1 A nd the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

А по цялата земя се употребяваше един език и един говор.

2 A nd it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

И като потеглюваха човеците към изток, намериха поле в Сенаарската земя, гдето се и заселиха.

3 A nd they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

И рекоха си един на друг: Елате, да направим тухли и да ги изпечем в огъня. Тухли употребяваха вместо камъни, а смола употребяваха вместо кал.

4 A nd they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

И рекоха: Елате, да си съградим град, даже кула, чийто връх <да стига> до небето; и да си спечелим име, да не би да се разпръснем по лицето на цялата земя.

5 A nd the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

А Господ слезе да види града и кулата, които градяха човеците.

6 A nd the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

И рече Господ: Ето, едни люде са, и всички говорят един език; и това е което са почнали да правят; и не ще може вече да им се забрани, какво да било нещо, що биха намислили да направят.

7 G o to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

Елате да слезем, и там да разбъркаме езика им, тъй щото един други да не разбират езика си.

8 S o the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

Така Господ ги разпръсна от там по лицето на цялата земя; а те престанаха да градят града.

9 T herefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

За това той се наименува Вавилон {Т.е., Бъркотия.}, защото там Господ разбърка езика на цялата земя; и от там Господ ги разпръсна по лицето на цялата земя.

10 T hese are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood:

Ето Симовото потомство: Сим беше на сто години, а роди Арфаксада две години след потопа;

11 A nd Shem lived after he begat Arphaxad five hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

а откак роди Арфаксада, Сим живя петстотин години, и роди синове и дъщери.

12 A nd Arphaxad lived five and thirty years, and begat Salah:

Арфаксад живя тридесет и пет години и роди Сала;

13 A nd Arphaxad lived after he begat Salah four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

а откак роди Сала, Арфаксад живя четиристотин и три години, и роди синове и дъщери.

14 A nd Salah lived thirty years, and begat Eber:

Сала живя тридесет години и роди Евера;

15 A nd Salah lived after he begat Eber four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

а откак роди Евера, Сала живя четиристотин и три години, и роди синове и дъщери.

16 A nd Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg:

Евер живя тридесет и четири години и роди Фалека;

17 A nd Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters.

а откак роди Фалека, Евер живя четиристотин и тридесет години и роди синове и дъщери.

18 A nd Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu:

Фалек живя тридесет години и роди Рагава;

19 A nd Peleg lived after he begat Reu two hundred and nine years, and begat sons and daughters.

а откак роди Рагава, Фалек живя двеста и девет години и роди синове и дъщери.

20 A nd Reu lived two and thirty years, and begat Serug:

Рагав живя тридесет и две години и роди Серуха;

21 A nd Reu lived after he begat Serug two hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters.

а откак роди Серуха, Рагав живя двеста и седем години и роди синове и дъщери.

22 A nd Serug lived thirty years, and begat Nahor:

Серух живя тридесет години и роди Нахора;

23 A nd Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

а откак роди Нахора, Серух живя двеста години и роди синове и дъщери.

24 A nd Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah:

Нахор живя двадесет и девет години и роди Тара;

25 A nd Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.

а откак роди Тара, Нахор живя сто и деветнадесет години и роди синове и дъщери.

26 A nd Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

Тара живя седемдесет години и роди Аврама, Нахора и Арана.

27 N ow these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.

Ето потомството и на Тара: Тара роди Аврама, Нахора и Арана; а Аран роди Лота.

28 A nd Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.

И Аран умря преди баща си Тара в Ур Халдейски, в родната си земя.

29 A nd Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.

И Аврам и Нахор си взеха жени; името на Аврамовата жена бе Сарайя, а името на Нахоровата жена Мелха, дъщеря на Арана, който <освен че> беше баща на Мелха, беше баща и на Есха.

30 B ut Sarai was barren; she had no child.

А Сарайя беше бездетна, нямаше чадо.

31 A nd Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.

И Тара взе сина си Аврама и внука си Лота, Арановия син, и снаха си Сарайя, жената на сина си Аврама та излязоха заедно от Ур Халдейски, за да отидат в Ханаанската земя; и дойдоха в Харан, дето се и заселиха.

32 A nd the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.

И дните на Тара станаха двеста и пет години; и Тара умря в Харан.
