che faccia il bene, neppure uno.

4 H ave all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and don’t call on Yahweh?

Non hanno alcun intendimento tutti gli operatori di iniquità, che mangiano il mio popolo come se mangiassero del pane e non invocano l'Eterno?

5 T here they were in great fear, for God is in the generation of the righteous.

Là saranno presi da una grande paura, perché DIO è con la gente giusta.

6 Y ou frustrate the plan of the poor, because Yahweh is his refuge.

Voi cercate di frustrare i piani del misero, perché l'Eterno è il suo rifugio.

7 O h that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When Yahweh restores the fortunes of his people, then Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Oh! Venga pure da Sion la salvezza, d'Israele! Quando l'Eterno ricondurrà dalla cattività il suo popolo, Giacobbe esulterà, Israele si rallegrerà.
