1 “ If there is a dispute between men, and they come to court, that the judges may judge them, and they justify the righteous and condemn the wicked,

Ако се появи разпра между човеци, и дойдат пред съда, и съдиите ги съдят, тогава нека оправдаят правия и осъдят виновния.

2 t hen it shall be, if the wicked man deserves to be beaten, that the judge will cause him to lie down and be beaten in his presence, according to his guilt, with a certain number of blows.

И ако виновният е заслужил за бой, съдията да заповяда да го повалят долу и да му ударят удари пред него, с брой, според престъплението му.

3 F orty blows he may give him and no more, lest he should exceed this and beat him with many blows above these, and your brother be humiliated in your sight.

Четиридесет удара може да му се ударят, а не повече; да не би, като превишават и му ударят много повече удари, брат ти да бъде унижен пред очите ти.

4 “ You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain. Marriage Duty of the Surviving Brother

Да не обвързваш устата на вола когато вършее.

5 “ If brothers dwell together, and one of them dies and has no son, the widow of the dead man shall not be married to a stranger outside the family; her husband’s brother shall go in to her, take her as his wife, and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her.

Ако живеят братя заедно, и един от тях умре бездетен, жената на умрелия да не се омъжи вън от семейството ме за чужд; братът на мъжа й да влезе при нея и да я вземе за своя жена, и да изпълни към нея длъжността на девер.

6 A nd it shall be that the firstborn son which she bears will succeed to the name of his dead brother, that his name may not be blotted out of Israel.

И първородният, когото тя роди, да наследи в името на умрелия му брат, за да се не изличи името на умрелия му от Израиля.

7 B ut if the man does not want to take his brother’s wife, then let his brother’s wife go up to the gate to the elders, and say, ‘My husband’s brother refuses to raise up a name to his brother in Israel; he will not perform the duty of my husband’s brother.’

Но ако човекът не желае да вземе жената на брат си, тогава братовата му жена да отиде на градските порти при старейшините и да рече: Деверът ми отказа да възстанови името на брата си в Израиля; не иска да изпълни към мене длъжността на девер.

8 T hen the elders of his city shall call him and speak to him. But if he stands firm and says, ‘I do not want to take her,’

Тогава старейшините на града му да го повикат и да му говорят; и ако той постоянствува и казва: Не желая да я взема,

9 t hen his brother’s wife shall come to him in the presence of the elders, remove his sandal from his foot, spit in his face, and answer and say, ‘So shall it be done to the man who will not build up his brother’s house.’

тогава братовата му жена да пристъпи при него пред старейшините, и като изуе обувката от ногата му да плюе на лицето ми, и да проговори и рече: Така ще се прави на човек, който не иска да въздига дома на брата си.

10 A nd his name shall be called in Israel, ‘The house of him who had his sandal removed.’ Miscellaneous Laws

И той да се нарича в Израиля с името: Домът на изутия.

11 “ If two men fight together, and the wife of one draws near to rescue her husband from the hand of the one attacking him, and puts out her hand and seizes him by the genitals,

Ако се сбият човеци помежду си, и жената на единия, като пристъпи да освободи мъжа си от ръката на тогова, който го бие, простре ръката си та го хване за срамните му части,

12 t hen you shall cut off her hand; your eye shall not pity her.

тогава да отсечеш ръката й; окото ти да я не пожали.

13 “ You shall not have in your bag differing weights, a heavy and a light.

Да нямаш в торбата си различни теглилки, тежки и леки.

14 Y ou shall not have in your house differing measures, a large and a small.

Да нямаш в къщата си различни ефи, голяма и малка.

15 Y ou shall have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure, that your days may be lengthened in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

Вярна и права теглилка да имаш; вярна и права ефа да имаш; за да се продължат дните ти на земята, която Господ твоят Бог ти дава.

16 F or all who do such things, all who behave unrighteously, are an abomination to the Lord your God. Destroy the Amalekites

Защото всички, които вършат това, всички, които вършат неправда, с мерзост на Господа твоя Бог.

17 “ Remember what Amalek did to you on the way as you were coming out of Egypt,

Помни какво ти направи Амалик по пътя, когато излязохте из Египет,

18 h ow he met you on the way and attacked your rear ranks, all the stragglers at your rear, when you were tired and weary; and he did not fear God.

как ти се противи по пътя и поради задните ти човеци, всичките останали надире от слабост, когато ти беше запретил и уморен; и той не се убои от Бога.

19 T herefore it shall be, when the Lord your God has given you rest from your enemies all around, in the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess as an inheritance, that you will blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. You shall not forget.

Поради това, когато те успокои Господ твоят Бог от всичките неприятели около тебе в земята, която Господ твоят Бог ти дава в наследство да я притежаваш, заличи спомена да я притежаваш, заличи спомена на Амалика изпод небето; да не забравиш.
