1 S eñor, tú me has examinado y me conoces;

O Jehovah, thou hast searched me, and known me.

2 t ú sabes cuando me siento o me levanto; ¡desde lejos sabes todo lo que pienso!

Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising; Thou understandest my thought afar off.

3 M e vigilas cuando camino y cuando descanso; ¡estás enterado de todo lo que hago!

Thou searchest out my path and my lying down, And art acquainted with all my ways.

4 T odavía no tengo las palabras en la lengua, ¡y tú, Señor, ya sabes lo que estoy por decir!

For there is not a word in my tongue, But, lo, O Jehovah, thou knowest it altogether.

5 T u presencia me envuelve por completo; la palma de tu mano reposa sobre mí.

Thou hast beset me behind and before, And laid thy hand upon me.

6 S aber esto rebasa mi entendimiento; ¡es tan sublime que no alcanzo a comprenderlo!

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain unto it.

7 ¿ Dónde puedo esconderme de tu espíritu? ¿Cómo podría huir de tu presencia?

Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

8 S i subiera yo a los cielos, allí estás tú; si me tendiera en el sepulcro, también estás allí.

If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, thou art there.

9 S i levantara el vuelo hacia el sol naciente, o si habitara en los confines del mar,

If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

10 a un allí tu mano me sostendría; ¡tu mano derecha no me soltaría!

Even there shall thy hand lead me, And thy right hand shall hold me.

11 S i quisiera esconderme en las tinieblas, y que se hiciera noche la luz que me rodea,

If I say, Surely the darkness shall overwhelm me, And the light about me shall be night;

12 ¡ ni las tinieblas me esconderían de ti, pues para ti la noche es como el día! ¡Para ti son lo mismo las tinieblas y la luz!

Even the darkness hideth not from thee, But the night shineth as the day: The darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

13 T ú, Señor, diste forma a mis entrañas; tú me formaste en el vientre de mi madre!

For thou didst form my inward parts: Thou didst cover me in my mother's womb.

14 T e alabo porque tus obras son formidables, porque todo lo que haces es maravilloso. ¡De esto estoy plenamente convencido!

I will give thanks unto thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Wonderful are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well.

15 A unque en lo íntimo me diste forma, y en lo más secreto me fui desarrollando, nada de mi cuerpo te fue desconocido.

My frame was not hidden from thee, When I was made in secret, And curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 C on tus propios ojos viste mi embrión; todos los días de mi vida ya estaban en tu libro; antes de que me formaras, los anotaste, y no faltó uno solo de ellos.

Thine eyes did see mine unformed substance; And in thy book they were all written, Even the days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was none of them.

17 D ios mío, ¡cuán preciosos me son tus pensamientos! ¡Cuán vastos son en su totalidad!

How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them!

18 S i los contara, serían más que la arena; si terminara de contarlos, tú aún estarías allí.

If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: When I awake, I am still with thee.

19 D ios mío, ¡quítales la vida a los malvados! ¡Aparta de mí a la gente violenta,

Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: Depart from me therefore, ye bloodthirsty men.

20 a esos enemigos tuyos que blasfeman y se burlan de ti!

For they speak against thee wickedly, And thine enemies take thy name in vain.

21 S eñor, tú sabes que odio a los que te odian, que mi enojo se enciende contra tus enemigos.

Do not I hate them, O Jehovah, that hate thee? And am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?

22 S on para mí totalmente aborrecibles; ¡los considero mis peores enemigos!

I hate them with perfect hatred: They are become mine enemies.

23 S eñor, examina y reconoce mi corazón: pon a prueba cada uno de mis pensamientos.

Search me, O God, and know my heart: Try me, and know my thoughts;

24 A sí verás si voy por mal camino, y me guiarás por el camino eterno.

And see if there be any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.
