1 » Tú, hijo de hombre, profetiza a los montes de Israel. Diles que oigan la palabra del Señor.»

And thou, son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of Jehovah.

2 A sí ha dicho Dios el Señor: «El enemigo se burla de ustedes, y dice: “¡Vaya! ¡Hasta las alturas eternas se nos han dado en posesión!”

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha! and, The ancient high places are ours in possession;

3 P or eso, profetiza contra ellos.» Así ha dicho Dios el Señor: «Ustedes han sido asolados. Por todos lados, gente de otras naciones se los han tragado; ¡los han convertido en su propiedad!; ¡los han hecho caer en boca de habladores, para que sean la burla de todos los pueblos!

therefore prophesy, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because, even because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the nations, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and the evil report of the people;

4 P or eso, montes de Israel, escuchen la palabra de Dios el Señor.» Así ha dicho Dios el Señor a los montes y a las colinas, a los arroyos y a los valles, a las ruinas desoladas y a las ciudades desamparadas, que quedaron expuestas a la burla de las naciones vecinas, y a ser su botín de guerra.

therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Jehovah: Thus saith the Lord Jehovah to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which are become a prey and derision to the residue of the nations that are round about;

5 S í, así ha dicho Dios el Señor: «En el ardor de mi enojo ciertamente he hablado en contra de las demás naciones y en contra de todo Edom, porque alegremente y con enconada vehemencia se disputaron mi tierra para quedarse con ella. Quisieron tomar prisioneros a los que fueron expulsados de allí.

therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the nations, and against all Edom, that have appointed my land unto themselves for a possession with the joy of all their heart, with despite of soul, to cast it out for a prey.

6 P or eso, profetiza acerca de la tierra de Israel, y diles a sus montes y colinas, y a sus arroyos y valles, que yo, su Dios y Señor, he dicho: “En mi enojo y furor he hablado, porque ustedes han tenido que soportar los insultos de las naciones.

Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my wrath, because ye have borne the shame of the nations:

7 P or eso yo, su Dios y Señor, levanto mi mano y juro que las naciones que están alrededor de ustedes tendrán que soportar su propia afrenta.”

therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I have sworn, saying, Surely the nations that are round about you, they shall bear their shame.

8 P ero ustedes, montes de Israel, extenderán su follaje y darán su fruto para mi pueblo Israel, porque ya pronto van a volver.

But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people Israel; for they are at hand to come.

9 » Como pueden ver, yo estoy en favor de ustedes, y voy a cuidarlos, y ustedes serán cultivados y sembrados.

For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn into you, and ye shall be tilled and sown;

10 Y o multiplicaré en ustedes a todos los habitantes de Israel, y las ciudades volverán a ser habitadas, y sus ruinas serán reconstruidas.

and I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded;

11 M ultiplicaré en ustedes el número de hombres y del ganado, y éstos serán multiplicados y crecerán. Haré que vuelvan a vivir como en el pasado, y los trataré mejor que antes. Así sabrán que yo soy el Señor.

and I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and be fruitful; and I will cause you to be inhabited after your former estate, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.

12 » Yo haré que mi pueblo Israel vuelva a ser transitado. Mi pueblo tomará posesión de ti, y tú serás de ellos, y nunca más les quitarás la vida a sus hijos.»

Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of children.

13 A sí ha dicho Dios el Señor: «Se dice que ustedes, como nación, se comen a la gente y matan a sus propios hijos.

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because they say unto you, Thou land art a devourer of men, and hast been a bereaver of thy nation;

14 P ero ya no volverán a devorarse a la gente, ni a matar a tus propios hijos. Palabra de Dios el Señor.

therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nation any more, saith the Lord Jehovah;

15 » Nunca más permitiré que oigas los insultos de las naciones, ni que vuelvas a soportar las ofensas de otros pueblos, ni que les quites la vida a tus propios hijos.» Palabra de Dios el Señor.

neither will I let thee hear any more the shame of the nations, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the peoples any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nation to stumble any more, saith the Lord Jehovah.

16 L a palabra del Señor vino a mí, y me dijo:

Moreover the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

17 « Hijo de hombre, mientras el pueblo de Israel habitaba en su tierra, la contaminó con sus hechos y su modo de proceder. A mis ojos, su manera de actuar fue tan repugnante como si estuvieran menstruando.

Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their way and by their doings: their way before me was as the uncleanness of a woman in her impurity.

