1 A demás, hermanos, les anuncio el evangelio que les prediqué, que es el mismo que ustedes recibieron y en el cual siguen firmes.

Now I make known unto you brethren, the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye received, wherein also ye stand,

2 P or medio de este evangelio serán salvados, siempre y cuando retengan la palabra que les he predicado. De no ser así, habrán creído en vano.

by which also ye are saved, if ye hold fast the word which I preached unto you, except ye believed in vain.

3 E n primer lugar, les he enseñado lo mismo que yo recibí: Que, conforme a las Escrituras, Cristo murió por nuestros pecados;

For I delivered unto you first of all that which also I received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 q ue también, conforme a las Escrituras, fue sepultado y resucitó al tercer día;

and that he was buried; and that he hath been raised on the third day according to the scriptures;

5 y que se apareció a Cefas, y luego a los doce.

and that he appeared to Cephas; then to the twelve;

6 D espués se apareció a más de quinientos hermanos a la vez, de los cuales muchos aún viven, y otros ya han muerto.

then he appeared to above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain until now, but some are fallen asleep;

7 L uego se apareció a Jacobo, después a todos los apóstoles;

then he appeared to James; then to all the apostles;

8 y por último se me apareció a mí, que soy como un niño nacido fuera de tiempo.

and last of all, as to the child untimely born, he appeared to me also.

9 A decir verdad, yo soy el más pequeño de los apóstoles, y no soy digno de ser llamado apóstol porque perseguí a la iglesia de Dios.

For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

10 P ero por la gracia de Dios soy lo que soy, y su gracia para conmigo no ha sido en vano, pues he trabajado más que todos ellos, aunque no lo he hecho yo, sino la gracia de Dios que está conmigo.

But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not found vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

11 P ero ya sea que lo haga yo, o que lo hagan ellos, esto es lo que predicamos y esto es lo que ustedes han creído.

Whether then it be I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.

12 P ero, si se predica que Cristo ha resucitado de entre los muertos, ¿cómo es que algunos de ustedes dicen que los muertos no resucitan?

Now if Christ is preached that he hath been raised from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

13 P orque, si los muertos no resucitan, tampoco Cristo resucitó.

But if there is no resurrection of the dead, neither hath Christ been raised:

14 Y si Cristo no resucitó, nuestra predicación no tiene sentido, y tampoco tiene sentido la fe de ustedes.

and if Christ hath not been raised, then is our preaching vain, your faith also is vain.

15 E ntonces resultaríamos testigos falsos de Dios por haber testificado que Dios resucitó a Cristo, lo cual no habría sucedido... ¡si es que en verdad los muertos no resucitan!

Yea, we are found false witnesses of God; because we witnessed of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead are not raised.

16 P orque, si los muertos no resucitan, tampoco Cristo resucitó;

For if the dead are not raised, neither hath Christ been raised:

17 y si Cristo no resucitó, la fe de ustedes no tiene sentido, y ustedes todavía están en sus pecados.

and if Christ hath not been raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

18 E n tal caso, también los que murieron en Cristo están perdidos.

Then they also that are fallen asleep in Christ have perished.

19 S i nuestra esperanza en Cristo fuera únicamente para esta vida, seríamos los más desdichados de todos los hombres;

If we have only hoped in Christ in this life, we are of all men most pitiable.

20 p ero el hecho es que Cristo ha resucitado de entre los muertos, como primicias de los que murieron;

But now hath Christ been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of them that are asleep.

21 p orque así como la muerte vino por medio de un solo hombre, también por medio de un solo hombre vino la resurrección de los muertos.

For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

22 P ues así como en Adán todos mueren, también en Cristo todos serán vivificados.

For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.

23 P ero cada uno en su debido orden: en primer lugar, Cristo; y después, cuando Cristo venga, los que son de él.

But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; then they that are Christ's, at his coming.

24 E ntonces vendrá el fin, cuando él entregue el reino al Dios y Padre, y haya puesto fin a todo dominio, autoridad y poder.

Then cometh the end, when he shall deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have abolished all rule and all authority and power.

25 P orque es necesario que él reine hasta que haya puesto a todos sus enemigos debajo de sus pies,

For he must reign, till he hath put all his enemies under his feet.

26 y el último enemigo que será destruido es la muerte.

The last enemy that shall be abolished is death.

27 P orque Dios sujetó todas las cosas debajo de sus pies. Y cuando dice que todas las cosas quedaron sujetas a él, es evidente que esto no incluye a aquel que puso todas las cosas debajo de sus pies.

For, He put all things in subjection under his feet. But when he saith, All things are put in subjection, it is evident that he is excepted who did subject all things unto him.

28 P ero una vez que todas las cosas queden sujetas a él, entonces el Hijo mismo quedará sujeto al que puso todas las cosas debajo de sus pies, para que Dios sea el todo en todos.

And when all things have been subjected unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subjected to him that did subject all things unto him, that God may be all in all.

