1 H ijos, obedezcan a sus padres en el nombre del Señor, porque esto es justo.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

2 H onra a tu padre y a tu madre, que es el primer mandamiento con promesa;

Honor thy father and mother (which is the first commandment with promise),

3 p ara que te vaya bien, y tengas una larga vida sobre la tierra.

that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

4 U stedes, los padres, no exasperen a sus hijos, sino edúquenlos en la disciplina y la instrucción del Señor.

And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but nurture them in the chastening and admonition of the Lord.

5 U stedes, los siervos, obedezcan a sus amos terrenales con temor y temblor, y con sencillez de corazón, como obedecen a Cristo.

Servants, be obedient unto them that according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

6 N o actúen así sólo cuando los estén mirando, como los que quieren agradar a la gente, sino como siervos de Cristo que de corazón hacen la voluntad de Dios.

not in the way of eyeservice, as men-pleasers; but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

7 C uando sirvan, háganlo de buena gana, como quien sirve al Señor y no a los hombres,

with good will doing service, as unto the Lord, and not unto men:

8 s abiendo que cada uno de nosotros, sea siervo o libre, recibirá del Señor según lo que haya hecho.

knowing that whatsoever good thing each one doeth, the same shall he receive again from the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

9 U stedes, los amos, hagan lo mismo con sus siervos. Ya no los amenacen. Como saben, el Señor de ellos y de ustedes está en los cielos, y él no hace acepción de personas. La armadura de Dios

And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, and forbear threatening: knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no respect of persons with him.

10 P or lo demás, hermanos míos, manténganse firmes en el Señor y en el poder de su fuerza.

Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might.

11 R evístanse de toda la armadura de Dios, para que puedan hacer frente a las asechanzas del diablo.

Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 L a batalla que libramos no es contra gente de carne y hueso, sino contra principados y potestades, contra los que gobiernan las tinieblas de este mundo, ¡contra huestes espirituales de maldad en las regiones celestes!

For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

13 P or lo tanto, echen mano de toda la armadura de Dios para que, cuando llegue el día malo, puedan resistir hasta el fin y permanecer firmes.

Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.

14 P or tanto, manténganse firmes y fajados con el cinturón de la verdad, revestidos con la coraza de justicia,

Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

15 y con los pies calzados con la disposición de predicar el evangelio de la paz.

and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 A demás de todo esto, protéjanse con el escudo de la fe, para que puedan apagar todas las flechas incendiarias del maligno.

withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.

17 C úbranse con el casco de la salvación, y esgriman la espada del Espíritu, que es la palabra de Dios.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 O ren en todo tiempo con toda oración y súplica en el Espíritu, y manténganse atentos, siempre orando por todos los santos.

with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,

19 O ren también por mí, para que cuando hable me sea dado el don de la palabra y dé a conocer sin temor el misterio del evangelio,

And on my behalf, that utterance may be given unto me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,

20 d el cual soy embajador en cadenas. Oren para que lo proclame sin ningún temor, que es como debo hacerlo. Salutaciones finales

for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

21 N uestro querido hermano Tíquico, que es un fiel ministro en el Señor, habrá de comentarles todo acerca de mis actividades, para que también ustedes estén al tanto de todo.

But that ye also may know my affairs, how I do, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:

22 L o envío a ustedes precisamente para que sepan todo lo referente a nosotros, y para que de esa manera sus corazones reciban consuelo.

whom I have sent unto you for this very purpose, that ye may know our state, and that he may comfort your hearts.

23 Q ue Dios el Padre y el Señor Jesucristo concedan a los hermanos paz, amor y fe.

Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Q ue la gracia sea con todos los que, con amor inalterable, aman a nuestro Señor Jesucristo. Amén.

Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ with a love incorruptible.
