1 S alomón comenzó a edificar el templo del Señor en el monte Moriah, en Jerusalén, en el lugar que David había preparado en la era de Ornán el jebuseo, y que le había sido mostrado.

Then Solomon began to build the house of Jehovah at Jerusalem on mount Moriah, where Jehovah appeared unto David his father, which he made ready in the place that David had appointed, in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

2 C omenzó la construcción a los dos días del mes segundo del cuarto año de su reinado.

And he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.

3 L os cimientos que Salomón puso al templo de Dios medían sesenta codos de largo y veinte codos de ancho.

Now these are the foundations which Solomon laid for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure was threescore cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.

4 E l pórtico que estaba al frente del edificio medía veinte codos de largo, lo mismo que el ancho del templo, y ciento veinte codos de altura. Lo recubrió por dentro de oro puro,

And the porch that was before the house, the length of it, according to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and the height a hundred and twenty; and he overlaid it within with pure gold.

5 y el cuerpo mayor del edificio lo techó con madera de ciprés, la cual recubrió de oro fino, con molduras de palmeras y cadenas.

And the greater house he ceiled with fir-wood, which he overlaid with fine gold, and wrought thereon palm-trees and chains.

6 T ambién recubrió el templo de piedras preciosas para adornarlo. El oro era de Parvaim.

And he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold was gold of Parvaim.

7 D e modo que recubrió de oro el templo y sus vigas, umbrales, paredes y puertas, y en las paredes esculpió querubines.

He overlaid also the house, the beams, the thresholds, and the walls thereof, and the doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubim on the walls.

8 S alomón hizo además el lugar santísimo, y medía veinte codos de largo y veinte codos de ancho, como el ancho del frente del templo, y lo recubrió con cerca de veinte mil kilos de oro fino.

And he made the most holy house: the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits; and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.

9 T ambién recubrió de oro los aposentos. Los clavos eran de oro y cada uno pesaba más de quinientos gramos.

And the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.

10 E n el interior del lugar santísimo puso dos querubines de madera, los cuales fueron recubiertos de oro.

And in the most holy house he made two cherubim of image work; and they overlaid them with gold.

11 L as alas de los querubines medían veinte codos de largo, pues cada ala medía cinco codos y llegaba hasta la pared del templo, y la otra ala de cinco codos tocaba el ala del otro querubín.

And the wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits long: the wing of the one cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was likewise five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.

12 D e igual manera, un ala del otro querubín era de cinco codos y llegaba hasta la pared del templo, y la otra era también de cinco codos y tocaba un ala del otro querubín.

And the wing of the other cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was five cubits also, joining to the wing of the other cherub.

13 L as alas extendidas de estos querubines medían veinte codos, y estaban de pie y con los rostros en dirección al templo.

The wings of these cherubim spread themselves forth twenty cubits: and they stood on their feet, and their faces were toward the house.

14 S alomón hizo también el velo de azul, púrpura, carmesí y lino, y mandó bordar querubines en él. Las dos columnas

And he made the veil of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubim thereon.

15 E n el frente del templo hizo dos columnas, cada una de las cuales medía treinta y cinco codos de altura. Cada capitel medía cinco codos.

Also he made before the house two pillars of thirty and five cubits high, and the capital that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.

16 A demás, hizo cadenas para el santuario, y las puso sobre los capiteles de las columnas. Hizo también cien granadas, y las puso en las cadenas.

And he made chains in the oracle, and put them on the tops of the pillars; and he made a hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains.

17 L as columnas las colocó delante del templo, una a la derecha y la otra a la izquierda. A la que estaba a la derecha la llamó Jaquín, y a la que estaba a la izquierda la llamó Boaz.

And he set up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.
