1 A nd Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the Lord, mine horn is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.

Тогава Анна се помоли, като казваше: - Развесели се сърцето ми в Господа; Въздигна се рога ми чрез Господа; Разшириха се устата ми срещу неприятелите ми, Защото се развеселих в спасението Ти.

2 T here is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.

Няма свет какъвто е Господ; Защото няма друг освен Тебе, Нито канара като нашия Бог.

3 T alk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

Не продължавайте да говорите горделиво; Да не излезе високомерие из устата ви; Защото Господ е Бог на знания, И от Него се претеглят делата.

4 T he bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength.

Лъковете на силните се строшиха; А немощните се препасаха със сила.

5 T hey that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.

Ситите се пазариха за хляб; А гладните престанаха <да гладуват. >Ей, и неплодната роди седем, А многодетната изнемощя.

6 T he Lord killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.

Господ умъртвява, и съживява; Сваля в ада {Еврейски: Шеол, т.е. място на умрелите.}, и възвежда.

7 T he Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.

Господ осиромашава <човека>, и обогатява; Смирява <човека>, и въздига.

8 H e raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord 's, and he hath set the world upon them.

Въздига бедния от пръстта, И възвишава сиромаха от бунището, За да ги направи да седнат между князете, И да наследят славен престол; Защото стълбовете на земята са на Господа, Който и постави на тях вселената.

9 H e will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

Ще пази нозете на светиите Си; А нечестивите ще погинат в тъмнината; Понеже със сила не ще надделее човек.

10 T he adversaries of the Lord shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the Lord shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.

Противниците на Господа ще се сломят; Ще гръмне от небето против тях; Господ ще съди краищата на земята, И ще даде сила на царя Си, И ще въздигне рога на помазаника Си.

11 A nd Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. And the child did minister unto the Lord before Eli the priest.

Тогава Елкана си отиде у дома си в Рама. А детето слугуваше Господу пред свещеника Илия.

12 N ow the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the Lord.

А Илиевите синове бяха лоши човеци, които не познават Господа.

13 A nd the priest's custom with the people was, that, when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while the flesh was in seething, with a fleshhook of three teeth in his hand;

Тия свещеници постъпваха към людете така: когато някой принасяше жертва, като се вареше месото, слугата на свещеника дохождаше с тризъбна вилица в ръка

14 A nd he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the fleshhook brought up the priest took for himself. So they did in Shiloh unto all the Israelites that came thither.

и забождаше я в тенджерата или в котела, или в котлето, или в гърнето; и каквото издигаше вилицата, свещеникът го вземаше за себе си. Така постъпваха в Сило с всичките израилтяни, които дохождаха там.

15 A lso before they burnt the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have sodden flesh of thee, but raw.

Даже и преди да изгорят тлъстината, слугата на свещеника дохождаше та казваше на човека, който принасяше жертвата: Дай на свещеника месо за печене, защото няма да приеме от тебе варено месо, но сурово.

16 A nd if any man said unto him, Let them not fail to burn the fat presently, and then take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would answer him, Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force.

И ако човекът му речеше: Нека изгорят първо тлъстината, и <сетне> си вземи колкото желае душата ти, тогава му казваше: Не, но сега ще дадеш, и ако не, ще взема на сила.

17 W herefore the sin of the young men was very great before the Lord: for men abhorred the offering of the Lord.

Така грехът на тия младежи беше твърде голям пред Господа; защото човеците се отвращаваха от Господната жертва.

18 B ut Samuel ministered before the Lord, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.

А Самуил слугуваше пред Господа, дете препасано с ленен ефод.

19 M oreover his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.

И майка му правеше за него горна дрешка та му донасяше всяка година, когато дохождаше с мъжа си, за да принесе годишната жертва.

20 A nd Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The Lord give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to the Lord. And they went unto their own home.

И Илий благослови Елкана и жена му, като каза: Господ да ти даде рожба от тая жена вместо заема, който дадохте на Господа. И те отидоха на мястото си.

