1 Y Salomón fue el rey de todo Israel.

And king Solomon was king over all Israel.

2 L os funcionarios que le ayudaron fueron: Azarías hijo de Sadoc, el sacerdote;

And these were the princes whom he had: Azariah the son of Zadok, the priest;

3 E lijoref y Ajías, hijos de Sisa, cronistas; Josafat hijo de Ajilud, secretario del rey;

Elihoreph and Ahijah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder;

4 B enaías hijo de Joyadá, jefe del ejército; Sadoc y Abiatar, sacerdotes;

and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host; and Zadok and Abiathar were priests;

5 A zarías hijo de Natán, jefe de los gobernadores; Zabud hijo de Natán, sacerdote y consejero del rey;

and Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers; and Zabud the son of Nathan was chief minister, and the king's friend;

6 A jisar, mayordomo; Adonirán hijo de Abda, recaudador de tributos.

and Ahishar was over the household; and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the men subject to taskwork.

7 S alomón tenía doce gobernadores en Israel, responsables de abastecerlo en todo lo que necesitaran él y su familia.

And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, who provided victuals for the king and his household: each man had to make provision for a month in the year.

8 É stos son sus nombres: Ben Jur, en el monte de Efraín;

And these are their names: Ben-hur, in the hill-country of Ephraim;

9 B en Decar, en Macás, Sagalbín, Bet Semes, Elón y Bet Janán;

Ben-deker, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Beth-shemesh, and Elon-beth-hanan;

10 B en Jésed, en Arubot, y también gobernaba Soco y toda la tierra de Hefer;

Ben-hesed, in Arubboth (to him pertained Socoh, and all the land of Hepher);

11 B en Abinadab, que se había casado con Tafat, la hija de Salomón, en todos los territorios de Dor;

Ben-abinadab, in all the height of Dor (he had Taphath the daughter of Solomon to wife);

12 B aná hijo de Ajilud, en Tanac, Meguido y en toda Bet Seán, que está cerca de Saretán, más abajo de Jezrel, desde Bet Seán hasta Abel Meholá, y hasta el otro lado de Jocmeán;

Baana the son of Ahilud, in Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth-shean which is beside Zarethan, beneath Jezreel, from Beth-shean to Abel-meholah, as far as beyond Jokmeam;

13 B en Guéber, en Ramot de Galaad, pero también gobernaba las ciudades de Yaír hijo de Manasés, las cuales estaban en Galaad; la provincia de Argob, que estaba en Basán; sesenta grandes ciudades amuralladas y con cerraduras de bronce;

Ben-geber, in Ramoth-gilead (to him pertained the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; even to him pertained the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, threescore great cities with walls and brazen bars);

14 A jinadab hijo de Iddo, en Majanayin;

Ahinadab the son of Iddo, in Mahanaim;

15 A jimaz, que se casó con Basemat, la hija de Salomón, en Neftalí;

Ahimaaz, in Naphtali (he also took Basemath the daughter of Solomon to wife);

16 B aná hijo de Jusay, en Aser y en Alot;

Baana the son of Hushai, in Asher and Bealoth;

17 J osafat hijo de Paruaj, en Isacar;

Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar;

18 S imey hijo de Elá, en Benjamín;

Shimei the son of Ela, in Benjamin;

19 G eber hijo de Uri, en la tierra de Galaad; en la tierra de Sijón, rey de los amorreos; y de Og, rey de Basán. Éste era el único gobernador en aquella tierra.

Geber the son of Uri, in the land of Gilead, the country of Sihon king of the Amorites and of Og king of Bashan; and he was the only officer that was in the land.

20 L a población de Judá e Israel era tan numerosa como la arena del mar, y todos se alegraban cuando se reunían a comer y beber.

Judah and Israel were many as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking and making merry.

21 S alomón era rey y señor de los reinos, desde el río Éufrates hasta la tierra de los filisteos y los límites con Egipto. Mientras Salomón vivió, todos le pagaron tributos como sus vasallos.

And Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the River unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought tribute, and served Solomon all the days of his life.

22 L a provisión que diariamente recibía Salomón era de treinta coros de harina fina, sesenta coros de harina común,

And Solomon's provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal,

23 d iez bueyes engordados, veinte bueyes de pastoreo y cien ovejas, sin contar los ciervos, gacelas, corzos y aves de corral.

ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and a hundred sheep, besides harts, and gazelles, and roebucks, and fatted fowl.

24 S alomón dominó los reinos al oeste del río Éufrates, desde Tifesaj hasta Gaza, y en toda esa región hubo paz.

For he had dominion over all the region on this side the River, from Tiphsah even to Gaza, over all the kings on this side the River: and he had peace on all sides round about him.

25 M ientras Salomón vivió, Judá e Israel vivieron seguros, cultivando sus viñas e higueras desde Dan hasta Berseba.

And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig-tree, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, all the days of Solomon.

26 A demás, Salomón tenía en sus caballerizas cuarenta mil caballos para sus carros de combate, y doce mil jinetes.

And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

27 C ada uno de los gobernadores proveía de alimentos al rey Salomón para que nada le faltara. Cada mes, uno de ellos visitaba al rey y se sentaba a su mesa.

And those officers provided victuals for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon's table, every man in his month; they let nothing be lacking.

28 A demás, cada gobernador enviaba, según su turno, cebada y paja para los caballos y las bestias de carga.

Barley also and straw for the horses and swift steeds brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge.

29 E l Señor concedió a Salomón mucha sabiduría y prudencia, y lo dotó de un gran corazón, vasto como la arena del mar, para comprenderlo todo.

And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea-shore.

30 S u sabiduría era mayor que la de todos los que vivían en el oriente y en Egipto;

And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east, and all the wisdom of Egypt.

31 i ncluso sobrepasó a la sabiduría de hombres como Etán el ezraíta, Hemán, Calcol y Darda, los hijos de Majol. Su fama se extendió por todas las naciones vecinas.

For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all the nations round about.

32 S alomón compuso tres mil proverbios y mil cinco poemas.

And he spake three thousand proverbs; and his songs were a thousand and five.

33 H abló de temas relacionados con los cedros del Líbano y el hisopo que crece en las paredes, los animales, las aves, los reptiles y los peces.

And he spake of trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall; he spake also of beasts, and of birds, and of creeping things, and of fishes.

34 T anta era la fama de su sabiduría que de todos los pueblos y reinos llegaba gente a escuchar sus sabias palabras.

And there came of all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, who had heard of his wisdom.