29 S i en verdad los muertos no resucitan, ¿qué ganan los que se bautizan por los muertos? ¿Para qué bautizarse por ellos?

Else what shall they do that are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?

30 ¿ Y por qué nosotros estamos a cada momento en peligro de muerte?

Why do we also stand in jeopardy every hour?

31 H ermanos, por el motivo de orgullo que tengo por ustedes en nuestro Señor Jesucristo, yo les aseguro que muero a cada instante.

I protest by that glorifying in you, brethren, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

32 P ero ¿de qué me serviría, desde el punto de vista humano, haber luchado en Éfeso contra fieras? Si los muertos no resucitan, ¡entonces «comamos y bebamos, que mañana moriremos»!

If after the manner of men I fought with beasts at Ephesus, what doth it profit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for to-morrow we die.

33 N o se dejen engañar: las malas compañías corrompen las buenas costumbres;

Be not deceived: Evil companionships corrupt good morals.

34 a sí que vuelvan en sí y vivan con rectitud, y no pequen, porque algunos de ustedes no conocen a Dios. Y esto lo digo para que sientan vergüenza.

Awake to soberness righteously, and sin not; for some have no knowledge of God: I speak this to move you to shame.

35 T al vez alguien pregunte: ¿Y cómo resucitarán los muertos? ¿Con qué cuerpo vendrán?

But some one will say, How are the dead raised? and with what manner of body do they come?

36 N o preguntes tonterías. Lo que tú siembras no cobra vida, si antes no muere.

Thou foolish one, that which thou thyself sowest is not quickened except it die:

37 Y lo que siembras no es lo que luego saldrá, sino el grano desnudo, ya sea de trigo o de algún otro grano;

and that which thou sowest, thou sowest not the body that shall be, but a bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other kind;

38 p ero Dios le da el cuerpo que quiso darle, y a cada semilla le da su propio cuerpo.

but God giveth it a body even as it pleased him, and to each seed a body of its own.

39 N o todos los cuerpos son iguales, sino que uno es el cuerpo de los hombres, y otro muy distinto el de los animales, otro el de los peces, y otro el de las aves.

All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fishes.

40 T ambién hay cuerpos celestiales, y cuerpos terrenales; pero la gloria de los celestiales es una, y la de los terrenales es otra.

There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

41 U no es el esplendor del sol, otro el de la luna, y otro el de las estrellas, pues una estrella es diferente de otra en su magnificencia.

There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differeth from another star in glory.

42 A sí será también en la resurrección de los muertos: Lo que se siembra en corrupción, resucitará en incorrupción;

So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

43 l o que se siembra en deshonra, resucitará en gloria; lo que se siembra en debilidad, resucitará en poder.

it is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

44 S e siembra un cuerpo animal, y resucitará un cuerpo espiritual. Porque así como hay un cuerpo animal, hay también un cuerpo espiritual.

it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

45 A sí también está escrito: «El primer hombre, Adán, se convirtió en un ser con vida»; y el postrer Adán, un espíritu que da vida.

So also it is written, The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

46 P ero lo espiritual no vino primero, sino lo animal; y luego lo espiritual.

Howbeit that is not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; then that which is spiritual.

47 E l primer hombre es terrenal, de la tierra; el segundo hombre, que es el Señor, es del cielo.

The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of heaven.

48 S emejantes al terrenal, serán también los terrenales; y semejantes al celestial, serán también los celestiales.

As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

49 Y así como hemos llevado la imagen del hombre terrenal, así también llevaremos la imagen del celestial.

And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

50 P ero una cosa les digo, hermanos: ni la carne ni la sangre pueden heredar el reino de Dios, y tampoco la corrupción puede heredar la incorrupción.

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

51 P resten atención, que les voy a contar un misterio: No todos moriremos, pero todos seremos transformados

Behold, I tell you a mystery: We all shall not sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 e n un instante, en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, cuando suene la trompeta final. Pues la trompeta sonará, y los muertos serán resucitados incorruptibles, y nosotros seremos transformados.

in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 P orque es necesario que lo corruptible se vista de incorrupción, y lo mortal se vista de inmortalidad.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

54 Y cuando esto, que es corruptible, se haya vestido de incorrupción, y esto, que es mortal, se haya vestido de inmortalidad, entonces se cumplirá la palabra escrita: «Devorada será la muerte por la victoria».

But when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

55 ¿ Dónde está, oh muerte, tu aguijón? ¿Dónde, oh sepulcro, tu victoria?

O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?

56 P orque el pecado es el aguijón de la muerte, y la ley es la que da poder al pecado.

The sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law:

57 ¡ Pero gracias sean dadas a Dios, de que nos da la victoria por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo!

but thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 A sí que, amados hermanos míos, manténganse firmes y constantes, y siempre creciendo en la obra del Señor, seguros de que el trabajo de ustedes en el Señor no carece de sentido.

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not vain in the Lord.