21 A nd the Lord visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the Lord.

И Господ посети Анна; и тя зачна и роди три сина и две дъщери. А детето Самуил растеше пред Господа.

22 N ow Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did unto all Israel; and how they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

А като беше Илий много стар, чу всичко, що правили синовете му на целия Израил, и как лежели с жените, които слугували при входа на шатъра за срещане.

23 A nd he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people.

И той им рече: Защо правите такива работи? понеже слушам лоши работи за вас от всички тия люде.

24 N ay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the Lord 's people to transgress.

Недейте, чада мои; защото не е добър слухът, който чувам; вие правите Господните люде да стават престъпници.

25 I f one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the Lord, who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the Lord would slay them.

Ако съгреши човек на човека ще стане моление Богу за него {Или: Бог ще го съди.}; но ако съгреши някой Господу, кой ще се моли за него? Но те не послушаха гласа на баща си, защото Господ щеше да ги погуби.

26 A nd the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with the Lord, and also with men.

А детето Самуил растеше и придобиваше благоволението и на Господа и на човеците.

27 A nd there came a man of God unto Eli, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Did I plainly appear unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh's house?

Тогава дойде един Божий човек при Илия та му рече: Така казва Господ: Не съм ли Се открил явно на бащиния ти дом когато те бяха в Египет у Фараоновия дом?

28 A nd did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to offer upon mine altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I give unto the house of thy father all the offerings made by fire of the children of Israel?

И не съм ли избрал него измежду всичките Израилеви племена за Мой свещеник, за да принася жертва на олтара Ми, да гори темян и да носи ефод пред Мене? И не съм ли дал на бащиния ти дом всичките приноси чрез огън от израилтяните?

29 W herefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?

Защо, прочее, ритате жертвата Ми и приноса Ми, който съм заповядал <да принасят> в жилището Ми, и почиташ синовете си повече от Мене, за да се гоите с по-доброто от всичките приноси на людете Ми Израиля?

30 W herefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

Затова Господ Израилевият Бог каза: Аз наистина думах, че твоят дом и домът на баща ти щяха да ходят пред Мене до века; но сега Господ казва: Далеч от Мене! защото ония, които славят Мене, тях ще прославя Аз, а ония, които Ме презират, ще бъдат презрени.

31 B ehold, the days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father's house, that there shall not be an old man in thine house.

Ето, идат дните, когато ще пресека мишцата ти и мишцата на бащиния ти дом, така щото да няма старец в дома ти.

32 A nd thou shalt see an enemy in my habitation, in all the wealth which God shall give Israel: and there shall not be an old man in thine house for ever.

И посред всичките блага, които ще се дават на Израиля, в жилището Ми ще видиш утеснение {Или: противник.}; и не ще има старец в дома ти до века.

33 A nd the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thine heart: and all the increase of thine house shall die in the flower of their age.

И оня от твоите, когото не отсека от олтара Си, ще бъде за изнуряване на очите ти и за огорчаване на душата ти; и всичките внуци на дома ти ще умират в средна възраст.

34 A nd this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them.

И това, което ще дойде върху двамата ти сина, върху Офния и Финееса, ще ти бъде знамение: в един ден и двамата ще умрат.

35 A nd I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.

И Аз ще Си въздигна верен свещеник, който ще постъпва според това, което е в сърцето Ми и в душата Ми; и ще му съградя непоколебим дом; и той ще ходи пред помазаника Ми до века.

36 A nd it shall come to pass, that every one that is left in thine house shall come and crouch to him for a piece of silver and a morsel of bread, and shall say, Put me, I pray thee, into one of the priests' offices, that I may eat a piece of bread.

А всеки, който остане в твоя дом, ще дохожда да му се кланя за малко пари и за един хляб, и ще казва: Назначи ме, моля, на някоя от свещеническите служби, за да ям едно късче хляб.