18 P or la sangre que derramaron, descargué mi enojo sobre ellos, pues con sus ídolos contaminaron la tierra.

Wherefore I poured out my wrath upon them for the blood which they had poured out upon the land, and because they had defiled it with their idols;

19 P or eso los dispersé por todas las naciones y por todos los países, pues los juzgué como lo merecían sus acciones y su conducta.

and I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

20 C uando llegaron a las naciones a las que fueron llevados, profanaron mi santo nombre, pues de ellos se decía que eran el pueblo del Señor, y que de la tierra del Señor habían salido.

And when they came unto the nations, whither they went, they profaned my holy name; in that men said of them, These are the people of Jehovah, and are gone forth out of his land.

21 Y me ha dolido ver que mi santo nombre ha sido profanado por el pueblo de Israel entre las naciones a las que fueron llevados.

But I had regard for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations, whither they went.

22 » Por eso, dile al pueblo de Israel que yo, su Señor y Dios he dicho: “Pueblo de Israel, no lo hago por ustedes, sino por causa de mi santo nombre, el cual ustedes profanaron entre las naciones a las que fueron llevados.

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I do not this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for my holy name, which ye have profaned among the nations, whither ye went.

23 P ero yo santificaré la grandeza de mi nombre, el cual ustedes profanaron entre las naciones. Y cuando delante de sus ojos yo sea santificado en medio de ustedes, las naciones sabrán que yo soy el Señor. Palabra de Dios el Señor.

And I will sanctify my great name, which hath been profaned among the nations, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the nations shall know that I am Jehovah, saith the Lord Jehovah, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

24 ” Yo los recogeré de todas las naciones y países, y los traeré de vuelta a su tierra.

For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.

25 E sparciré agua limpia sobre ustedes, y ustedes quedarán limpios de todas sus impurezas, pues los limpiaré de todos sus ídolos.

And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

26 L es daré un corazón nuevo, y pondré en ustedes un espíritu nuevo; les quitaré el corazón de piedra que ahora tienen, y les daré un corazón sensible.

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

27 P ondré en ustedes mi espíritu, y haré que cumplan mis estatutos, y que obedezcan y pongan en práctica mis preceptos.

And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep mine ordinances, and do them.

28 Y ustedes habitarán en la tierra que les di a sus padres, y serán mi pueblo, y yo seré su Dios.

And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

29 Y o los limpiaré de todas sus impurezas, y haré que venga el trigo, y lo multiplicaré para que no pasen hambre.

And I will save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the grain, and will multiply it, and lay no famine upon you.

30 M ultiplicaré también el fruto de los árboles, y el fruto de los campos, para que nunca más vuelvan a sufrir el oprobio de pasar hambre entre las naciones.

And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations.

31 Y ustedes se acordarán de su mal proceder y de sus malas acciones, y se avergonzarán de ustedes mismos y de las iniquidades y de los actos repugnantes que cometieron.

Then shall ye remember your evil ways, and your doings that were not good; and ye shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

32 S épanse bien, pueblo de Israel, que no lo hago por ustedes, así que deben avergonzarse y sentirse mal por las iniquidades que han cometido.”» Palabra de Dios el Señor.

Nor for your sake do I this, saith the Lord Jehovah, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.

33 A sí ha dicho Dios el Señor: «El día que yo los limpie de todas sus iniquidades, haré también que las ciudades vuelvan a ser habitadas, y que las ruinas sean reconstruidas.

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded.

34 L a tierra asolada volverá a ser cultivada, en vez de permanecer asolada a la vista de todos los que pasan.

And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, whereas it was a desolation in the sight of all that passed by.

35 » Entonces se dirá: “Esta tierra, que alguna vez fue asolada, ha llegado a ser como el huerto de Edén. Estas ciudades, que habían quedado desiertas y asoladas y en ruinas, ahora están fortificadas y habitadas.”

And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.

36 E ntonces las naciones que hayan quedado a su alrededor sabrán que yo reconstruí lo que fue derribado y planté lo que estaba desolado. Yo, el Señor, lo he dicho y lo haré.»

Then the nations that are left round about you shall know that I, Jehovah, have builded the ruined places, and planted that which was desolate: I, Jehovah, have spoken it, and I will do it.

37 A sí ha dicho Dios el Señor: «Todavía el pueblo de Israel habrá de pedirme que los multiplique, de la manera que se multiplican los rebaños.

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: For this, moreover, will I be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them: I will increase them with men like a flock.

38 Y las ciudades ahora desiertas se llenarán de gente, como se llena Jerusalén con los rebaños de ovejas consagradas en sus fiestas solemnes. Así sabrán que yo soy el Señor.»

As the flock for sacrifice, as the flock of Jerusalem in her appointed feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.
